So i was at Petco the other day.. I usually dont shop there cause it is just not one of my favorite places.... But i needed a new litter pan and i was right there.. Anyway.. There was a whole display in the small animal section advertising CAREFRESH pet bedding in fashion colors!
Pink, Blue, Green ,Yellow, Purple! (i like the purple)
Has anyone else seen this? Tried it? You think it is safe for the buns? I mean if it was approved for sale it must be safe.. But im just concerned with how they get it those funky colors... I mean ok.. Pink, green and yellow even purple can be made with vegetable dyes.. But BLUE? blink.gif
Thats not natural.... what do we think?

indians dyed stuff blue but not sure how...thought it was with berries. Anway...food safe dyes are used in the wood toys for bunnies so maybe that's used in the carefresh? I look at the designer litter like my toilet paper. Doesn't matter the color, pattern, print, or texture...it's made to catch...well you get the picture. But hey, if it's the same price as the regular grey stuff then go for it. Add some new decor to their bathroom.

laugh.gif laugh.gif i know.. when i saw it i thought COOL.. and the purple will go with the colors in their bunnyroom... so i figured why not? but i just wasnt sure about it. it seemed a bit weird so i didnt buy it.. yet....i think its the same price. I only saw it in the smaller bags though.
and yes i hate Petco and usually ban them cause they totally suck and has lame people working there and i dont think they treat the pets the way they should. but thats a whole other bitchfest from me. I just avoid them like the plague.. But i was really desperate for a new litterpan the other day. rolleyes.gif

Floppy, I have never seen the Carefresh in colors. What will they think of next? In defense of Petco, I must say they have super internet service. No one ships as fast with such accuracy. The only physical Petco store in the Oklahoma City metro area is really far away from me so I have no experience with their stores.

I really love to order pet stuff from the web sites. I have so many choices that I never would have otherwise. There are so many good sources on the web.

I agree and try to avoid Petco by all means...but about the litter! Fun colors for bedding might be cute.. I use Carefresh, and all I've seen is the standard gray and that white Ultra stuff. As long as the dye doesn't rub off on light colored bunnies tongue.gif

If it did rub off, you'd have bunnies in fashionable colors laugh.gif

Hmmm...., if you see a purple bunny, is that as bad as seeing a pink elephant laugh.gif?

I really like the Carefresh myself. I always find myself going back to it when I try other brands. I like the Woody pet but it is only for litter boxes since it is too sharp edged for any bedding. Unless there is another type of Woody Pet that I have missed?

I am always looking for vegetable dye in anything colored for rabbits (just like Floppy does too). Dye can be poisonous to them.

I have seen some soft bedding in places where rabbits are but no one could tell me the brand.

I really do like Petco as a " dot com" store. They do great with web sales.

im gonna try to pick up a bag of purple today and see how they like it.. it comes in small bags so if they dont like it it wasnt a waste.

LOL! Floppy that is so cute! You're making want to swing by Petco just to try this stuff out. Blue for BunBun and pink for Mallory!
