Despite constant training, and the nature of his work, Bit has a thin, almost frail looking frame. This is incredibly deceptive, however, due to the strength needed to beat the swords and armour into shape. His skin is fairly pale, as he's prone to wander at night and avoid daylight. His hands change color constantly due to his Raynaud's Disease, so they're sometimes purple, sometimes blue, sometimes bright red, sometimes orange, and sometimes bone white. His hair flows past his shoulders, and is a vivid blood red. It is unknown whether this is natural or dyed. He keeps clean-shaven, so there appears to be no other hair on his body to judge by. The irises of his eyes are midnight black, but it is believed that these are colored contacts.

History: Bit was born, and raised for seven years in a Midwestern city named Lawrence. His life was normal and happy, until a few months after his seventh birthday, his house was raided by burglars. They rounded up the family: Father, Mother, Little Sister, and himself. They shot Bit's sister, and his mother and father right in front of him. He only survived by throwing himself out of the second story window and landing, unmoving, on the ground.
Later evidence concluded that his family's murder, and the attempt on his own life, were actually linked to several other murders. Bit's father was a biochemist proffessor at Kansas University (KU), and, teamed together with three other scientists, had been working on a secret cosmetics project. The project was one to make it possible for people to affect the fetus while it was growing, and give it "unnatural" looks. Bit was the first recipient, while still in his mother's womb, and was granted his peculiar eyes, hair, and skin tone.
The scientists continued with their experiments on other mothers who volunteered their children, including Bit's mother again, which gave Bit's sister electric blue hair, and vibrant blue eyes (Bit is often known for comparing his sister's beauty to that of a Goddess). Word got around, and unrest rose with some of the people who considered this alteration of DNA to be unnatural, and evil. A small group of fanatics went around and killed both those involved, and those altered. Bit is the only survivor known. As it was his father doing the research, all that wasn't destroyed after the fanatcis was dropped down to his hands, and he destroyed it.
His immediate family dead, he was sent to the only family member capable of taking care of him, his father's brother. Bit's uncle was a skilled blacksmith, and a superior swordsman, and in order to help the boy deal with the grief, he started teaching his nephew the skills of both. Bit caught on quickly, and immersed himself in the studies. He didn't make many friends in school, and graduated with only average grades; despite his test scores being outstanding. However, that summer Thanatos visited Bit again.
Less than a month after his graduation, Bit's uncle was killed in a car crash. His uncle had never married or had kids, so Bit got the shop, the apartment, and the forge. After a few months vacation, the young man took up the business, and began working as his uncle had shown him.
Note: Before he moved to Seattle with his uncle, Bit was put under the Witness Protection Program. However, the people responsible for his family's death were caught after just a matter of weeks, and he was allowed to move without further detainment. However, he still maintains contact with the people from the WPP, just in case he has reason to believe he is being stalked by associates of his family's murderers.
During his first real year of running his store and forge, Bit began having run ins with several Transgenics and ex-Manticore employees needing help. Finding he had the connections to help provide such things, including getting one of them a job at the hospital, he decided that this was his purpose for living when all around him had died. He has taken the time to help Transgenics find new homes and jobs, occasionally even employing them himself. Suspicious of his heritage, and perhaps of his doings, Manticore sent a psychic to investigate him.
What should have been the destruction of the beginnings of his endeavor turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The Transgenic sent proved to be a subversive in her own right, and she protected Bit from Manticore by telling them there was nothing to find. Deciding he would use this to his advantage, he expanded his work, creating hidden housing and making it so his forge and shop had defenses in case Manticore ever came back. Than Eva, a Transgenic that had become his lover during this time, decided it was time for her to leave.
A stint of depression took him, and he dove in his work only for an old enemy to come knocking. Someone Bit had thought dead for years returned in his life. Jake, a powerful psionic whom Bit had thrown in a fire to protect a girl, captured Bit and proceeded to try and make him rape a little girl. Tricking Jake using his own psionic abilities, Bit made sure he was dead this time, but the resulting trauma took its toll. The swordsman lost hope, and began neglecting his "charges." Instead, he took the streets at night, and began murdering people he found doing inhuman activities. Abilities first flared after Jake's attack began to grow as his own vengeful spree continued.
One night he defended a girl from attack only to discover that she was a Transgenic. The girl, Neko, helped to return him to his previous path, and he continued to help them as before. Transgenics began to find him again, including one escaped from Psi-Ops, and Audrey. Audrey became his lover for a time, and helped to restore his confidence in his ability to do what was needed, in addition to help ease his depression. Then the package came.
A source of Bit's from the Witness Protection Program had discovered a backup source for all of the work Bit's father had done. Bit had recieved it via normal mail. At first tempted to destroy it, Bit decided there could be another use for it. There were untold amounts of people trying to hide, and what better way to do so than physically change something about them and their DNA? After a few successful tests, he decided he needed someplace to continue his work. Someplace that could be well guarded, but maintain privacy. Bit decided to make an estate, and invite Transgenics to help him both build and maintain it.
Other: Bit has Raynaud's Disease, which makes his hands sensitive to cold, and hurt almost constantly.
Since he broke almost all of his bones in that fall from the second story window, he's in almost constant pain. He had to undergo some surgeries, and an ungodly amount of physical therapy (which was part of the reason his uncle taught him how to use a sword, and how to be a smith at such a young age). He also has to take drugs at least once every twenty four hours, or the pain can become unbearable, and literally keep him from moving. Sometimes he has sudden attacks, which he must take a pill for, so he keeps a few on him at all times. Recently, his ability to heal himself, seems to have cured all the remaining micro-fractures and bone faults that caused him such pain, so this is no longer a concern.
Personality:
Bit is calm and relaxed, always. Nothing seems capable of phasing him. His methods are always fast and effective, getting done whatever needs to be done as soon as possible, as well as possible. He is not unfriendly, but tends to keep how he feels, and what he thinks, under wraps. He does not care if you are human, Transgenic, or Familiar as long as you don't threaten him, or anything he cares about.
Twisted Mind: Due to seeing his family murdered in front of his eyes, Bit isn't particularly settled with believing in life as is. In order to explain, and cope with various experiences, he's come to the conclusion that life is just a game typed out by others. This will cause him to occasionally make offhand comments that others may take to be referencing Fate, or God. In Bit's mind, it's referencing his writer. Not wishing to be labeled insane by others, Bit keeps this pretty much to himself, usually only running through things in his mind.
