From one of the top three Familiar lines, he's what is known as a Blood Royal. They're usually given much more leeway, privalages etc than other Familiar lines.

Leader of the warriors for the last 12 years... member of the Conclave because of this.

Sandemann had found out that a woman, Isabella Forsythe, aged 18, human on her maternal side, and one of the second tier families, and the best of the psi lines on her paternal side, Familiar Royalty, who had been a favourite pupil of he's before he left, was 1 and a half months pregnant with her third child, the father her husband, Dante Templeton-Debonnaire aged 19, also Blood Royal, but from one of the three top lienages, and the man who was tipped to become either leader of the Phalanx, or of the Warrior Caste, which was always lead by a Phalanx level Familiar, his best friend Oliver, was also tipped to get one or the other job, so become members of The Conclave, those who ran the Familiars.

Dante ended up becoming leader of the Warriors, Oliver St. James, though shocked everyone but Dan, who knew his friends want, when he took leader of the Tech guild, also making him Conclave, over being leader of the Phalanx, a Phalanx job a few years before had made him question his want to lead them or the Warrior caste, and the years only made his not wanting to do either stronger, he preffered to use his tech genius instead.

Sandemann found that Isabella was pregnant and brain dead, she was only being kept alive because The Conclave desperately wanted the child she was carrying, they'd been waiting a century to rebreed the two lines, only Dante and Isabella had met the right criteria for a Familiar to Familiar match for the breeding selectors. (They are considered to make really weird choices both marriages inside the Familiar nation and out of it.)

Sandemann decided that he wanted that baby, so he and a couple of Familiar cronies, kidnapped her and set her up in Sandemann's private lab, where he started to tamper with the foetus, making her half wolf, and uncloneable. They made it appear that their had been a fire and Isabella and the baby had perished, all but Dan accepted that, Dan's instinct was that the baby was still alive, but he was not listened to, they assummed it was grief at now loosing the baby as well as Isabella, his match being one that became a love one as soon as both parties set eyes on each other.

To this day Dan is convinced that his child is alive although he quickly learnt not to voice that, let others assume he believed both had died.

He only had one kid, Will, never had more kids because he can't have more, was injured a couple of years after Will was born, means he can have sex, but can't father kids.

The heads of each group are placed all over the world, to have a 'leader' in each area. Dante lives in England, but is now in the USA on Conclave business.

They come together a few time a year for face to face meetings other times, they meet via vid links.

Is a descendent of Romulas & Remus.

Isabella, Dante's wife & Will's mother, apart from her having naturally dark blonde hair, and Will having Dante's eyes, they could be identical twins.
