What are some lines or other things that seem fishy to you?
Here is one that bugs me... BILLY: Dog takes 20 pills a day. ROSLIN: I didn't know you had a dog. BILLY: Yeah, big shaggy thing. Jake. (Deleted scene episode 12.) Granted, Billy probably had a "dog" that was a big shaggy thing named Jake, but maybe a "dog" is something completely different from a canine. -------------------- Humanocylons are not Cylons.

If my memory is correct, dogs were called "daggits" in TOS. Boxey's daggit was a robot dog built for him because there were no dogs left. Wouldn't it be interesting if, in TNS, Billy got a daggit instead of Boxey?

This part threw up a red flag to me the very first time I heard it:
ADAMA: This is where you found him? SHARON: Yes, sir. He had drifted quite a ways in the fight. ADAMA: Was she maneuvering? HOTDOG: I think so... yes. Yes, sir. Two lines here make me suspicious. First there is the "drifted quite a ways" line. Why put this into the script at all? Then Hotdog is acting like he is lying. And in general he is acting like he has seen a ghost; perhaps it's not just combat shakes. When Hotdog lost power, he was moving towards the gas giant. After he was rescued, his viper was very close to the gas giant, but no longer moving towards it. It's possible that I'm being fooled by the motion of the camera, but I don't think so. Fishy, fishy, fishy! -------------------- Humanocylons are not Cylons.

Slightly different take on the subject...
...lines that felt like foreshadowing to me. From Bastile Day... Doral: Parents have to die. It's the only way children come into their own. (scene then switches off of Doral and back to Lee Adama. hmmmm) This post has been edited by Roadrunner on Sun 1 May 05, 18:00 -------------------- "This is not just geek crack." -- David Eick, April 2005

Yeah, it struck me when I first saw it, and I wondered if Apollo would kill Zarek (ironic because Zarek is played by Richard Hatch.) Some bright spark got me thinking for five min's about Adama when they mentioned the scene with Leoben in the morgue. Adama holds the telephone in a torch-like manner and says "no". If he were a cylon (and I don't think he is) then this scene would be very significant.

Hmmm.. Maybe it's just me, but I thought he was going to start pummeling the corpse woth it. His "no" was his decision to keep control, and not give into his anger. You raise an interesting point to be considered, though. |

PLAYA: Come on, Jim. Wallace Gray is no prince of darkness.
Bwoop, bwoop, bwoop! Action stations, action stations! Could he be... SATAN?! First of all, Wallace Gray should not exist. And Cloud 9, a frakking huge starship never seen before, should not exist! I just cannot buy the "bad writing" hypothesis. My hypothesis: Time-loop; in episode 11, we viewers are in a different loop than previously, and the loops are not quite identical. Second, the only other people who have said anything remotely Christian are internal Six and Baltar. (Oh yeah, I think Tigh might have had a "Jesus!" exclamation.) Leoben's religious meanderings were about "we are all God" and "God is love," which is more like gnosticism. The Colonials have only spoken about the Lords of Kobol, which are the same as the 12 Olympian gods. -------------------- Humanocylons are not Cylons.

Ok, this is from the mini, so I don't really think it counts, but I'll throw it into the mix anyway.
When they are deciding whether or not to jump to Ragnar to re-arm, Colonel Tigh says, "You don't want to do that. No one's done it for twenty years." (or something along those lines. What is "that"???? At first I thought they were talking about actually making a FTL jump - but then I realized that was silly because in the very beginning Gaeta and Adama were talking about FTL-capable ships making a jump to the outpost. ANd then Cally knew what she didn't like about jumping, how could she know that if it hadn't been attempted in 20 years? So are they talking about actually going to Ragnar? That also seems a little silly to me. Did they run over to a munitions depot containing items that are at least twenty years old, and that no has bothered to check on in 20 years? How do they know that the inventory is still accurate (especially given that they encountered a "thief" when they arrived)? Overall, it's an insignificant line, but it bugs me! |

Sure, the mini counts!
TIGH: Munitions depot confirmed, but we have two problems. One, the Ragnar station is at least three days away at best speed. Two, the entire Cylon fleet is between here and there. ADAMA: Specialist. SPECIALIST: Sir? ADAMA: Bring me our position. SPECIALIST: Yes, sir. TIGH: You don't want to do this. ADAMA: I know I don't. TIGH: Because any sane man wouldn't. It's been, what, 20, 22 years? ADAMA: We trained for this. TIGH: Training is one thing, but if we're off on our calculations by even a few degrees, we could end up in the middle of a sun. ADAMA: No choice. Colonel Tigh, please plot a hyperlight jump from our position to the orbit of Ragnar. TIGH: Yes, sir. Note: In the subtitles it says "the sun," but I hear "a sun," which makes more sense since I think their system is a trinary system. My interpretation is that the Galactica has not jumped in over 20 years, and also the crew is rusty. And the problem is that this is a particularly hairy jump, jumping close to a gas giant, which is itself close to a sun. Even a trained crew on a new ship might have chosen to cruise there (or FTL to a safe distance, then cruise.) Cally would certainly know what jumping is like; she had to jump in training. She may have specifically requested an assignment to Galactica to avoid jumping (without admitting it, of course.) -------------------- Humanocylons are not Cylons.

I think the Galactica hasn't FTL jumped to Ragnar in twenty years. Ragnar probably had regular visits by other ships just not be the big G. Just my 2 cubits.

From the miniseries:
APOLLO: ...and tomorrow I will begin a formal combat patrol around the fleet. ADAMA: Good. Have a good night, Tyrol. APOLLO: (slack jawed, tries to speak, can't, tries to speak, can't, tries again) APOLLO: I just... ADAMA: Why don't we save this for another time, son? (cuts to other scenes then back...) APOLLO: Goodnight, Commander. ADAMA: Goodnight, Captain. Note: Adama is speaking to Lee, no one else. I'm sure. See the Sciffy thread, "What did Adama say?" Also, just a bit before, Six says that "some may not even know they are Cylons at all." Then we see: Tigh Boxey Sharon + 3 anonymous crew members Starbuck Lee + Adama <- fishy scene quoted before Sharon + Boxey Dualla, then Billy Cally, then Tyrol Tigh Starbuck Lee + Adama <- final goodnights quoted before Adama finds note, "There are only 12 Cylon models." Doral Sixes, Leobens, another Doral Cylon commander Sharon Let's see if the writers were trying to give us one huge frakking hint: 1. Six 2. Leoben 3. Doral 4. Sharon 5. Tigh 6. Boxey 7. Starbuck 8. Apollo 9. Commander Adama 10. Dualla 11. Cally Hmmm. Well, it does go over 12 if you include Tyrol and Billy, but I don't necessarily think they should be included. -------------------- Humanocylons are not Cylons.

What Adama says is, "Have a good night, Kiddo." Just a term of endearment for his son. Nothing fishy about that. -------------------- "This is not just geek crack." -- David Eick, April 2005

No frakkin' way. I would stake my life that he does not say "kiddo." I wouldn't stake my life that he does say "Tyrol," because it might be "Tee roll." To hear a sound clip, go to www.pythian.netfirms.com Here is Lee's reaction: ![]() -------------------- Humanocylons are not Cylons.

I have listened to that line about ten times now (someone had a bottle of tequila at stake)
He says "have a good night Tyrol" however, he is not looking at Lee when he says it, I think it may just be bad editing. -------------------- http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BSGEB/

It's not bad editing in the sense that you mean. Watch it an eleventh time. Adama opens a door. It's the door to his own quarters. He enters, while Apollo says, "And tomorrow I'll begin formal combat patrols around the fleet," then Adama says, "Good," while facing away, and then he is turning back towards Lee while he says, "Have a good night, Tyrol." Then Apollo's facial expressions are dramatic. I see shock, then pain, then anger just before he says, "I just..." Then Adama interrupts, "Why don't we... save this for another time, son." Apollo looks disgusted. Then we see some other scenes. Then we see Apollo's jaw muscles flexing, and he said, "Goodnight, Commander," and Adama replies, "Goodnight, Captain." Then Adama closes his cabin door, sees the note, puts on his glasses, and quickly grabs it. It says, "THERE ARE ONLY 12 CYLON MODELS", and Adama makes an angry snort with a matching expression and turns to lock his door. Does the angry snort make sense without assuming Adama is a Cylon? Since I had to watch the other scenes around it a zillion times too, let me make some other random comments: * What Six says here sounds strikingly like Baltar's internal speculations. * There is a plaque to "VIGILANTES" in Tigh's quarters. * The picture in Kara's locker likely has a hidden meaning. * Kara is yummy, and so is her tummy. * We may have only ever seen two Dorals. There are only two in the scene at Ragnar. Red Doral was the stranded one, and Blue Doral was one of the rescuers. * Evidence of secrecy within the Cylons: They are worried that it may take decades to find the fleet again, then Sharon walks in and confidently says, "Don't worry. We'll find them" and grins. -------------------- Humanocylons are not Cylons.
