Which 3d-program do you prefer?

I just wanted to know what 3d-pogram you are using (if you do), and please motivate why you think it's that good ^^

I'm using '3d studio max' & 'Cinema 4d', but I'm not that skilled with the programs actually. I have tried Bryce 5 once, but I think it's very hard, (maybe not if you work and learn it, then I think it would be a great program). Personally I think the programs have different styles, like Bryce - Nature and cool crome. C4d - Animations and 3d renders, quite more simple than Bryce and 3dsm - realistic objects. This is just MY point of wiew, tell me what you think and why ^^

i really like cinema 4d but i jsut dont have the pacteince to make decent things, until i started doing renders and that (i used to make crummy looking spaceships lol) but i do like bryce 5 cause its very simple and can make sum nice effects

i got the personel learning edition of maya and to tell the truth it is soooo hard to use!

never used 3dsmax

if you wana see my crummy spaceships then tell me but theyre awful, i also used to mkae like chairs and tvs and stuff lol

[edit] infact youre not going to see any of them cause they are totally c**p (can we say that?) tongue.gif

[edit (agian)] arrgh! was making a new wallpaper for myaself in cinema 4d and as a laugh i decided to put the setting for render on the hyper NURBs at 12.. the whole prog just messed up and i lost all my work angry.gif angry.gif dry.gif angry.gif angry.gif

i have bryce 5 and C4D, i think C4D is a lot easier to use and a lot easier to mess around in to make abstract renders and such, i think bryce 5 is for more realistic stuff, because of the textures and stuff.

Lol deep blue, I agree, you can make easy renders in bryce, but if you start making the hard sh''t, things gets hard, I guess it's like that in most of the programs but I think Bryce is a very tricky one ^^ I think 3dsm is quite the same as bryce but more simple. There is some easy stuff that looks good, but there is also very hard things that reaches PRO-skills, I mean people that have been sitting infront of the program 24/7 for 6 years. Those kind of things is just amazing to look at. Cars and Rooms that looks Exactly like the original. Just have a look at these works, all made in 3d studio max, and get ready to be amazed:

CAR
KITCHEN
ROOM

I agree with you too Toggles, and I also think that C4D is good for renders, usually I don't get that nice results, but after a tutorial or two you get a hang of it happy.gif

i could make those stuff with my eyes closed...after i have been doing that stuff for 10 years, that stuff is so good, i bet people actually think those are pictures, but those are the people that have no lifes and get paid to have no lifes, i can make you some renders, IM me on AIM or MSN, or PM me here, i'll make a few and you can take the ones that you like smile.gif

meh, i use c4d mainly. i think bryce is actually quite easy. nothin special about it. its all done just by makin random tubes/spheres and stuff then usin either nice materials, the multi-replicate, or puttin it in a mirror room. c4d can make some truly powerful and amazing abstracts. im mildly skilled with both. 3dsm is something i wanna get tho. . ..

Yeah, I agree with Illegal there a bit, bryce is much about doing easy things that turns out in great quality, but there is some hard-ass things that you can do too, as I said. 3dsm is the program I'd like to learn the most about really, I think it's so cool, a very good program if you ask me.

Toggles: yeah, I guess you can say that they get paid to have no life ^^ are you seriouse? happy.gif sounds great I'll do that thanks

yeah i agree with illegal too, all u gota do to make a render in bryce is multireplicate or put in a mirrored room..

however if you are a real gfx designer you use it to make wicked islands and stuff...

They're different, bryce can make a render very quickly... but takes ages to actually render. And c4d.. sucks unless you get good.

So iut's hard to say

I prefer the advanced c4d renders, but bryce does well even on easy ones,

you can just change the render quality in bryce to a lower one, the quality of c4d renders isnt as high as bryce ones tho..
