|The Scars You See:| Christian is 5’11” tall, semi-built in stature with lightly tanned skin and his dirty blond hair that he usually has cut around his ears in a strangely cropped fashion. With blue-green eyes that resemble the oceans that used to exist on the surface – and perhaps still do – he has a somewhat gentle sort of outer appearance. However, don’t let the looks fool you.
Though usually in jeans and a shirt, because it’s necessary to be comfortable in his line of work, Christian doesn’t allow for much to get in his way when he’s maneuvering around his enemies and trying to subdue them. Nevertheless, he’s always wearing his trademark pendant left to him from his dead father to serve as a constant reminder of his past.
Christian always has a piece on his person at all times. As a bounty hunter and the leader of a rebel faction, Christian can’t afford to take any chances with getting himself killed. He’s always armed and usually puts on his protective gear as soon as he wakes and gets dressed in the mornings. To be able to slit this guy’s throat, you have to be a pretty damn good assassin.
|The Scars Inside:| Soft-spoken and calm, Christian rarely lets anything get under his skin. Though he comes off as non-confrontational, to assume as such would just mean that it’s going to lead to your own undoing. Never assume that he would never lay you flat on your back if you were to cross him.
Christian is slow to warm up to people and the same goes for people to Christian. He comes off as an unfeeling statue and most find him to be extremely intimidating. He rarely smiles, even to those closest to Christian. When he does, it's usually for business purposes regarding the faction because he needs to win people over. Another time he smiles is when someone who thinks they're winning or trying to one up on him ends up losing and realizing that they are losing more than they had bargained for. If one ever received a genuine smile from Christian, you would have to consider yourself a very lucky son of a bitch.
Beneath the rough exterior, Christian has a sort of gentleness deep inside of him. But because of what he is obligated to do, the gentle side is also rarely seen and difficult to bring out. He feels that gentleness is a sign of weakness. Christian will probably always feel this way, unless something or someone manages to change his heart. Until then, Christian will always remain organized, focused, and all about the business for his rebellion against the government.
|The Scars Left By Time:| Christian’s life was pretty average until the day of his thirteenth birthday. It was this day, during the evening meal when his family was in the middle of prayer, that everything changed forever. At that moment, the government of Shangri-La broke into his home and opened fire on his father, killing him instantly with over thirty rounds of high caliber bullets smothering his chest.
The sheer shock caused his mother to go into cardiac arrest a few days later. She died in the hospital after reaching a comatose state. His sister, Anita, and Christian were taken to the local orphanage. Within a few short days, his sister was taken into custody by a random family.
The following year, Christian ran away from the orphanage and began living his life on the streets.
A street hustling urchin, Christian started to slowly carve his way up through the ranks which eventually led him to be able to gain access to the Echelon Express and travel to Ground Zero. It was here that he was able to obtain information regarding the cold-hearted murder of his father. What he learned shocked Christian completely.
Turned out that his father was slowly building up a rebel faction. He knew that despite all the good that the government had done for everyone Underground, he knew that there was still corruption within its walls. The Eight were no longer a group of representatives who could be completely trusted with the will of the people. Their drive to safeguard everyone was starting to dwindle and his father had been planning on stopping it. Though he knew that not everyone who belonged to The Eight had bad intentions, and not all were corrupted, but Jackson had been determined on discovering just who it was that was starting to become twisted thanks to the power they had been given.
He was killed because he had gotten close. So very close.
From this moment onward, Christian spent every waking moment trying to figure out how to get his revenge against the so-called “just and incorruptible system” known as Shangri-La. They were all filthy liars and he would get his revenge…slowly. But first, he had to rally followers for his cause and get stronger. Money and clout on the streets were his best assets.
At eighteen, Christian quit street hustling and began to hunt local bounties in Ground Zero, turning them in to collect the reward. For two years he was a successful bounty hunter, learning the ropes and trying to get others to help him. It was a grueling sort of struggle, but it had to be done. Most of his subordinates he would have to bargain with and others he would have them owing their very lives to him. What better way to have a life owed to you than capturing them and offering them a deal? He wouldn’t turn them in if they remained loyal to him and worked for him.
This deal was quite successful with many of his bounty heads. He soon realized that not even all of the bounties were completely bad guys. They just had bad circumstances handed to them that were out of their control. Either they’d been thrown out and trying to survive or they were wrongly accused and fleeing for their lives. Christian took all under his wing and those who willingly joined his cause were more than happy to serve under him.
A few years went by and he managed to befriend fellow bounty hunter, Kokia Luxin, and discovered that while his cause for bounty hunting was to gain more money to further strengthen his cause, she was doing it merely for clout and money. After all, she was the next heir to the Luxin Clan of Otrera’s Warriors. What did she need to gather a revolutionary force for when she was fine living and surviving? But that didn’t stop him from continually asking her – as well as her fellow companions – to join up with his band of rebels. She has continued to say no and Christian has continued to pursue her. With a power like that amongst the rest of his group of humans, and varying Shifters, he would be an unstoppable force. Problem was that she didn’t take orders very well because she was used to giving them.
During the course of his gathering of his forces, Christian caught word of another rebel force gathering its strength under a female Naga Demi by the name of Sunila. Pleased to hear that he wasn’t the only one hoping to destroy the government, Christian was determined to have an audience with this female and her group. Perhaps they could join forces…or if she proved to be a hindrance to his ultimate goal, they would become enemies and see which one of them would claim victory in the end.
{♠}Christian’s name is of Latin origins and means “Christ-like.” Ironic that the Lord’s teaching of “turn the other cheek” don’t exactly apply to this individual. His middle name, Garrett, comes from Ireland, meaning “brave spear,” while his last name, Palmer hails from Greece and its meaning is unknown.
