    Hey, guys! I've got about three more months here in Hungary before I go home and I can get fully involved again. All the same, I want to get a head start. I don't have ANY programs here - no Flash, no compilers, no Photoshop - but hey, I have a piano and a camera, and MS Paint if you'd still like sprites / objects. XD I'd love to make some prerendered objects if it's possible. Tell me what you want, and I'll get on it.

    Can someone update me here? Do you have a checklist of things you want to get done before the release?

    (I'm going to tell you, as an outsider looking into this, the house in the startup sequence looks terrible. I don't know whose feet I'm stepping on when I say that, but I think it has to be said.)

    (Oh, and if anyone spotted my post on Youtube and was wondering what the hell I was talking about, the algorithm I came up with was wrong, it was based on the limit of a function as your money approaches infinity. For *finite* money and *infinite* repetitions, your odds become 0%, not 100%. If you've read this and still wonder what the hell I'm talking about, don't worry about it.)

    lol. that house is definitely a place holder. I definitely don't claim to be a graphic artist, lol. That video was to show off the scripted event system (and camera work), rather than the shite graphics. Overall, how did you think that stuff came out?

    And, I don't know what you're talking about with money, but I'll take a look on the youtube videos.

    Also, do whatever you'd like for the game. At this point I'm not going to do much more work on the game till the semester is over (end of May), so feel free to get involved however you want. It is good to know that you're still keeping up to date.

    I absolutely hate session timeouts. Okay, let me write this again...

    I think the startup looks pretty good. The fish are awesome, whoever did that deserves a pat on the back.

    As far as the money is concerned, I came up with a method for gambling in the casino with an *extremely* high success rate... ~98% out of a 100 dollar bankroll to win 1 dollar at a time. What I forgot about was repetition of odds. As your available funds approach infinity, your odds of winning slope toward 100%; however, for finite funds, as you repeat the method, your odds of winning overall slope toward 0%. Betting on black for 18 black, 18 red, and 1 zero:

    a. lim[q->infinity]( (1-(19/37)^q)^R ) = 1,
    b. lim[R->infinity]( (1-(19/37)^q)^R ) = 0.

    Generalized:
    a. If you have infinite money, you can gamble as much as you like.
    (this is true even while ignoring that property of infinity.)
    b. If you don't, the more you play, the more chance you have to lose.

    So, there you have it. Much like with a six-sided die, if you bet once on numbers other than the number one, you have a high probability of winning (83%); yet if you roll the die ten, fifteen, twenty times, you can be sure it'll come up. That was the basis of the method, and ironically, the basis of its flaw.

    I'll take a look after I get back from Poland. I'm interested in making mid-ground objects more than sprites, although most of all I'd like to make weapons and items.

    Hahaha, I just found this post... why? I don't. But the funny thing is, I moved to Budapest in early July. So if you are still here, lets meet up somewhere!

    First time I've been on here in a looong time. That would have been cool... but I left, I think late June...? But I'm at RIT now, and between their co-op program and study abroad, I have a good chance of getting to go back to BP. Miert mentel Magyarorszagra? Mentel a csaladoddal, vagy a munka miatt? Kivancsi vagyok. smile.gif
