Soukid and Soulord; the Soul Pokemon
By Robert Teller

In this book, we will tell you about traits of the solitary but gentle pokemon that hides itself from sight. They are known for their mysterious ability to detect, and communicate with souls, and often forms friendships with the souls. The Soul Pokemon are dual-typed pokemon, being both ghost and psychic pokemon at the same time. This typing makes the Soul Pokemon extremely weak against both Ghost and Dark attacks, falling quickly when struck by these attacks. But in return, they are immune against Fighting and Normal attacks. Being capable of detecting souls, they are also capable of detecting if the soul is good or evil. Learn about these strange pokemon as I tell the secrets about these interesting creatures.

Basic Template

Okay. There is a template for every pokemon, and I am going to show them off here, just so you can easily remember stuff about them. Okay, I am going with Soukid first.

Name- Soukid
Section- Soul Pokemon
Type- ghost.png/psychic.png
Male: 50%
Female: 50%
Height- 3'00''
Weight- 5.2 lbs
Ability- Inner Focus
Egg Group- Indeterminate
Pokedex Entry- This pokemon detects souls, and can communicate with them. This pokemon is rarely lonely as it makes friends with the souls that decides to travel with it. Despite this however, it is shy around living strangers.
Appearance- Soukid can be described as a small humanoid doll with a big head. It seems to wear something that seems like a dark robe covering the body. The head is visible, and is completely black with glowing blue eyes. It's a simple appearance, so there isn't much to tell. A Shiny Soukid got a blue robe, and white eyes.
Evolution Line- Soukid -30- Soulord

As you can tell, Soukid can't learn lots of moves, nor any HM moves. So he don't have a diverse moveset... Also, a newborn Soukid can't fight anything at all until he learns how to Tackle his enemies. Okay, let's check Soulord out now.

Name- Soulord
Section- Soul Pokemon
Type- ghost.png/psychic.png
Male: 50%
Female: 50%
Height- 6'03''
Weight- 58.3 lbs
Ability- Inner Focus
Egg Group- Indeterminate
Pokedex Entry- The souls it had befriended had grown fond of it, and in the heat of the battle, will warn Soulord of the opponent's next move. This pokemon hates evil, and is often found communcating with it's companion souls.
Appearance- Now, this is a more difficult description than Soukid. Soulord is notably humanoid compared to it's smaller and child-like pre-evolution. The robe is loosened, got a few holes, and is somewhat damaged. The black body of the Soulord is visible, and a hood had appeared over Soulord's head. Also, the body isn't disproportioned anymore, with the head at a reasonable size. Like it's shiny pre-evolution, a Shiny Soulord got a blue robe, and white eyes.
Evolution Line- Soukid -30- Soulord

When a Soukid evolves into Soulord when he gets to Level 30, he will be able to learn Psycho Cut. Now, Soulord got alot more moves than the small Soukid. He still can't learn any HM moves... But that's okay, for some of the HM moves aren't quite useful in combat. Okay, now that we ran that over, we will talk about something else.

Soul Detection

The Soul Pokemon is mostly known for possessing a mystical ability to detect souls. They can hear, see, and communicate with souls, and often travels with souls. This ability is known as Soul Detection, and is a defining trait of the Soul Pokemon. Soukids can the basics of Soul Detection. They can hear, see, communicate, feel the presence of souls, and tell if they are good or evil. However, Soulords can do more than that. They can tell the countdown to rebirth for any souls, see through the eyes of souls, let souls possess them for as long the Soulord will let them, and even read the thoughts of the souls (Though they probably won't do this one much due to the possibility of reading private thoughts) Soulords can even communicate with the souls of living beings, thus being capable of pseudo-telepathy, though only the most experienced of Soulords can do this.

When the souls grows closer to the pokemon, they may become willing to take the mental, and physical pain that the Soul Pokemon may encounter, thus making the Soul Pokemon capable of going through whatever hurts it, without stopping up due to pain. This has helped some Soulords go through fire to rescue others, or save themselves, and not stop up at all due to the souls taking the pain for this pokemon.

Soulords are willing to travel with evil souls, if only for the purpose of trying to make them good before they are reborn.

Interesting, Soulords is capable of merging their own mind with someone else's mind, allowing them to communicate toward each other via Telepathy. The link can be broken whenever they want, and the other one must be willing for this mind merge to happen. They can read each other's thoughts as long as the link stays on, and the link cannot be disrupted except by one of them wanting the link broken. Only the most experienced of Soulords is capable of doing this.

Behavior

Soukids are known to be extremely shy toward all living beings. This is why looking for these pokemon are extremely difficult, and as such one should make a excellent plan if one wants to find this pokemon. Soukid often makes one place it's hiding place, and hides in it whenever it detects living beings. Toward non-living beings however, it isn't as shy, and can relax easily. Soukid can still however, warm up to a living being, and if one spends enough time with a Soukid, it can become a great friend. Sometimes, Soukids are very curious, and is often scared of something they got no knowledge of.

Soulords is most often the opposite of being shy. It is known that Soulords possess a natural hatred of evil, and they won't tolerate anyone trying to use their power for their own use, and greed. Often, they see themselves as the guardians of the souls, and as such tries to ensure that they get a peaceful rest. However, Soulord won't let themselves get ordered by the souls, instead doing what they want to do themselves to ensure the souls can sleep well. The Soulords will accept to travel with evil souls, as they will try to convert the soul to good while they travel. when Soulords need to calm down, they will meditate underneath a small waterfall in one month, stopping only when interrupted by a living being.

Diet

Being ghost pokemon, Soukids and Soulords do not require the need of food to survive. Despite this though, they can still enjoy the food. The Soul Pokemon are omnivores, and can eat both vegetables and meat. Like most pokemon, they likes berries alot.

Habitat

The Soul Pokemon can live everywhere. Most commonly forests, caves, jungles, and sometimes but not always, urban areas. However, it requires that they can have a hiding place in the area (This is excepted for the Soulord) and that they can easily hide somewhere in that area aswell. They will also often seek a place with alot of souls, so they may also live nearby graveyards and churches.

Finding them

Soukids can be incredibly difficult to find. As noted earlier, they can detect souls, and due to being extremely shy, hides themselves from the sight of living beings. For the trainers who wants to capture all pokemon, this pokemon will lead them to a long time of frustration. Infact, this pokemon can be so difficult to find, that it once took a team of fifteen trainers to find just one in a small forest (No joke, you can learn about it in a old newspaper) Some trainers just give up, and look for some other pokemon.

However, if you are willing to find the pokemon, then be willing to read the tips and suggestions I am going to show here. You will need patience for this.

You could use a ghost pokemon, and have it stay in one spot. Stay as far away as possible, while still being capable of seeing your ghost pokemon. Although Soukids is capable of detecting souls, it can't detect souls too far away. Now, stay there, and watch a while. If you got the patience, you will most likely see the Soukid appear at the ghost! It isn't aware that the ghost is actually owned by a trainer, and as such isn't even suspicious. You probably told your ghost to make sure the Soukid doesn't get away while you walk over to them. Once you got close enough, and the Soukid didn't get away... Congratulations! Note that this only works if your ghost pokemon is detected as a good soul.

Some other way, although it takes a long time, is also effective. Just check every corner in the entire place for the Soul Pokemon's hiding place. The Soukids choose only one hiding spot... So it will always hide in the same spot. Just be patient in searching, and you will eventually find the Soukid hiding in it's spot. If you finally find it... Congratulations! And enjoy it's surprised look.

One, although difficult, is to make it difficult for the Soul Pokemon to detect you. How? Simply! Just appear where ALOT of souls are gathering! You can't detect the souls though. But if you are lucky, you are where the Soukid are unable to detect you due to the large amount of souls that just happened to gather there. One good example of such a place, is a graveyard. If you happen to see a wild Soukid pass by, while hiding, then Congratulations! You happens to be where a bunch of souls are.

I am sure there is alot more ways of finding the Soukid. But these is how I found some Soukids to add to my collection (I would like to thank my Gengar for helping me with the first option. Thanks Pal) So if you want to find the Soukid because you want to catch it, or because you want to meet it, or you want to talk with one... Then try one of these ways.

Soulord is only much more harder to find because Wild Soulords are quite rare. But you can still find some in the wild, the same way you normally find most wild pokemon. Consider yourself lucky if you encounter a Wild Soulord.

Egg Group

Soukid and Soulord are both in only one group. The Indeterminate Egg Group... I think this is weird, because they doesn't seem like they belong in that group. Infact, they seem like they would belong in the Humanshape group... I suppose it's because they are ghosts.

Anyway, here is a list of pokemon they can breed with. I need to warn you though, that it may disturb you... Alot.

Grimer, Muk, Gastly, Haunter, Gengar, Koffing, Weezing, Misdreavus, Wobbuffet, Slugma, Magcargo, Ralts, Kirlia, Gardevoir, Gulpin, Swalot, Castform, Shuppet, Banette, Duskull, Dusclops, Chimecho, Shellos, Gastrodon, Drifloon, Drifblim, Mismagius, Spiritomb, Gallade, and Dusknoir, and of course, other Soukids and Soulords. Rotom belongs in the group too, but it's genderless.

How they look like

There is a drawing of how they look like. I could have provided a photo instead... But my own Soukids are camera shy, and my Soulord tells me that the camera flash blinds the eyes of her soul companions, so we will have to do with my cruddy drawing skills. Thankfully they are both quite simple to draw.

The Soukid is obviously the small one, while Soulord is the big one. Now you do know a little of how they look like.

Egg Moves

Oh... Heheh... Oh... This is really embarrassing... But I got no idea what egg moves they can learn! Quite shocking isn't it?

Don't worry, when I learn what kind of moves Soukids can get as a Egg Move, I will change this part. Be patient!
