#01 Four More
One day, I was wiping down the counter at Hayley’s Cyberspace when my friend Gustavo Rodriquez walked in. He seemed really down as he walked to the computer in front of the stage. I had my Steel-Type Pokémon called Mawile bring Gustavo his usual orange juice & five sugar cookies as my roommates Eddie & Erin walked in.
“Hey, Bobby. What’s up?” Erin asked.
“Not much. Been cleaning the counter for the last twenty minutes.” I said.
“You always finish within seconds. Why are you going so slow?” Eddie asked.
“Have you forgotten that I can’t do stuff like that when people are here? They’d get suspicious.” I whispered.
“Oh yeah. My bad. Sorry, Bobby.” Eddie said.
“It’s okay. You see that guy sitting by the stage?” I said as I pointed to Gustavo.
“Yeah. What about him?” Erin asked.
“His name’s Gustavo. He works at the grocery store where I get the stuff needed to make most of the meals I cook for us to eat at home. He’s always full of energy & in a good mood. But today, he seems really bummed out. I was thinking about probing his mind but I think I should talk to him straight up. Can you guys help me?” I asked.
“Sure we will.” Eddie said.
“Yeah. I’d like to get to know him.” Erin said as I walked around the counter to join Eddie & Erin.
We walked over to Gustavo and asked how he was doing. Gustavo greeted me as he said he was fine and I introduced him to Eddie & Erin. He shook their hands and I asked why he seemed so down as we sat down.
“I’m worried about my cousins Madison & Vida.” Gustavo said.
“What’s wrong with them?” Eddie asked.
“There was an earthquake a few months back in their hometown Briarwood and weird things have been happening in that town shortly afterwards. I’m worried about how they are faring with all of the weirdness.” Gustavo explained.
“What kind of weird things?” Erin asked.
“Bizarre creature sightings. People turning into stone. All sorts of things.” Gustavo said.
“I heard about that. I’ve been meaning to check it out for a while but I’ve been busy with stuff like my two jobs.” I said.
“Yeah. Now that you mention it, I heard that there have also been sightings of five Power Rangers in Briarwood.” Eddie said.
“But there’s always been at least nine Power Rangers in the past.” Erin said.
“Remember that there were initially seven Dino Thunder Rangers before the Black & White Rangers joined them, Erin.” I said.
“Oh yeah. I have an idea. Why don’t the four of us go to Briarwood and investigate these sightings. We can check on your cousins while we’re at it, Gustavo.” Erin said.
“That sounds like a great idea. They work at a music store called the Rock Porium there.” Gustavo said.
“It’s perfect since I have to enter & compete in a Duel Monsters tournament in Briarwood anyhow.” I said.
“Then it’s settled. We’ll go this Saturday.” Eddie said.
“Yeah!” we all said.
I got my three friends some sodas and Mawile brought a big plate of cookies for them to eat. I went about running the usual viral scans on the unoccupied computers and drank enough cola to unleash a big burp, as I kept my mouth closed. I went to the back to take stock of what the café needed more of and continued helping customers.

A few days later, I got up and made breakfast for Eddie, Erin & the rest of our roommates. It was an Italian themed breakfast with dishes I got from a favorite show of mine called “Everyday Italian” and the Pokémon helped me serve it. My roommates loved the food and it showed by how they were eating all of it. I checked my watch and realized that it was time to meet up with Gustavo. I told Eddie & Erin and I went to my room to grab my new Duel Monsters Metalheads deck & my duel disk. I kissed my girlfriend Lauren on the cheek and walked out the door. Then Eddie, Erin & I of us climbed into my son Piston Head of the Computerbots and went to the Rock Porium in Briarwood, California.
When we got there, we saw Gustavo getting out of his car and we parked next to him. We got out of Piston Head and Gustavo asked where who’s car it was. He went wide-eyed when I told him that I built it and he noticed the Autobots symbol. Gustavo asked if it was an Autobot and I was about to answer the question when Piston Head interrupted me.
“You bet I am! The name’s Piston Head. I’m one of the Computerbots.” Piston Head said.
“Piston Head, don’t transform. I don’t think the people of Briarwood are ready for the Autobots because of the weirdness.” I said.
“Sure thing, dad. I’ll stay here and act like a normal car.” Piston Head.
“Dad?” Gustavo asked.
“Built him. That’s all I’ll say.” I said.
“This the place, Gustavo?” Eddie asked.
“Yeah. Madison & Vida should be inside.” Gustavo said.
“Let’s go in.” Erin said.
We walked into the Rock Porium and it was a typical music store. It had shelves of various styles of music, loud music playing, people chilling out & listening to music with headphones, etc. I spotted a girl with mega short hair wearing headphones as she played the records like a professional DJ and Gustavo said that the girl was his cousin Vida.
An old guy walked up to us and asked if he could help us. Gustavo said that he was there to see Vida & Madison and he told the guy that he was their cousin. The old guy, who was named Toby, owner of the Rock Porium, called Vida over and Vida put her headphones down before walking up to us.

“Hey, Gustavo. How are you, cuz? Who are your friends?” Vida asked.
“Hey, Vida. I’m good. This is Bobby, Erin & Eddie. Where’s Madison?” Gustavo said.
“Maddy’s at home. She ran out of film and went to get some more for her video camera. So, what brings you to Briarwood?” Vida asked.
“Just wanted to see how you were doing considering all of the weird things that have been going on.” Gustavo said.
“I’ve been good. You don’t have to worry about me.” Vida said.
“Hey, sis. Gustavo? How are you?” a girl with long, black hair said as she walked in behind us.
“Hi, Madison. I’m doing good. I just came to see you guys. These are my friends.” Gustavo said.
“I’m Eddie.” Eddie said.
“My name’s Erin.” Erin said.
“I’m Bobby.” I said.
A dude with an English accent walked up to us and told Madison & Vida to get back to work and he asked who we were. Madison said that we were her cousin & his friends and the guy introduced himself as Xander Bly. We introduced ourselves and he noticed my duel disk. He asked what it was and I told him that it was a duel disk. Me saying that excited this redheaded dude who ran up and asked if I really was a duelist. I put my deck into my duel disk and he said that it was awesome. He introduced himself as Chip Thorn and he asked if I was there to compete in the tournament at the Briarwood Plaza. I told him that I was and he asked if he could go check it out. I said that he’d have to ask his boss and Chip ran to ask Toby. A Latino-looking dude walked up to us and Vida & Madison introduced us to him. His name was Nick Russell and they told us that Nick had a motorcycle that he worked on regularly. We found that to be cool and I shook his hand.
Suddenly, I had a vision. In the vision, I saw these hideous creatures that looked like zombies, five giant humanoid creatures, two of which looked more human while another was small, a knight, black horse, a gigantic centaur, a dragon, a cyborg-like demon, a woman with bat-like features, four more giant animals, metal, stones, the moon, sound waves, and four colors. I also saw a troll & a goblin fuse together, two human women with long hair, a forest, a gigantic tree that had technology inside, and a mysterious book. It was really weird.
The vision, which had lasted like a couple of seconds, was not intense because I was still standing when it ended and I checked my watch again. I realized that I needed to go register for the tournament, which started the next day, and I told my friends that I had to go. Chip offered to show us where the tournament was being held and I took him up on his offer since I didn’t know my way around Briarwood.
Vida volunteered to come along since she had a car and Madison, Nick & Xander decided to come along too. They told Toby that they were gonna take a break so they could help me get to the plaza and the nine of us walked out of the store. Xander noticed Piston Head and asked who’s car it was. His jaw dropped when I said that it was mine and that I built it. We climbed into Vida’s jeep, while Nick got on his bike, Gustavo got into his car, and Eddie & Erin climbed into Piston Head, and we left for the plaza.

When we got there, we got out and I put my deck into my duel disk. I walked up to the table and registered for the tournament by signing a sheet of paper. I was told to come back at 1:00P.M. the next day and I thanked the tournament employees. I walked over to my friends and they asked if I had finished. I said that I had and I heard a weird beeping noise.
Nick pulled out a cool-looking cell phone and he answered it. He told Madison, Vida, Chip & Xander that Toby needed them back at the store to help customers and Erin asked if we could tag along. They said that we couldn’t because it was getting really hectic and Eddie offered to help. I told him that it was okay and the five of them left. Gustavo asked why we didn’t go with them and I told my friends to follow me as I started walking towards Piston Head.
“Bobby, what is going on? Why couldn’t we go back to the Rock Porium to help them?” Gustavo asked.
“Because they’re not going back to the Rock Porium.” I said.
“How do you know?” Eddie asked.
“Two things. One: I heard a female voice talking on Nick’s phone and so it wasn’t Toby calling.” I said.
“And what was the other?” Gustavo asked.
“You had a vision, didn’t you?” Erin asked.
“Yeah. It happened when I shook Nick’s hand. I saw a variety of things. Including a forest. There’s only one forest near here and I overheard a fellow duelist tell someone that nobody was allowed to go into it because no one ever came out of it.” I explained.
“Whoa. So what do you have planned?” Eddie asked.
“We’re going into that forest. The female voice told Nick to get to the forest because something was happening. That was all I could hear.” I said.
“Coolness. Let’s go.” Gustavo said.
“I’ve got Star Slinger of the Voyagerbots beaming me pictures of routes to the woods, dad.” Piston Head said.
“Good. Let’s go, guys.” I said.
Erin, Eddie & I climbed into Piston Head as Gustavo climbed into his car and I told Gustavo to follow us in Piston Head. Piston Head started up his engine and we headed to the forest.
When we got there, we got out and walked up to the forest entrance. I asked my friends if they were ready to explore it and they said that they were. We entered the forest and began exploring it.
As we explored the forest, I felt something weird at some point and I wondered if my friends felt it. I asked them if they felt anything weird and Gustavo said that he felt weird the moment we entered the forest. Eddie said that he didn’t feel anything and Erin said that she didn’t feel anything either. They asked why and I said that it was probably nothing. To be on the safe side, I switched my glasses to ecto-specs mode in case there was anything supernatural in the forest.
After an hour had passed, we decided to take a break and we leaned against some trees. I pulled my deck out and began to shuffle & draw cards to get myself ready for the tournament as Erin drank some water. Eddie practiced some of his martial arts and Gustavo was obviously thinking about where Madison & Vida were. It was then that something caught my eye. I put my cards away and walked up to something in the ground.

I found what looked like four sticks with four oddly shaped, colored crystal things on them and I called Eddie, Erin & Gustavo over to check it out. We all thought it was interesting and each picked one up. I picked up the purple one while Erin picked up the silver one. Eddie got the brown one and Gustavo chose the orange one. They each seemed to glow briefly and we realized that the sticks looked more like wands. They looked really cool and we decided to continue looking for Nick & the others.
Suddenly, my spider-sense went off and my ecto-specs started to pick something up as a weird, magic circle appeared in the ground some distance ahead of us. Out came these hideous, zombie-like creatures, which were classified as Class 7s, holding clubs and they looked exactly like one of the ugly creatures from my vision. Then they attacked us.
Erin & I knew that we couldn’t reveal our powers in front of Gustavo and Eddie knew he couldn’t use his Earth Ninja abilities as well. So, we agreed to flee and we started running. My spider-sense went off again as the creatures blasted us and we went flying. The creatures surrounded us and we decided that the time had come to fight. The creatures proved to be really strong but I managed to use some of my spider-strength to hold them off. Gustavo got tossed into a tree and Eddie was sent flying when some of the creatures blasted him with something they fired from their faces as Erin got knocked down. I got caught off guard and got sent flying onto my friends.
The creatures were about to try & finish us off when something blasted them. We saw five people in pink, blue, yellow, green & red uniforms with capes appear before us and they attacked the zombie creatures. It was the five Power Rangers we had heard about. Their visors were shaped like a bull, two birds, a fish tail & a butterfly and they looked really cool. The Yellow & Green Ranger asked if we were all right and I thought that they sounded very familiar. I said that we were and the two of them joined their teammates.
As the battle we were watching progressed, we were in total awe of how they fought. I noticed that the Rangers were utilizing magic as they fought the creatures using these staffs that hung from their sides like sidearms. The Red Ranger turned his staff into a sword and started striking the zombie creatures down. The Green Ranger turned his staff into an axe and sent a surge of energy through the ground to blast the zombie creatures after he slammed it into the ground. The Yellow Ranger turned his staff into a crossbow and fired laser arrows at the creatures. The Pink Ranger turned her cape into big fairy-like wings and blew the creatures away with a gust of wind as the Blue Ranger, who was a girl, summoned some geysers to send a bunch flying. I saw one of the creatures getting ready to attack the Red Ranger from behind and I quickly pulled one of my cards out of my deck. I concentrated my magic into the card and said the magic words.
“Hakao Banoo Livos! Machine King, I summon you! Protect the Red Ranger!” I said as I brought the monster card to life.
My Machine King appeared behind the Red Ranger and I told him to use Rocket Fist Barrage to stop the creature. He did and the creature was destroyed. The Red Ranger turned around and saw Machine King. He jumped into the air and I, after realizing what he was about to do, jumped in front of Machine King. I used my arms to deflect the Red Ranger’s sword and told him that Machine King was on his side. A flash of light erupted from the crystal things on the sticks we found and the Red Ranger backed up. He asked where we got the sticks and we said that we found them.

“Dispel Aerotan!” he yelled.
From out of the blue came four flying broomsticks. I grabbed hold of one, while Eddie, Erin & Gustavo did the same, and we went flying through the air. The Rangers flew alongside us on what looked like futuristic brooms and Eddie asked where we were going. The Pink Ranger said that we’d see as she flew past us. The other Rangers followed her and we arrived at the biggest tree I had ever seen in my life. The brooms dropped us off at the base of the tree and we saw what looked like an opening in the tree. I asked my friends if they wanted to check it out and we all agreed to. We stepped inside the tree and the opening closed behind us.
The next thing we knew, we were in a really cool room that reminded me of the Dino Cave & Ninja Ops. It had tons of technology in it and a lot of wood. There was even a crystal ball in the middle of the room and I noticed a book.
“Whoa. What is this place?” Gustavo asked.
“It’s called Root Core. This is our base of operations.” the Blue Ranger said as she & the other Rangers appeared.
“This place looks sweet! Makes me think of one of my roommates because of all the wood.” Erin said.
“Very cool. Never would have thought about having a secret base inside a tree. Underground & underwater. But not in a tree.” I said.
“Or in a clock tower.” Eddie said.
“True.” I said.
“Very wooden in here.” Gustavo said.
“Welcome, friends. I am the Sorceress Udonna. Welcome to Root Core.” a mysterious woman in white said as she appeared on a higher part of the room.
“What is going on?” Erin asked.
“Shortly after you walked into the forest, you stepped into a magical dimension.” Udonna said.
“I thought I felt something when we were walking through the forest!” I said.
“Correct. Behold the Xenotome – The Book Of The Unknown. Years ago, a great evil called the Undead conquered this land. They were on their way to attack & conquer your world but we, the forces of good, intercepted & fought them. Five Mystic Wizards battled the Undead at the portal that led to your world. All the while, four other Mystic Wizards were battling the rest of the Undead in a distant part of the forest. The four Mystic Wizards used every ounce of strength they had to defeat & banish the Undead to the Underworld as the five other Mystic Wizards did the same with the rest of the Undead. I gathered the wands of the five Mystic Wizards who gave their lives on the frontline but never found the other four wands. Now the evil forces of the Undead are getting stronger.” Udonna explained after she opened up a weird-looking book.
“And that has what to do with us?” Gustavo asked.
“You found those wands. They chose you and now you must fulfill your destinies & become the four new members of the Power Rangers Mystic Force!” Udonna said as she pointed to the sticks we had found.
“Are you serious? That rocks!” Gustavo said as we looked at our Magic Wands.
“Totally!” Erin said she & Eddie gave each other a high five.
“Out of retirement? Yes!” I thought to myself as I nodded.
“All you have to do is believe in magic and you will be able to utilize the weapons & magic as you learn.” Udonna said.
“Udonna, one of them all ready believes in magic.” the Pink Ranger said as she & the other Rangers powered down.

“Madison?!? Vida?!? Girls, you’re the Blue & Pink Rangers?!?” Gustavo asked in shock.
We saw Nick, Madison, Vida, Xander & Chip wearing cool clothes with cloaks and we were all shocked to see that they were the Mystic Force Rangers. Nick was the Red Ranger. Madison was the Blue Ranger like my friend/fellow Wind Ninja Academy Sensei Tori Hanson. Vida was the Pink Ranger. Chip was the Yellow Ranger. And Xander was the Green Ranger. I realized that that was why the Green & Yellow Rangers sounded familiar and why I had the vision after I shook Nick’s hand.
“Which one all ready believes, Vida?” Udonna asked.
“It’s Bobby, Udonna. He conjured up a robot to help Nick and Nick attacked it but Bobby stepped in the way.” Madison said.
“It wasn’t just any robot, Madison. It was a Duel Monster called Machine King!” Chip said in excitement.
“Which one of you is Bobby?” Udonna asked.
“That would be me, Udonna.” I said as I stepped forward.
“I sense a great deal of magic flowing through your veins. You must have descended from a great & powerful wizard.” Udonna said.
“Guilty. I have a famous ancestor.” I said.
Udonna was about to ask another question when a girl with long, blonde hair walked into the room. She looked a bit like my best friend Melanie and she was amazed to see Eddie, Erin, Gustavo & I. She introduced herself as Clare, Udonna’s apprentice, and asked what was going on. Chip said that Eddie, Erin, Gustavo & I were new Rangers and Clare was in awe of it. I asked about the zombie creatures and Xander said that they were called Hidiacs & that they were one of two sets of soldiers of the Undead. I asked what the other set was called and Nick said that they were called Styxoids & they were more powerful.
An alarm went off and we all gathered around the Crystal Ball in the middle of the room. We saw Hidiacs & a bat-like woman called Necrolai in the forest, who I had seen in my vision, and they looked like they were searching for something. Udonna said that they were probably looking for the four magic wands and she told Nick & the others to go stop them. Nick & the others ran out of Root Core and left to go fight Necrolai & the Hidiacs while Eddie, Erin, Gustavo & I stayed behind.
We asked Udonna if we could help them and she said that we should stay because the Hidiacs would get the wands if we went out there. I told Udonna that I had experience dealing with creatures like the Hidiacs and she asked how I got experience. I said that I’d tell her later and Gustavo said that he didn’t want to stay while his cousins could be getting hurt and he left. Eddie, Erin & I agreed to go after him and we left Root Core, unknowingly without our wands.
Minutes later, we caught up to Gustavo and we told him that he wasn’t gonna face the Hidiacs by himself. He thanked us and Eddie told him that it was what friends were for. Then we went to go help the Rangers.
When we got there, Nick & the other Rangers, who had morphed, were fighting the Hidiacs as Necrolai walked past them continuing to look for the wands. We approached her and told her to stop where she was. She called us stupid humans and my spider-sense went off as she blasted us. Vida jumped in the way and took the hit. She told us to get out of there and we told her that we weren’t going anywhere. More Hidiacs appeared and Eddie, Gustavo, Erin & I fanned out to fight them.

Eddie started using some of his Earth Ninja abilities like the Ninja Dirt Dive as Gustavo used some impressive fighting skills. Erin used her mutant telekinetic powers to create a force field & push Hidiacs away as I used my spider-strength & Ninja Steel Fist attack to fend off the Hidiacs. But my three friends got caught off guard and hit the ground hard. I used my magic to summon my Proton Pack and fired a Proton Stream to blast the Hidiacs but it didn’t work and I got sent flying into a tree. The Hidiacs were about to attack me again when I remembered what Udonna had said about believing in magic and I knew what I had to do, after I used my magic to return my Proton Pack, which wasn’t too badly damaged, from where it was.
“I believe in magic!” I yelled.
With that, a big metal wall rose from the ground and the Hidiacs crashed into it. It reminded me of cartoon characters that would run and crash into walls. I was amazed and I told my friends to believe in magic too.
“I believe in magic!” Eddie said, which resulted in the Hidiacs getting pelted by rocks as though they were in the middle of a meteor shower.
“I believe in magic!” Gustavo said to cause his voice to become a shockwave of sound & knock the Hidiacs down.
“I believe in magic!” Erin said to cause some Hidiacs to become lighter than air & heavier than a skyscraper, which meant that she gained the ability to control gravity, which was like her mutant powers got amplified or something too.
Nick & the other Rangers congratulated us for believing in magic and something started happening. Our clothes changed and we were wearing the same kind of clothes & cloaks the Rangers were wearing back at Root Core. Our wands appeared and turned into cell phones. Chip said that those were our Mystic Morphers and there were different Spell Codes that we had to learn in order to unlock spells as we were checking them out. Two number combinations briefly glowed, which we were told were the Morph & Mystic Racer Codes, and my spider-sense went off.
“I should have known you’d fail to find those wands, hag.” a dark purple knight with a shield, gray wolf heads on his shoulders & an orange W on his chest, who was the knight I saw in my vision, said as he appeared.
“Who’s the medieval reject?” Eddie asked.
“That’s Koragg, the Knight Wolf. He’s bad news.” Nick said.
“Koragg, I would have found them if those four humans hadn’t gotten to them first!” Necrolai said.
“No excuses, Necrolai. I brought a monster to help get those wands back!” Koragg said as a monster called Pinchfist, who looked like the Decepticon Squeezeplay, appeared.
“You guys ready to have your first battle as Power Rangers?” Vida asked.
“You bet, cuz!” Gustavo said.
“Been itching to kick some evil butt!” Eddie said.
“Always been a dream of mine.” Erin said.
“Oh yeah!” I said as I recalled my past experiences as a Ranger.
“Go for it!” Chip said.
“Magical Source, Mystic Force!” Eddie, Erin, Gustavo & I said as we switched our morphers to Wand Mode & punched in the Spell Code 1-2-3 to activate the Morph Spell.
“Galwit Mysto Ranger!” a voice said as we activated our morphers.

“Tough As Metal – Purple Mystic Ranger! Heavy As Stone – Brown Mystic Ranger! Illuminating As The Moon – Silver Mystic Ranger! Booming As Sound – Orange Mystic Ranger!” we said after we became Rangers.
It was amazing! Our suits looked just like Nick & the other Rangers’ suits. Eddie became the Brown Mystic Force Ranger and his visor was shaped like a ram. Even his sidearm, which was called a Magi Staff just like the other Rangers’, had a crystal that was shaped just like the crystal on his magic wand before it became his morpher on top of it. Erin became the Silver Mystic Force Ranger and her visor & Magi Staff crystal were in the shape of an owl. Gustavo became the Orange Mystic Force Ranger and his visor & Magi Staff’s crystal were shaped like a cobra. And I became the Purple Mystic Force Ranger and my visor & Magi Staff’s crystal were shaped like a beetle. The mystical energy surging through us felt incredible! It reminded me of when I first became the Purple Galaxy Ranger back in 1999 and it felt even greater to be out of retirement.
Necrolai said that it didn’t matter that there was now nine Rangers because they were still gonna destroy us and Koragg summoned Styxoids, which were definitely uglier than the Hidiacs. The nine of us fanned out and began fighting the Undead.
Xander slid the wings of his Magi Staff down and swung it as he held it upside down. Some magical energy swarmed it and the wings got bigger & longer to create his Magi Staff Axe Mode. Xander began striking the Hidiacs down as Chip did the same thing with his Magi Staff but they extended & became bow-like in appearance as the handle became longer to form the Magi Staff Crossbow Mode instead. Chip fired his Magi Staff Crossbow like a blaster and Nick slid the wings of his Magi Staff down. A blade shot out of the bottom as the handle became longer & formed the Magi Staff Sword Mode and Nick attacked Koragg.
Eddie slid the wings of his Magi Staff down, swung it around and the wings extended, just like Chip’s, but became round & thick as the handle got longer to form the Magi Staff Hammer Mode. Eddie began swinging it around and hammering down the Hidiacs like his Sensei used to. Gustavo slid the wings of his Magi Staff down and the part where a blade would have extended, if it was forming a Sword Mode like Nick’s, extended about six feet to form the Magi Staff Whip Mode. Gustavo began swinging the Magi Staff Whip around to strike the Hidiacs & Styxoids and take their weapons from them before striking them down. I decided to give it a whirl and sling the wings of my Magi Staff down. I swung it around as magical energy swarmed it and the wings transformed into two jagged-edged claws as the handle of the Magi Staff extended to form the Magi Staff Grappler Mode. I lunged my Magi Staff Grappler at a nearby Hidiac and the Grappler closed on the Hidiac. The Hidiac tried to get free but couldn’t and I sent the Hidiac flying before I used it to strike down some more Hidiacs & Styxoids.

The girls’ Magi Staffs didn’t change shape but they each used them to fight differently. Madison summoned a jet stream of water to hose down a bunch of Hidiacs while Vida used her Magi Staff to make her cape become giant fairy wings. The wings started flapping and created a powerful gust that sent Hidiacs flying as Erin used her Magi Staff to make Hidiacs dance in the air by manipulating their gravity before Necrolai attacked her, Madison & Vida. Chip was about to help them when Pinchfist attacked him. Xander decided to help Chip while Eddie, Gustavo & I finished off the Hidiacs & Styxoids. I went to help Chip & Xander fight Pinchfist as Gustavo & Eddie went to help the girls since Nick seemed to be holding his own against Koragg.
I swung my Magi Staff Grappler and struck Pinchfist as he held Chip & Xander by their throats. The hit caused Pinchfist to let them go and I stood between Xander, Chip & Pinchfist as I prepared to fight Pinchfist. I conjured up a small piece of metal and threw it at Pinchfist. I zapped it with my Magi Staff, which had reverted back to its original shape, causing it became a ball & chain that restrained Pinchfist. He couldn’t move an inch because the ball was stopping him in his tracks and Eddie, Gustavo & the girls joined up with us after they sent Necrolai packing back to the Underworld. Nick managed to beat Koragg using one of his Power Of The Phoenix attacks and Koragg fled as Nick joined up with us.
Nick asked if we were ready to finish off Pinchfist and we said we were as we held out our Magi Staffs. We waved the Magi Staffs around to summon some magical energy and combined the energy into a large magical sphere before firing it at Pinchfist as a Mystic Element Burst, which had the creatures that our visors were shaped like flying together in the energy like the Wild Force Megazord’s Mega Roar, to defeat him. Our morphers beeped and we realized that Gustavo, Erin, Eddie & I had unlocked yet another Spell Code.
Suddenly, a spell seal appeared and Pinchfist literally pulled himself together before growing into a giant. I asked about summoning the zords and Vida said that we didn’t need to summon the zords. I was confused but Chip cleared it up by telling me that they became the zords. Gustavo, Erin, Eddie & I went wide eyed as Nick & the others pulled out their Mystic Morphers and switched it to Wand Mode. They grabbed their capes, spun around and held their morphers in the air.
“Mystic Titans!” they said.
“Galwit Mysto Prifior!” a voice said as they punched in the Spell Code 1-2-5.
“Mystic Minotaur! Mystic Sprite! Mystic Mermaid! Mystic Garuda! Mystic Phoenix!” Xander, Vida, Madison, Chip & Nick said as spell seals appeared & changed them into the Mystic Titans.
“Ancient Power, Mystic Titans!” they said when they became the Mystic Titans.
It was amazing to see the five of them go from Rangers to human-shaped zords. Xander had become the Mystic Minotaur and was equipped with a massive Minotaur Axe. Vida became the Mystic Sprite and she was the smallest of the Mystic Titans. Madison became the Mystic Mermaid and she had a Mermaid Trident while her legs were able to become a tail. Chip became the Mystic Garuda, which was a bird-like creature, and he had wings that allowed him to fly. Nick became the Mystic Phoenix, the most human-looking of the Mystic Titans, and he was equipped with a Phoenix Sword.

The five of them attacked Pinchfist but didn’t seem to be fairing so well. Vida turned into a Sprite Ball and the others took turns sending her flying. Xander started things off by swatting her like a tennis ball with his Minotaur Axe. Madison dove into the water, shot out of the water and kicked it with the back of her tail like a dolphin. Chip used his wings to catch it and spun around before throwing the Sprite Ball. Nick ran under it, jumped into the air, did a midair back flip and kicked the Sprite Ball in a way that would have made my pal Conner McKnight, a former Red Ranger, proud. The Sprite Ball got energized from the passing & kicking as it flew at Pinchfist but he batted it down like a soccer goalie. The Mystic Titans decided to combine, after Vida turned back into the Mystic Sprite, and Chip, Madison, Vida & Xander started glowing as they shot up into the air.
“Mystic Titans Dragon Formation!” they said.
The Mystic Minotaur horizontally spun around and two legs with clawed feet extended from the back of it while his arms just dangled. The Mystic Mermaid retracted her head and her feet became a tail before latching into the Mystic Minotaur’s own feet to form a tail. The clawed feet bent back for a minute as the Mystic Garuda flew above it and also horizontally spun around. The Mystic Garuda’s wings & feet combined, which caused the wings to extend, as he connected to the Mystic Minotaur forming the wings & back. The Mystic Sprite hovered in front of it, vertically spun around & bent in half to form a dragon’s head, with the Mystic Sprite’s wings forming horns, and connected to the Mystic Garuda. The dragon head extended outward to reveal a neck and the four Mystic Titans became the Titan Megazord Dragon Mode. Nick jumped onto it to ride it as he held the Titan Saber, which was composed of the Mermaid Trident, Minotaur Axe & Phoenix Sword, and they flew at Pinchfist.
Pinchfist fired lasers from his claws at them but they dodged the blasts and sent some fireballs at Pinchfist. They flew in and were about to strike Pinchfist when he grabbed the Titan Saber. Pinchfist knocked Nick/Mystic Phoenix off the Dragon and then blasted the Dragon causing it to break apart. Nick told them that they should try forming the Megazord and they agreed with him.
“Galwit Mysto Unios!” all five of them said.
This time all five of them started glowing and shot up into the sky. The Mystic Minotaur once again horizontally rotated but the clawed feet didn’t extend. They instead bent back, along with the toes, to form the body & arms as the Mystic Mermaid retracted her head & had her feet become a tail again. She then split into two & linked up to the Mystic Minotaur and bent her tailfins forward to form the legs. The Mystic Garuda horizontally rotated and his legs combined with his wings to make the wings longer as he connected to the Mystic Minotaur to form the wings & back. The Mystic Minotaur’s back split opened and his horns folded together to form a head with a hat.
The Mystic Phoenix & Mystic Sprite flew in front of the Mystic Minotaur and the Mystic Phoenix bent his legs upward to link up with the sides of his body as he retracted his head. The Mystic Sprite vertically spun around & bent in half to form the Dragon Mode’s head & flew into the Mystic Phoenix as his shoulders came together. The Mystic Sprite’s wings bent back as they linked up with the Mystic Minotaur, which also formed the arms, to form the chest and the five Mystic Titans became the Titan Megazord. This Megazord was as cool as the Thundersaurus, Hurricane, Isis, Quantasaurus, Omega & Galaxy Megazords. The Titan Megazord attacked Pinchfist and Pinchfist punched the Titan Megazord so hard that it looked like it really hurt.

The Titan Megazord pulled the Titan Saber out and struck Pinchfist with it. It tried a second time but Pinchfist caught it and blasted it at pointblank range. I suggested to Eddie, Erin & Gustavo that we help the Megazord out and we agreed to use the second Spell Code that we got after we got our morphers. We switched our Mystic Morphers to Wand Mode and punched in the Spell Code 1-2-9 as we held them into the air.
“Galwit Mysto Aerotan!” we yelled when we did that.
The brooms that carried us to Root Core flew in and turned into futuristic technological versions called the Mystic Racers. We hopped on and the part where a broom’s brush would be started spinning. We took off into the air and flew towards Pinchfist & the Titan Megazord.
We began buzzing around Pinchfist like a swarm of annoying bees as we used our Magi Staffs to blast him with magical energy. Gustavo even had his Magi Staff go to Whip Mode and struck Pinchfist with it like a bee stinging someone. We scattered when Pinchfist tried to blast us and we continued to bombard him with magical energy.
This allowed Nick & the others to recuperate and they told us that they’d take care of it. They had the Titan Megazord sprout its wings and a beam of light shot out of the Titan Saber making a spell seal appear as we parked our Mystic Racers. The Megazord flew through the seal, using the Mystic Garuda’s wings, and dive-bombed Pinchfist as it sent five of the spirits of the Ancient Titans, who represented our individual elements, before striking Pinchfist. But Pinchfist stopped the attack in its tracks and blasted the Megazord causing it to break apart into the five Mystic Titans.
We knew we had to do something to stop Pinchfist and our morphers beeped. We opened them and some numbers glowed. We got another Spell Code and we decided to use both it & the one we got when we defeated Pinchfist before he grew, which was the Spell Code for the Mystic Titans. We switched our morphers to Wand Mode, punched in the Spell Code 1-2-5, which was the third Spell Code we had unlocked, and spun around while holding our capes.
“Mystic Titans!” we yelled.
“Galwit Mysto Prifior!” the voice from our morphers said.
Spell seals appeared in the sky and lowered down onto us. We could feel our bodies changing from Ranger to zord as the spell seal passed through us from head to toe. The next thing we knew, we were not human-shaped Titans but beast-shaped Titans. Eddie became the Mystic Ram and it was as big as the Mystic Minotaur in size & was equipped with a powerful pair of horns. Erin became the Mystic Owl and had wings like the Mystic Garuda. Gustavo became the Mystic Cobra and he had a set of fangs that could scare a mongoose. He reminded me of the Cobra Stormzord that I used to pilot back when I was a Ninja Storm Ranger. And I became the Mystic Beetle. I looked like a giant rhino beetle, which was the naturally strongest animal on the planet, and I had two horns like one.
“This is phenomenal!” Eddie said.
“Tell me about it. Now I can fly like a bird!” Erin said as she flapped her wings.
“I feel s-s-s-super!” Gustavo said trying to sound like a real snake.
“I never would have thought becoming a zord would be as cool as piloting one!” I said.
“Could you guys save the admiring for later and destroy the monster?” Vida said.
“Sure, Vida. Let’s go, guys!” I said.

Erin took to the sky and I hopped onto her back to get a ride. Gustavo got a ride from Eddie and the four of us charged at Pinchfist. Pinchfist fired lasers at us but we scattered and took turns attacking him. Erin used the crest on her head & her wings to fire a gravitational Moon Beam that paralyzed Pinchfist, after I jumped off her back. Gustavo used his body to spring off of Eddie before he extended his fangs, and struck Pinchfist as he was flying at the speed of sound for a Sonic Boom Fang Attack.
Eddie & I decided to double team Pinchfist and I used my horns to lift a small part of a mountain. I tossed it to Eddie who used his hard head & horns to bat the mountain chunk at Pinchfist for a Ram Stone Headbutt and I charged at Pinchfist. I hit him in the leg with a Metal Horn Strike and Pinchfist fell down. We all agreed that it was time to use the fourth Spell Code we had gotten, which was 1-2-8, and we started to combine.
Two small compartments opened up on the Mystic Ram/Eddie’s back and Gustavo bounced over the one near Eddie’s rear end. Gustavo straightened himself out and landed in the compartment, with his head sticking out of it, to form a tail. Erin flew in and landed in the compartment at the base of Eddie’s neck to form the back & wings and I lunged at Eddie’s head. I latched on as I had my horns rotate to form the head. We became the Mystic Kirin and told Nick that he could jump on.
Nick/Mystic Phoenix jumped onto our back & landed behind Erin’s wings and we took to the sky. Pinchfist fired at us but we dodged it before the blasts even got near us and Nick struck Pinchfist using the Titan Saber. Pinchfist became so disoriented that we took advantage of it and powered up. We flew at Pinchfist head on and hit him with a Mystic Streak that was done by us flying past & slashing him with the Titan Saber, my horns & Gustavo’s fangs before Pinchfist even knew what hit him. Pinchfist fell to the ground and was destroyed.
We broke apart and the nine of us Titans celebrated over our first victory. Then we reverted back to Rangers, powered down, and headed back to Root Core.
“Good job, Rangers. You did well.” Udonna said after we got back.
“Thank you, Udonna.” I said.
Udonna used her magic wand to cast a spell and the inside of the Root Core changed. Four more rotating panels, which were used to fly out of Root Core via the Mystic Racers, appeared and the symbols on our visors & Magic Staffs appeared alongside the other Rangers’ on the wall. Xander welcomed us to the team and we thanked him. Our morphers beeped and Eddie, Gustavo, Erin & I got most of the Spell Codes that Nick & the others all ready had.
“Now, I must tell you about what it means to be a Mystic Force Ranger.” Udonna said as she approached the Xenotome.
“What kind of rules, Udonna?” Gustavo asked.
“Just two. First, you will come to Root Core to learn to harness your mystic powers. And second, you must not tell anyone about your identities as Rangers or about magic. Trust nobody but your teammates.” Udonna said.

“Uh, Udonna?” I said as I raised my hand.
“Yes, Bobby?” Udonna asked.
“Eddie, Erin & I know of a group of people we can trust with this. Our roommates.” I said.
“And how do you know you can trust them?” Clare asked.
“Should we tell them, guys?” I asked as I looked at Eddie & Erin.
“Go ahead. They’ll find out eventually. Why not now?” Erin said.
“Okay. Us & our roommates, except Eddie, have powers outside of magic.” I said.
“Did you know, cuz?” Madison asked Gustavo.
“No I didn’t.” Gustavo said.
“What kind of powers?” Chip asked eagerly.
“Human-born mutant powers.” Erin said.
“Could you tell us what kind of powers you were born with?” Nick asked.
“Why don’t we show you?” I said.
The eleven of us left Root Core and Udonna led us to a quarry with a bunch of large rocks. She suggested we display our powers there and Erin went first.
Erin displayed her telekinesis by levitating Xander & the rock that he was sitting on and she asked Nick to send some fire at her so she could show off how she could use her telekinetic abilities defensively. Nick did as she asked and she created a force field. She demonstrated her telepathic abilities by reading Xander’s mind. She said that he once started literally branching out & nearly became a tree after he used a potion that Clare used to make her flowers perfect and we started cracking up.
I was up next and I demonstrated my telepathic abilities by reading Chip’s mind & stating how he owes a lot to Vida because she defended him when people picked on him. I started picking up the scent of something rank and I asked what was causing it. Clare asked if a sense of smell was my other power and I said that my other mutant power involved my eyes. I took my glasses off, put my visor on, and prepared to focus on firing an optic force beam at a rock at the far end of the quarry.
“Hi there!” a weird creature said as he appeared out of nowhere.
I ended up blasting him with an optic force beam at pointblank range and sent him flying by accident. I asked what that creature was and Nick told me that I had just blasted their friend Phineas. I asked what Phineas was and Nick said that Phineas was a Troblin, which was the result of a union between a troll & a goblin, which also meant that Phineas was that goblin/troll fusion I saw in my vision. I said that capture those things & lock them up when they cause trouble for a living and I confessed to being the leader of the West Coast Extreme Ghostbusters. Vida asked if that thing I used to fight the Hidiacs was part of the equipment that I used and I said that it was my Proton Pack. I decided to demonstrate my non-mutant powers and ran to get Phineas.
I ended up kicking up a cloud of dust and I brought Phineas back within seconds. I shook Phineas’ hand, before vibrating the molecules in my arm to get the gross smell & gunk off, and introduced myself as the new Purple Ranger. I introduced him to Eddie, Erin & Gustavo and he said that it was always great to make new friends. I told him that I was sorry for busting & trapping any troll & goblin cousins he might have had and he said that both sides hated him so it was okay. I apologized for the dust and explained to them about being struck by lightning & gaining the ability to run speeds over 700MPH. I told them that I had other powers besides my mutant ones & speed and I told Nick to surround me with fire. Nick conjured up some fire and I stepped into the middle of the flames. I absorbed the heat and Nick asked what would happen next. I created a fireball and chucked it at a rock causing it to melt. I said that I gained heat absorption/emitting abilities when I was a kid and I concentrated on the image of the Maximal Silverbolt’s beast mode.

Within a minute, I had turned into a winged wolf and used thought-speech to explain my ability to turn into any animal I touched. I turned back into myself and I asked Erin to use her powers to send a big rock flying at me. She used her powers to bring a medium-sized boulder off top of the quarry and had it fly at me. I caught it with my bare hands, tossed it up and punched it. The hit caused the boulder to shatter and Gustavo asked how I was able to do what I had just done.
“I have the strength of a spider. Got bitten trying to acquire its DNA and the spider was a bit radioactive. I also gained the ability to cling to any surface, spider-agility, the ability to sense danger, which alerted me of the Hidiacs attacking, and the ability to fire webs out of organic web-shooters in my wrists. I had to use web-shooters I made myself before the organic ones appeared on my 19th birthday.” I said as I demonstrated each power.
“That’s so cool!” Chip said.
“That’s nothing, Chip. Check this out!” I said as I began focusing.
Adamantium spikes jutted out of my body and I extended my Adamantium claws. I shouted “Spike Shot!” as I fired several of the spikes in every direction but the one my friends were. I slashed a fragment of the rock I punched with my claws into tiny pebbles and Xander asked what kind of metal my claws & spikes were made out of. I chanted the spell that allowed me to perform the Magic X-Ray, a spell I learned when I was ten, and told my friends about how the radioactive spider venom in my veins reacted with the Adamantium that was bonded to my skeleton resulting in my claws & self-replicating exoskeleton. They all found it to be really cool and they promised to not tell anyone about our powers. I thanked them and Eddie, Erin & I showed off our Pokémon. Our friends thought they all looked really cool and we thanked them for saying that.
Udonna gave us the okay to tell our roommates because she could tell that we definitely trusted them and Erin thanked her. I used my magic to keep Phineas from doing anything weird to the Pokémon and Udonna asked about my magic. I confessed that Merlin was my ancestor and everybody, minus Eddie & Erin, went wide eyed with amazement.
Udonna asked when I first discovered my magic and I said that it happened about fifteen years ago when I got mad at somebody at school. She said that it was around the time of the war that resulted in the Undead being banished to the Underworld. This amazed me and I realized that my magic must have manifested because of the battle. I confessed to having a vision when I shook Nick’s hand and that everything that happened had come true. Everything but the horse, the centaur & the cyborg-like demon and Nick told me that the horse was Catastros. He said that Catastros belonged to Koragg and Koragg could merge with Catastros to become both a centaur & the Centaurus Wolf Megazord. He told me that he once combined with Catastros to form the Centaurus Phoenix Megazord after healing him and I found that to be really awesome. I asked about the cyborg demon and Udonna said that it was Koragg & Necrolai’s boss named Morticon. Phineas said that Morticon worked for the Supreme Master and I asked if someone could e-mail me the info & some pictures of the Undead & the monsters that had been destroyed. Chip offered to and I gave him my e-mail address.
We all realized that it was getting late and we agreed to meet at the plaza for lunch before the Duel Monsters tournament. Udonna told us to use the trees to leave the forest and Xander told us what she meant.
“Just put your hand on a tree and think about a tree that’s where you want to go. You’ll instantly be transported through trees, roots, branches & leaves until you arrive at your desired destination.” Xander explained.
I thought about one of the trees in front of where Piston Head was parked as I put my hand on the tree and I was instantly transported to one of the trees in front of Piston Head. I shot out of the tree and Piston Head transformed out of shock. I told my son to relax and accessed my Mystic Morpher. I told Eddie, Erin & Gustavo to think about one of the trees in front of where we parked Piston Head & Gustavo’s car and they shot out of three different trees.
“Dad, what happened in there?” Piston Head asked.
“Let’s just say we’ve discovered a new part of our destinies. Let’s go home. I’m feeling tired.” I said.
“Okay, dad.” Piston Head said before he reverted back to vehicle mode.
As Eddie & Erin climbed into Piston Head, I looked back at the woods. Another door in the neighborhood that was my destiny had opened and it was gonna be really exciting. I climbed into Piston Head and went home.
The next day, I got to the plaza and my fellow Mystic Force Rangers were there to root me on. I used my Metalheads deck and kicked some serious butt without summoning some of my best monsters. I could tell that my new friends were amazed at my dueling ability and I made it to the final round. My final challenger had a deck that had really strong monsters but I relied on my trap & spell cards to stop him in his tracks quite a lot until I was able to summon both my Machine King & XYZ-Dragon Cannon. Utilizing both of their special abilities with my DNA Surgery trap card, which allowed me to turn all of my opponent’s monsters into Machine-Types, and Limiter Removal & Fairy Meteor Crush spell cards, I was able to beat him and become champion.
My fellow Rangers ran up and congratulated me on doing such a great job. We all went to a pizzeria to celebrate and we scarfed down a lot of pizza. Chip & Eddie were so full that I had to use my strength to carry them out of the place. We also saved some slices for Udonna, Phineas & Clare and we went to our homes.
