Is this your first bio on either Pollo loco site?: no

Designation: N/A

Name: Andromeda Minerva Murdoch

Age: 24 (just turned)

Gender: female

Marital status: widowed [see history]

Physical description: The female line from which Andromeda is somewhat convolutedly descended claims to have origins in the lines of female warriors known as the Amazonians, and looking at Andromeda you could probably believe it, however complicated and round about the explanation is. At 5’ 10” she’s taller than average, but her weight, 137lbs, is the low end of normal for her height due to all the physical training she does. Like most female Familiars, she has a caduceus brand mark on her right arm.

Original, Clone or One off?: N/A

Training / abilities: Speaks 10 modern languages fluently + fluent in Minoan. Acrobatics, gunmanship/sniper, swordsmanship, knives, archery, martial arts (15 types incredibly skilled at all.), + Phalanx training to the highest level, musician (drummer and violinist), vehicle mastery (cars, bikes, boats & aircraft.), con artist, thief, stealth, general knowledge, degrees in music and government, expert with all types of weapons, Familiar training.

Stronger and faster than the average human, can easily leap two stories, with perfect memory. Ambidextrous (left-hand dominant). Impervious to pain.

History: The sixth child of the same Familiar couple, Andromeda was the result of a second coupling between her mother and father; her eldest sister Cassieopeia was the only child the first time they bred, and it was only her successful and totally trouble free passage through the ritual that made those in charge of breeding return the two Familiars to a monogamous state. Her parents had separated after Cassie was born because her father, as head of a high profile media company, couldn’t afford the scandal of a divorce, and the breeders weren’t sure that they were a perfect match. Not that Jeanette Murdoch cared; she had only married her husband out of loyalty to the Familiars and the necessity to produce strong children. When Cassie proved to be such a strong child, she returned to her husband’s bed, leaving her second daughter to be raised in a crčche. This wasn’t seen as harsh; due to Jeannette being Phalanx all her children were raised in by Familiar nannies in the family’s private home in Bellevue until they were old enough to go to college or university, then they were offered a place at their father’s more public table in Seattle.

Due to this arrangement, and reasonably close ages between siblings, Andromeda grew up as normally as could be expected. There were the usual sibling rivalries, usually between the boys and the girls; the boys would tease the girls about their ridiculously long winded names and as they got older the girls would retort by threatening physical violence. In the Murdoch family, the boys all went into the communication caste and the girls would train with the Phalanx caste as they had been bred to do. Andromeda was closest to her older brother Richard, and he was tested six months before she was, nine months into his seventh year [six years, nine months] and three months into her sixth [five years, three months]. His leaving at the age of six, when Andi was six months into her fourth year, made her the oldest Murdoch child left in Bellevue, and she couldn’t wait to be tested, learning her Familiar lore perfectly so she could make Richard proud of her.

Like Cassie, and all her other siblings before her, Andromeda passed the test with only a slight fever and was posted to the Phalanx caste until she learned full Familiar lore, which she managed when she was thirteen, the same year she and her older brothers David and Richard were deemed ready to go to university, thus returning them to their family home in Seattle, albeit not on a permanent basis. Andromeda, by now referring to herself as Andi, opted to study for a BA in music, which she loved, but was only allowed to do so after agreeing to study for a Masters Degree in government also, music being deemed a soft subject by the Familiar leaders. Due to taking two courses and still having to keep up with her Phalanx duties, she didn’t graduate until she was nineteen, and wasn’t assigned a breeding partner until just after she turned twenty.

Her human partner, a man named Kyle Barrett, was a minor politician in Ohio who the Familiars believed could be powerful with the right backing. He was never going to be let in on the whole ‘your wife is really a religious fanatic’ deal, but the Familiars believed that he could be of some use to them if they funded his campaign through his wife. They also had reason to believe that pairing him off with the strong willed Andromeda would produce children who might even surpass their mother. Unfortunately, Kyle died in a non-Familiar induced accident before their third child could be conceived, and although Andi didn’t love him she still mourned for his loss. She was twenty two and widowed, and put on a good show for the media in the way only a Murdoch can before she moved back to Seattle and changed her name back to Murdoch.

It was a couple of years later that the transgenic base was blown up, and although she heard that many transgenics had resettled themselves in Seattle she couldn’t do much about it at the time. She’s been working with Familiars in South America trying to locate Sandemann, and it is only recently that she’s been called back to Seattle. So recently, in fact, that she’s barely had a chance to pack. Her new assignment? Liaison between the Conclave, the NSA and Manticore, essentially the conclave’s eyes and ears on the ground in Seattle, working closely with Ames White. It’s a position she may be a little young for, but in her family they consider the best way to teach some one to swim is to throw them in at the deep end…
