Well, I am moving across state and had to sell my babies and rabbits to make room for the move. But now that the move is almost over and things are settling down again I am getting to buy more mini rexes to breed. I breed Red Minis. They are so pretty and I have so much fun. And on the 8th I am buying 2 reds for $50 in Belton. And on the 22nd I am buying a broken red and a solid red (kits) for $60. I cant wait till they join us and I will be able to breed the older ones and show the youngers!!
Just one question; How big are your cages if you breed mini rexes? My new place has a small backyard and my cousin is building a shed for us  to go around the rabbits but I was wondering how big the cages need to be. It will be a total of 6 rabbits when I get the 4 new comers. Plus 2 will be pregnant. 5 will be staying outside (one is a neutered male holland and he stays inside). If I expect 4 babies out of each litter I will have 8+2+2+1=13 rabbits staying outside. Plus, once they get older I will probably sell off some and keep more. Which means I will be needing more room. I was thinking I could use NIC cubes for cages because the cages will be hanging cages anyways. But will these last? Does anyone have an idea? Thanks for listening and let me know!! -------------------- Renee' Picture by JoJo From Right to Left is Popcorn, Luke, Riley, Leo |

BunnyLover I would suggest for outside hanging cages to use wire and not the nic cubes. If you get J clips and plyers making your own wire cages is fairly easy. I raise Hollands and the size is close to the MR, My breeding cages are 24" X 30" and the rest of my cages ar 24"X 24". I hope I have helped some

I was just wondering how much wire to get and how many J clips and how to cut it. But nobody seems to have "Direct" instructions. So I am going to have to wing it it looks like.

well you want wire that is 2ft wide and how ever long. for instance 2ft by 30ft would give you 2 cages. a package of J clips would do several cages. I fixed 6 cages with one package of J clips. I hope this helps.
edit: you will need wire cutters to cut the wire and make sure to wear glove so you don't scratch up your hands. This post has been edited by jodi on Apr 8 2006, 03:33 PM -------------------- |
