If it was the Cylons who were responsible for the Second Cylon War, then was it the idea of the original chrome toasters, upgraded chrome toasters, or the humanoid Cylons?

Roadrunner - May 15, 2005 07:36 PM (GMT)
It was one of the humanoid Cylons, model #7. (aka Pinocchio)
He had the hots for model #6, but she wouldn't give him the time of day, so he decided to get back at her by sending her to the Colonies and tricking her into a relationship with an uber-geek scientist who slept with anything in a skirt. Unfortunately the other Cylons caught wind of the plan and thought he was aiming to mastermind a Cylon take-over the Colonies and set himself up as ruler over humanity. They said, "Hold on there Pinnochio! You can't rule the humans! You're not a real boy!" Pinnochio got really pissed off and said, "Yes Yes I am a real boy!" The Cylons laughed at him reminding him that #6 preferred to go hot and heavy with the geeky human scientist while Pinnochio was still a virgin. So, Pinnochio realized that the only way to become a real boy was to get laid, and the only way that would happen would be to go to the Colonies himself where nobody would recognize him for the pathetic little horny puppet that he was. And there in the colonies Pinnochio met up with a woman named Ellen whose husband was away a lot, and who routinely slept with anything that didn't where a skirt. The other Cylons found out that Pinnochio that had just slept with a married woman, and became afraid that her husband, a military man as it turned out, would be furious when he found out, and he would hunt down and destroy Pinnochio. All the Pinnochios would be doomed! And well that makes up 12% of the Cylon population. So the Cylons realized they would need to orchestrate a preemptive strike to protect their civilzation.

And thus, the Second Cylon War commenced.

*sigh* I don't think people are taking you seriously, MHall. Just a shot in the dark there... :hihi:

Seriously. I think this question is tied up with the relationship between the old toaster Cylons of the first war and the new bio-humanoid Cylons of the second. There's been a lot of speculation on how perhaps the toasters built the bio-humanoids to use as infiltrators for their own purposes, and how perhaps the bios overthrew the toasters to take over this plan/twist it to their own particular ends.

My theory: maybe the toasters just wanted a plain old 'blow up the humans' revenge thing and created the bio-humanoids to just act as infiltrators to make said destruction easier by taking down the Colonies' defence systems. But since (apparently) the bioCylons are reliant on some kind of cloning to maintain any kind of population, they took over from the toasters- an interesting irony, that 'humans' overthrow Cylons where previously the opposite was true- and are now playing cat-and-mouse with the surviving humans for their own purposes which presumably involve something to do with population expansion. So the toaster Cylons came up with the idea for the second war, but the bioCylons took over the plan, modified/improved it and actually implemented it.

Although taking off my serious hat, technically Roadrunner is right.
