It was the year 2010. The Government had fallen. An elite secret organization infiltrated every level of society and destroyed each government from within. They call themselves the Aeuitas Equitas or The AE. They gave the people "freedom" from the government's ruling hand and destroyed the law.

Crime and corruption rule the city. There can be no justice where there is no law. Among the chaos, Brisbane has settled into some semblance of normalcy. People learned to look away from the corruption and keep quiet; because in this town the brave end up dead. Safety is a thing of the past in this hell.

But there are those who still fight; they are known as The Service. Tired of living in corruption, these are the people who try to bring order by destroying the AE. Though not at all Heroes, they're fed up with living under the AE.

On the streets of Brisbane a silent war is taking place. Everyone knows about the two sides, but no one knows who the members are neither side is free from corruption. Who will reign in...

A sigh came from him as she nodded. Relinquishing his fears and doubts into her hands. The sweet caresses of her fingertips against him. Soft and warm. Her lips finding his easily, and he was enthralled by her touch. Delicately. Heavenly. And as she looked down and pulled him into herself again, Derek buried his lips in her red hair.

The words she spoke, caught him. Though for a moment he didn't understand the true meaning behind them, until remembering the chain that bound her. With a simple nod, he would slide to his knees. Both dropping as he trailed a hand down her bound leg. Unable to lose contact with her, fearing she could disappear. Derek's other hand would fumble with the keys, before finding the third one. Unlocking her chain and throwing it back onto the wall where it came from. Oh now she was free as it was always meant to be. Unbound, as the fiery angel he knew and loved.

Love, she had repeated the word twice to him now. Complimenting his name with such a word. Reassuring him. The word held a promise, and he begged for it. Derek would lean his head against her legs. Sighing again, yet not so jaggedly. It was of relief. Utter relief. The warm smile came to him once again, fingers gently encircling her ankle where the chain had once been. Examining the bruise and any bleeding. But slowly pulling his hand away, almost fearing she would flinch at his touch.

"Are you okay now?" he inquired smoothly, looking up at her and gradually rising to his feet. Analytical senses taking over as he scanned her entire body. "Is there pain anywhere else?" he asked at length. Scared of the answer. Or moreso, scared of his reaction to an answer. If she was hurt anywhere else, he should have gave Morgan a longer death.

It was odd to switch back and forth on the nature of Morgan's death. Half was guilt, yet half was fueled for revenge in the name of Aaralyn. Though there was one thing for sure, he would never call it a mistake. Guilt could reign free, but he would have done it again, if need be. Over and over again if neccessary. There was no other answer except Morgan's death, and Bliss truly believed it.

He wanted to. It was for Aaralyn. The smile widened on his face at the thought, his hand tracing down her arm so till their fingers intertwined. His shivering stilled, as he lead her into the hallway. Into light. How long hadn't she seen it? The thought sparked another pain of anger. But it was forgotten, as he glanced toward her. Eyes now vivid with life and color. A loving tug, and his smile would meet her lips. His passion hidden behind his lips. Gentle again against hers. Yet he didn't pull away until a length of time passed. The kiss etched into his being.

"Let's go..." he stated with a smile.

Aaralyn felt anxious as he dropped to his knees, wanting to be able to hold him, wishing the chain would just fall off by itself, admitting it’s own defeat. But his hands were soft as they caressed her legs, and she closed her eyes, trying to remember if another’s hands were ever that loving. She only reopened them as she heard the clanking of the metal chain hitting the wall, signaling her freedom. But it all meant nothing unless Derek wanted her to walk out with him. She has his utterly. Mind, Body, and Soul. No one else could ever influence her the way he would. As he looked over her ankle, his fingers careful and yet precise, she nodded her answer.

”I’m fine. Nothing else hurts…” Aaralyn murmured, still entranced by his gaze. And truly, the only other pain she felt was not having him hold her. A solid, haunting ache to have him wrap his arms about her and whisper to her forever. It was only combated by the sight of his smile. When his hand traveled down her arm, she instinctually took his hand. Nothing else seemed more natural to her, to have Derek holding her.

When he guided her from the hellhole she had been trapped in, and her eyes were assaulted by he bright light, she buried her head into his chest, her eyes tearing from the pain of seeing. But slowly she brought her head up, and she received Derek’s kiss, her heart pounding harder as their lips met. Oh, she’d wait through hell for him again. For this blissful moment of serenity. She didn’t want him to pull away, to break their embrace, but realized her own weaknesses, and conceded to his wish.

”Let’s go…” accompanied with a smile, and that was all Aaralyn needed to walk forward. She returned one small smile, and glanced downward for a mere second. Instantly the sight of red caught her eyes. A trail of it, leading right up to her door. Her heart stopped in it’s pumping and she followed the color to it’s origins… to Derek’s leg.

It was all she could do to keep herself from fainting in fear, anger, and overwhelming shock. I’ll kill him she thought bitterly towards her kidnapper. And holding onto that bitterness, she saw the world speed up back to normal pace, and her hearing returned. She took a shaky breath, and then felt the symptoms washing over her again. Through the gooseflesh and sudden shaking, Aaralyn pulled Derek faster, unaware of the way out, but anxious to get him help.

”H-how do we get ou-out?” She managed through shuddering teeth, her worry for him enticing her maniac state, her words hurried and emotional.

Derek winced as he saw her eyes meet his leg. He had been trying to hide the sight, walking without a limp. Keeping his body steady. Eyes level. Voice calm. But bathed in light, of course he couldn't hide it.

He could feel his body pulled forward, yet Aaralyn's movements were inconsistent. Shaking, stuttering. Had he done that to her? A wave of concern crashed into him, as he fought back the question to ask. What's wrong?. But there was no simple answer for that. No simple reason for her to act this way. So he complied to her pull.

"It's at the end of the hallway." he replied, and for the first time after seeing her, he could feel his body tearing from within him. Rats scurrying behind his trail of crimson. One even daring to spiral up his leg. Red eyes flashing as it ripped through broken but moving flesh. Derek hissed in protest, slapping it off so that it slammed into the wall. Bones broken.

The threat of another animal trying to eat him alive, made him move faster. Leading Aaralyn out into the street. Blaring sirens, traffic, and yells greeting him. Down the street was where the accident had been, and Derek could see the remnants of his bike strewn throughout the asphalt. The two cars still smashed into each other.

"Where to?" he asked, though a casual question. His mind scorned against any type of sanity. The roaring noises making his head split, and all he longed for was to hear Aaralyn's delicate voice. And it took all of his concentration to ignore everything else. He held her hand tighter, his other hand bracing his skull. Eyes fastened closed. Trying to concentrate. Trying to think things through. Trying to come up with a plan.

But it all seemed so far. Too hard to grasp any tangible thought. Shit. He didn't even think of a plan before he had got here.

"Be my eyes for a moment, Aaralyn." he stated reassuringly, as if to buy some time. Yet knowing her, she probably wasn't going to wait till he was able to think of a thorough plan.

She couldn’t think. Not with her skin threatening to peel apart for her body with her violent, seizure-like shiverings. But Derek was hurt; she saw it now, his limp, the blood flowing behind him. As she followed directions to the world outside, she despised the noise that accompanied it. Loud, crude crying sounds assaulted her ears, and she winced slightly. Her grip tightened on Derek’s as they were greeted by the sight of the street.

Sirens wailing, lights flashing. It was all so much for her to take in after untold hours of isolation and silence. But everything was forgotten as Derek went standstill, one hand holding his head, his eyes closed tightly. She couldn’t stand the sight of him in pain. It frightened her. He was the strong one of them now, the one who lead and guided.

”Where to?”

God damn men. Always acting cavalier and unmoved. He obviously wasn’t able to think straight. It wasn’t like him to be impulsive like this, without the next step planned. She let out a gasp and instantly covered his ears, bringing his head to her shoulder, protecting him from the physical commotion.

”I’ll take care of you…” She said through her shaking body, holding him close.
Oh, there was so much blood. Too much. What could she do? She wasn’t a doctor, a healer!
BANG.
An epiphany.
A hospital

Without warning, she flagged down a taxi that was caught in the unmoving traffic, grasping Derek’s hand and leading him through the cars. She opened the door roughly, having to try twice before getting it right because of her shaking. She almost pushed Derek into the cab, slamming the door shut and cradling him against her body.
”We need to get to the bloody hospital… NOW!”

Her voice had become incredibly familiar, that of Slim, a hidden façade that only caused her remorse. But it got the driver to grumble and take in Derek’s condition, to floor it through the traffic.
The minutes passed by slowly, Aaralyn counting every one of his heartbeats, every single breath he took. She tried to soothe him and the chaos that surrounded the problem by humming some instinctual melody. She tried to control her chattering from the freezing temperature. And the pain she felt. Everything hurt now. All the fabrics on her skin, the seat touching her body. The only pain she welcomed as bliss was Derek’s contact, thankful that it was there.

When they finally pulled into the hospital’s ER section, Aaralyn got out first, watching as Derek pulled himself from the cab. She didn’t bother to pay the fee, instead she ran clumsily into the ER, grabbing the first person she saw there with scrubs on.
”Please!” She cried, tears now flowing easily. “We need help!”
