Hello and Welcome to Penance! If you are new to Penance, please read and familiarize yourself with the rules (and everything else) before playing. We love to have fun on the site and to have fun, it's good to know the rules.
We are finally open for others to join! Granted, we're low on members so if you manage to just take a peek in here, please let others know that we are now open and ready to start rping with you! Don't hesitate to ask for help in the C-box or PM an Administrator (ANY of us will do, I promise) with any concerns you may have.
--Penance is Almost Done!--
We still have a long way to go before we can get this site up and underway. Just a few more pushes and shoves and we'll be well on our way! Let's try our best!
Carnal Sin is THE highlight hangout for rogue activity and the central area of Ground Zero that causes many individuals of all races and walks of life to flock there. A combination night club and strip joint, drinks are poured by the gallon almost every night and the music is always there to set whatever mood you may be in. Also, illegal deals and other "business transactions" take place here. An ideal stake-out place, but be wary of how close and how often you come if that's your main reason for heading this way. Despite Carnal Sin's sophisticated appeal, brawls do occur here often.
Yes, it has managed to survive and thrive. Not for the average shopper, this place consists of all commerce on which applicable taxes are being evaded. The market includes not only legally-prohibited commerce (for example, drugs, prostitution, and gambling activities that are illegal in some locales), but also trade in legal goods and services because some income is not reported and consequently taxation is evaded, e.g., through money laundering, payment in caeconomy, or black market consists of all commerce on which applicable taxes are being evaded.
The underground economy also includes transactions that governments may allow to be free of taxation, either by legal sanction or by simply choosing to refrain from enforcement of tax laws in certain markets. The term underground economy typically is not used to refer to trade in stolen goods, which is also given the name "black market".
*All illegal business deals, whether rogue affiliated or not are done here
An arena of death and sick fantasies involving blood baths, Reaper Colosseum is one of the most exciting forms of entertainment Ground Zero has to offer and where all the Zones know about. It is dank and the lighting isn't exactly the brightest in the world, but that makes it all the more exciting for the audience to watch the battles taking place in the arena below. Modeled after the old Roman Gladiator Colosseum, the stone and steel architecture gives off a looming sense of something ominous. There is a wrought iron gate at its entrance way. Not only do humans and non-humans compete against each other, but those of their own race compete against each other as well. The fights do not always end in fatality, but it does happen. Audience members often bet on their favorite contenders.
Off to the side is a concession stand where one can order either food or drinks if they can stomach either during the blood matches. There are also individuals who walk around during the fights with these same items to hand to people who do not wish to leave their seats.
Depth of Bagnio (also known as a brothel or whorehouse) is an establishment specifically dedicated to prostitution, providing the prostitutes a place to meet and to have sex with the clients. Some are even known to stay here to make their work life that much easier. Though Depth of Bagnio disguises itself as a simple massage parlor, there is no denying that this place is, indeed, a whore house.
Come here if you're willing to pay the price of sin.
Small and not incredibly well-funded, the Aider Clinic doesn't boast that large of a staff - though most are all excellent medical professionals. While they welcome everyone through their doors, there are those patients they simply are not equipped to help and have to shunt to The Capital for treatment.
Origa Housing District is just as it states, a housing district set up for houses of reasonable sizes, as well as town houses and apartments. Ground Zero does have space issues, but no one really cares here in The Slums. The rich and poor alike live here and they live alone or with tenants (and usually committing some act of sin). Live with a roommate at your own risk and the same goes for inviting people into your home at Ground Zero. You're liable to get raped, robbed, or killed in the blink of an eye; trusting is done at your own discretion.
*PM an Administrator with details on your house/apartment/town house and DON'T post in anyone's place without their permission first!*
This subway station allows those in Level Ground Zero to board the Echelon Express, the only subterranean train that travels and stops through each Zone underground throughout the day, all day.
Those coming in and out of Ground Zero must board this train in order to travel into and out of this zone to get to the other zones underground.
Way of Delphian (or known as Delphian Passage) is located just beyond the deeper recesses of Bête Noire Station. Though dangerous to venture down these dark corridors of subterranean railways, it is well worth it. Why, you ask? Because by traversing through the open wall in Delphian Passage, you are able to make your way through a long line of channels that will eventually lead you up to the surface level! What's even better is that Way of Delphian is not as guarded as the Doom Gate of Zone 3, so the only opposition you will face is Echelon Express as it is coming and going through Bête Noire Station.
Again, caution must be met when traveling through Way of Delphian. It can seem like a never ending labyrinth if one is not careful.
