Silent Hill, a place Tyler had never heard of, but still felt a strange pull towards. Initially this case belonged to his eldest brother, Rylen, but as soon as the name was mentioned Tyler had to take the job. "I'll take it Ry, don't worry." Tyler exclaimed as he jumped over the couch that separated him and his brother, snatching the manila case file from his brother's bear like hands. Tyler had no clue about the case, but it didn't matter, Ty had to have it. He couldn't really explain why necessarily, but Tyler just needed this case.

"But Ty, it's all the way out in West Virgina! You hate traveling out to the east, don't worry your little blond head about it, after all it was my bond and I can't just shove it onto you." Rylen retorted, snatching the file back from Tyler's hands. Tyler stood still as he watched his brother walk away, file in hand heading towards the front of the office. It was weird you know, this overwhelming feeling that was captivating Tyler as he watched his brother pace away. A surge of anger gripped Tyler, "His always pushing you around Tyler....are you going to let him get away with it? Are you that much of a punk? Coward. You never were able to stand up to your brother, were you? Coward. Loser."

The thoughts were eerie, not his, but that didn't matter. The words were right, Rylen always did tend to push him around. Who the hell did he think he was, the boss? No, not of him....."Rylen!" Tyler shouted as he rushed his brother, tackling the much bigger brother down. "Tyler! What the fuck are you doing? You've lost it.....you psychopath!" Typically Rylen would of been able to push Tyler of with ease, but not this time. This time Tyler was determined, almost obsessed, as he wrestled his brother down and only getting off once he'd gotten what he wanted -- the Silent Hill case file.

Jumping off, Tyler wasted no time to getting his stuff gathered up and heading out to his 1967 black Chevrolet Impala. "Later Ry!" Tyler waved goodbye, a pleased smile on his face as he tossed his belongings into his car. Rylen waved back, a very confused look plastered over his face. And that was it, the beginning of his journey into the shadowy world that was Silent Hill.

"Yeah, I'm here. Finally. It's some dinky little town, don't worry this guy shouldn't be hard to find here. I give it three days tops." Tyler said with reassurance to his father on his cellphone. His father wasn't one to waste to much time on a case; he was a man that liked results and fast. "Right. Well, I'll do my best. Later old man." Tyler's dad also enjoyed having a good reputation as a bounty hunter, and bringing in dead runaways was a good way to ruin that reputation quickly. Something that had lately been happening frequently with Tyler and his cases.

So here he was now, in the middle of Silent Hill, the town center. Tyler took a quick look around, a bit unimpressed by the lack of patrons. "Where the hell is everybody?" Ty questioned to himself as he parked his car in front of a barber shop and began to walk around.

A Barber's shop was not the typical habber-dasher of bald men, but he'd long learned in Silent Hill to take any open door as a the closest thing to a good omen as possible; so many of the doors and avenues barred by implaccable forces, herding one this way and that, shoving the innocent headlong into the dark horizon, all with one sinister goal to be achieved.

Their gruesome, horrid demise. Thus, Jacob took the unlocked door of the Barber's parlor as a sign. The few minutes he spent searching around would not come to bare much, however. An old, but still sharp hand-held razor, and a few papers that didn't make much sense to him. It was while he was in the final acts of perusing the main parlor, when a shadowy figure ambled by the store's fogged over window, catching Jacob's attention as he spotted the action in the room-sized mirror on the wall. The gait, along with the sound of a motor running, was enough to make his heart sing.

    A survivor...who had a running automobile!

Jacob takes to flight, running out the parlor's door and once, he'd gained the street, began calling to them frantically.

    "Hey! Hey, you! Over here!!"

By now the man hadn't gone too far, so perhaps his chosen volume level was not really required, but the prospect of driving away from this place and leaving the horror behind was too much to believe; and, a bit too loud, as well.

The echoes of Jacob's cries reverberate against the stone and brick, creating an awareness in creatures not of this world. What was once hidden safely in the unexplained fog was now no longer so. Pink, bloody wings begin to flap in tandem, elevating the flock of cretins to a respectable altitude. From this height, spying the waving man and the other newly arrived one was all too easy. With a demons cry, one swoops down, landing with a loud thud atop the car's roof. Several more join it, though one, perhaps too eager for the hunt, would soar past the vehicle, and swoop down like an angel of death, clawed feet set to strike the hind of the new arrival.

Jacob, seeing this was about to spell doom for the unknown man, calls to him, and begins running to him, his hunting shotgun gripped tightly. How unfortunate, it had but threee shells left. Hardly enough to weather this new threat...

    "Hey. behind you!!! LOOK OUT!!!!"

Would he react in time? Please, God, let him turn around before it was too late...

[ooc: nice car. too bad Silent Hill hates methods of escape!]

"Sunshine, blue skies, please go away...." Tyler sang in a low voice, taking in his foggy surroundings. How strange, driving into the town he could of sworn everything was clear. Sunny possibly, whatever, he must of missed the weather shift when he was trying to eat a burger and "sing" Jefferson Airplane's White Rabbit. "My girl has found another, and gone away..." Tyler scoffed at the words, such a situation would never happen to him. It was ludicrous, the mere thought made Tyler grin. He continued his pace, taking in his foggy white environment.

"Hey! Hey, you! Over here!!" The words immediately caught Tyler's ears, swiveling around to see who was shouting he was able to catch another earful from the stranger. "Hey. behind you!!! LOOK OUT!!!!" "Look out?" Tyler repeated in a confused whisper as he caught site of the stranger. Immediately as he turned around, he was able to understand what the stranger was warning him about. Like a kick to the nuts, Tyler's body fell into a kneeling position as he saw a bunch of bat like creatures swooping down on his car, clawing and scrapping into the Impala's metal. Before he could react to the massacre of his beloved car, Tyler caught a large shadow flying his way on the concrete street.

There it was, a large pink like bat oozed in blood flying his way. Within seconds the massively ugly creature was swooping down at him, claws ready to slice his flesh apart. Tyler didn't have enough time to get up and run away, but he was able to roll to the side, the creature missing it's target by centimeter's. Frustrated, the disgusting bat from hell screeched and squawked in anger as it flapped it's wings violently, flying upwards for another attempt at Tyler's head.

"What the hell are this things?!" Tyler shouted mid run towards the stranger. Before he could look at the man for a reply, he could hear the bloody bat swooping down towards his vicinity ready for round two. Tyler grinned, this time Tyler was better prepared and was ready for the creature. He pulled out his .45 Colt, stopping for a split second to take three shots at the creature. Once between the eyes, once in the right wing, and the last shot at the creature's abdomen. Instantly the creature crashed onto the concrete, twitching frantically before slowly fading away.

Tyler continued his run, finally catching up to the stranger. "This isn't a tourist attraction let's go." Tyler demanded, barely stopping to talk to the man before taking him by the collar and tugging him towards his direction and away from the unsavory creatures. "Why aren't they swarming towards us?" Tyler thought anxiously, prepared to play target practice with the creatures. Something was off, why weren't they flying towards them. Tyler should be enthused by the fact, after all they were so many he wasn't sure he could get them all with the Colt.

Running around a corner, Tyler stopped, panting as he looked around for the bats. "Hey buddy, got any idea where we are?"

The repeated crack of gunfire was all Jacob recieved insofar as the status of the man he'd tried to warn of approaching danger. Himself, preoccupied swinging the clubbe end of his hunting shotgun around in a bid to keep those winged freaks away from him. Scoring a lucky hit, one of them would be knocked back, falling with such force on the car's hood, it set the alarm blaring, and this new, heinous noise took center stage, sending them into a frenzy of outrage. They literally tore the car apart in a fit; about this time, Jacob feels himself tugged and does not resit the pull.

The last thing he saw was what looked like another flock of those bird-men swooping down to pillage the blaring automobile.

Stopping around a nearby corner, the car's wail was still audible though dulled some by the distance. Jake peered around the wall, as this man took the time to quiz him. But, now was not the time for such things.

"Not now. We can't stay here..."

Taking the blunt end of his gun, it was struck against an old lock on a gate besides them. When it was broken, the narrow gate opened to an even narrower alley way [unbeknownst to either party, this was the very say alley Harry Mason wandered down upon first entering Silent Hill]. He waved the man to follow him.

"Listen to me, I'll answer anything you wanna know, but you have to believe me; here is too dangerous for you. This town's... gone insane or something... and there'll be more creatures like that one..."

Adrenalin pumping, Tyler could feel his heart race a million beats per minute. A storm of feelings brewing inside him; fear, anger, sadness, confusion. What the hell was this place? It wasn’t suppose to be this way. It was a simple job; track down and bring back his fugitive. That was it, that’s all Tyler had agreed to, not this madness.

Tyler stroked away some dampened hair strands away from his face as he awaited an answer from the guy. Tyler wasn’t sure what possessed him to stop and talk, must have been the shock, but he did it anyways. As seconds ticked away he could hear at a distance metal being shredded and strewn everywhere. His Impala, his baby, what had it done to anyone?! It was a poor casualty in this mess, if Tyler hadn’t his wits about him, he might have just gone insane from the sound and gone back to protect his beloved car.

"Not now. We can't stay here..."

The words snapped him from his delusions, bringing him back to the present dyer situation. Tyler nodded in agreement as he followed the man down the narrow alley. Tyler wasn’t one for small, confined spaces, but what choice did he have? As he followed the man down the small, dark alley the last words the man had said to him were sinking in. ”Wait a minute…there are more creatures like that?! The fuck! And I left all my shit back in the car! What the fuck am I going to do without all my fucking gun’s? Great! Just fucking great!”

    "Welcome to Silent Hill..."

Though Jacob's greeting lacked sincerity. As the two winded through the back alleys, the wail of his car alarm gradually died down until it was no more. They'd come to a small lot, the rear area of a cafe where a few dumpsters and trash cans reside. Jake took the time to pause amd perhaps give this new man a bit of a run-down about what was going on. He figured he'd do it now, lest that get seperated and he be forced to wander about alone and ignorant.

It may very well save his life in the near future.

"I dunno what came over this town.. but the streets are filled with creatures like those. And, even worse. Be glad I found you when I did, though, if you're here it can only mean one thing..."

Propping his hunting shotgun against a wall he turns his full attention on Tyler.

"You were summoned here to be punished. For what and why, I can't say... but Silent Hill is only interested in those with a price to pay... Like me. And, now you."

Cryptic words the man Tyler was not likely to accept on his first sitting. Jacob was aware of this, but didn't have the luxury of lying to him. He could do what he wanted wth the information. It was now his to deny, accept or debate. Soon, he would wedge the door open to the coffe shop, and entered gesturing for Tyler to follow.

"There's more. If you want to know, follow me...."

Tyler followed the man, curious to see where he was leading him. To think, just a while ago he was singing a happy little Temptation’s melody, now look at him. His car was dead, he’d been attacked by God knows what and was now trailing after some stranger like a five year old child. Following the man through the maze of ally’s the pair came to a stop when they reached a café.

"I dunno what came over this town.. but the streets are filled with creatures like those. And, even worse. Be glad I found you when I did, though, if you're here it can only mean one thing..." "You were summoned here to be punished. For what and why, I can't say... but Silent Hill is only interested in those with a price to pay... Like me. And, now you."

Tyler couldn’t help but to crack a smile; him being punished? For what? He’d done nothing wrong as far he was concerned. If anything Tyler needed to be rewarded, considering all the scumbags he’d help captured and put away for the better good of society. No, no, no, no, not punished, not him. This freak show of a town must of made a mistake, that is if the man in front of him was telling him the truth.

Honestly though, a town that punishes people? Was this guy on crack? He had to be to believe that pile of shit he was spewing. Town’s weren’t alive; they had no brains to judge good from bad. No, this man had obviously cracked under pressure or something. Not that Tyler judged to harshly, after the incident just moment’s ago it was only natural a weaker mind would come to such ridiculous conclusion’s to explain such occurrences. The poor guy….

Tyler’s bemused expression turned to one of sympathy, his head subconsciously tilting to the side to express his pity. ”You don’t say.” Tyler replied, a slight tone of faked concern laced into his words. Tyler watched the man prop the door open, watching him gesture to him before fully entering the café.
"There's more. If you want to know, follow me...."

Following in, Tyler continued the conversation. ”If you don’t mind me asking, if this place is to punish, what exactly did you do to get a one way ticket to this hell hole? ” Tyler understood the question was a bit on the nosey side, but Ty was naturally a curious guy. He had to know. He slowly paced around the deserted café, scanning for possible weapons to use in case any other creature’s appeared. ”Did you murder anyone?” Tyler chimed, his mind going into a morbid state. ”….raped, maybe?”

Naturally. The man didn't believe him. But, why should he? Jacob was well aware of the gravity of his words, and that most likely reaction to anyone with a sane mind hearing them. Doubt. To what degree depended on the being, but it was always the same. Doubt. Rejection. But, soon, and sooner than this man expected, he would be a born again believer.

Silen Hill was quite persuasive in that regard.

The pair pressed on. Inside the coffee shop was empty space. Sure, a table here and there, a counter, kitchen the works. But no people. No sound. There was a broken window off to the side of the front, through which the air outside rushed in, and that caused some noise but by and large the entire place looked like everyone just got up, dropped whatever they were doing and walked out into nothingness.

If Tyler had a rationale for that one, by all means.

His sarcastic tone wasn't missed. Jake had just evolved to a point where it didn't matter now. Setting his gun down atop the counter, he faces Tyler. "No. Not here for a crime. At least, no crime any human law can judge..." There was more. But, Jacob wasn't about to give him more than he could handle just yet. "But, you should be more concerned with why you're here..."

    Truer words were never spoken....

[gonna give them time to talk before they get attacked again lol]

The café was what one would expect of a small town café, not at all as fancy as the one’s back in California. Tyler walked around the establishment, very unimpressed by his environment as he took it in and waited for the stranger’s reply. Morbidly enough, Tyler hoped for a gruesome reply. Perhaps a double homicide? Maybe something gorier? He could be a serial killer?

”Please God, let this guy be a serial killer!” Tyler prayed as he prepared himself just in case. It was no secret to those who knew Tyler that he’d become blood thirsty. Always wanting a reason for him to pull his gun on someone and shoot. ”Please give me a reason to pull my gun out, please, please, please…” Tyler continued to pray, his adrenalin peeking once more as his reflexes intensified.

"No. Not here for a crime. At least, no crime any human law can judge..."

”Dammit!” Tyler thought with disappointment as he calmed himself down, and turned to face the stranger face to face. "But, you should be more concerned with why you're here..." Tyler crinkled his nose, crossing his arms as he gave the man a mischievous grin. ”See pal, that’s just it. If you say that this place is to ‘punish’, then I’m obviously not suppose to be here. I haven’t done anything wrong. I’m practically an angel you see.” Growing weary of standing he pulled over a wooden chair, taking a seat before continuing his conversation. ”If anything, I should be rewarded. I’m practically a God damn hero!”

Maybe it was something in the simple fact that he was not only having the sanest dialog he'd had in...days? but the first one with another human being in what felt like too long. Or, perhaps, Jacob wanted to give this new fellow something to look back to and hold on to...

    When the Darkness came calling...

Whatever it was, Jacob had resigned to listening to this one pontificate on. And made no moves to argue the point. It was rather cruel, he felt, to bicker with someone who may very well die soon. A sin. And, he didn't want to risk anymore of those in a place such as this.

When the declaration came, sounding the thesis of his denial, it became clear to him what this one's 'sin' might be. He'd seen his kind before, actually, within the army men his father would bring to the dinner table. Men old and proud' war horses forged in steel, baptized in combat. The sort utterly convinced of their ultimate guiltlessness. Nothing they'd ever done was ever 'wrong'. For them, there was always a reason or purpose to their deeds which exonarated themselves from any responsibility for the act. When he'd spoken to Jake, he;d given him flashes of those earlier times with his father.

But, far be it from him to judge.

Instead, he switched topics; continuing on this road would only lead to a bad stop. "So...you mentioned you had more guns...? In your car? Wanna get them?" He was running low on reserves himself.

Tyler was unsure how to feel about his new companion; should he like him or dislike him? Saying this place was for the wicked to be punished, he obviously felt guilty about something, right? So in fact if he did feel guilty, he must of done something, some thing worth being punished for. So in Tyler's conclusion this man had to be a ""bad guy", a guy no better than the criminals he tracked down and brought back to be punished for their misdeeds.

Tyler looked him up and down; he didn't look like a bad guy, but then again, they never did now did they. Whatever the case was, Tyler couldn't afford to get rid of this guy, at least not yet. Not until he found out what was truly going on in this town and what the hell those things that attacked them were. Something this guy seemed to be knowledgeable about.

So...you mentioned you had more guns...? In your car? Wanna get them?"

"My car..." Tyler moaned in sadness, he'd been so frazzled that he'd completely forgotten about his baby until now. "...my poor, poor baby girl..." He continued, head dropping into his hands as an onset wave of despair and gloom ripped through his soul. Most thought Tyler's overabundance of admiration and love for his car was ridiculous; to be a car enthusiast was one thing, but most would agree Tyler's eccentric feeling for his automobile was a bit much.

"...yeah, I have guns, and other stuff that could help I guess." Tyler said after what could be imagined as an awkward five minutes of silence for Jacob. You would of thought by the sound of Tyler's voice that one of his brother's had died or something. After another minute or two, Tyler pulled himself together and processed what Jacob had just proposed. Immediately Tyler propped himself back up, a facial expression of surprise and shock. "Are you nuts! You want us to go back?! Those things almost decapitated me! And you want to go back?! "
