So here is where the Frequently Asked Questions (aka FAQ) is located and is open to even more questions and answers later. If you have any other questions that have been asked before, please feel free to reply to this topic and I will place both the question AND the answer to it here for all to see as a future reference for others who may wish to join on the site.
F.A.Q. - Does my RP Sample have to be of the character I am applying for?
--- No. Absolutely not! In fact, it's encouraged that you bring in something of your best so that we can get a good idea of just how good you are as a writer. Though the character history is supposed to give us a sufficient amount of information to base your skills off of, a good RP sample of how you write doesn't necessarily have to be of the character you are putting an application in for. We're pretty free-flowing here on Penance.- Do I HAVE to use the provided application template?
--- Though it's not required, we DO ask that if you don't already have your character profile fully created and that if you're starting from scratch you go with this template. It's simple and easy to manipulate later once your character application has been accepted and you can go in and tweak it later yourself.- Do I have to use tables in my posts?
--- This would be a yes. Because Penance only allows ONE account per user, but MULTIPLE characters per account, this makes it easy for everyone to differentiate who you are posting as when you do post. If you need a table made, post up a request in the request forum and I promise that your table will be made (as well as a few added goodies).- What about language? How does that work?
--- In this time period, national languages no longer exist. A common language, frequently referred to as "Underground" sprang up. It is a mixture of national languages (what's known as a "pidgin" language) and is the primary language of all who reside in the Zones. While some characters - primarily shifters - can speak their national language, the usage of such is not widespread, and is generally limited to the household from whence they come.
