Mandatory Reads

[Chase McCoy]

Chase made her way down the stairs of Chase. She had a very long day at Jam Pony. Normal seemed to be in an extra annoying mood today, not to mention most of the deliveries were to people that were just rude to the tenth degree. So right now all she wanted was a nice cold beer.

As she walked around people, she kept the beer at the forefront of her mind. Don't kill anyone, she kept repeating to herself. It's not their fault, they haven't don't anything to you. Just relax.

Once she was safely at the bar, she took a seat on the stool. As the bartender eyed her, she flashed him a quick smile. "A shot of tequila, please," she said. "And a beer to wash it down."

The shot was first, which she easily took, liking the way it held a slight burn. Then she took her beer with another smile at the bartender. With a sip, she sighed as the ice cold liquid ran down her throat.

"Oh yeah, that's what I needed," she muttered to herself as she took another drink.

Jason had waited impatiently at his hotel room for seven to roll around, giving it a few extra minutes before calling Chase. She'd told him she wanted to meet at Crash and his face lit up. He could go for a cold one right about now. It beat staying in his little hotel room talking on the phone. He hated phones. He didn't know how girls liked them although Chase didn't seem like the type that did. His kind of girl.

Hanging up the phone, he was quick to get ready, heading out the door and getting in his car. Arriving at Crash, he parked his car and headed inside, ignoring the odd looks he was receiving from his blue mohawk as he headed towards the bar.

"Well, well we meet again." He spoke as he came up besides Chase, smile on his face.

As she drag her beer, she glanced around to see if Jason was there yet. He had called only a few minutes after seven, which made her wonder if he'd been staring at a watch or something. Either way, she didn't mind seeing him again. Anything to help get her daughter back, she thought.

When she didn't see any blue mohawk, her attention went back to the beer. As the bartender passed by, she motioned for another as she quickly finished off the one she had. She wasn't kidding about really needed one, today had been hell at work.

"Well, well we meet again."

At the sound of his voice, Chase glanced over her shoulder with a smirk. "Yeah, that kinda happens when you plan to meet someone somewhere," she pointed out as the bartender placed another beer in front of her. "So what are you drinking?"

He smirked right back at her, taking a seat besides her on a stool. He was about to order himself a drink when she asked what he was drinking. Was she offering to treat him to a drink? Well, he couldn't complain. Nothing better then a free drink.

"A beer is fine with me." He replied, flashing her a smile. "So, how long you been sitting here waiting for me? Not too long I hope.

Chase motioned to the bartender before she pointed to her beer and held up one finger. It wasn't a moment later that another beer was placed in front of her, which she passed over to Jason.

"So, how long you been sitting here waiting for me? Not too long I hope.

"Forever," she said with a grin. "You really should learn not to make a lady wait." With a small shrug, she shook her head as she took another sip of her beer. "Not long, maybe a few minutes. So did you have an eventual day?"
