"So...any of you good at putting music to lyrics?" asked Daichi. Jiiro glanced toward Che, one eyebrow raised slightly.

He had his answer when the younger male said, "I am, but I don't feel like singing today." He looked to Jiiro. "And since Daichi wrote the lyrics, that means you gotta sing."

Well, that was all well and good for Jiiro. He didn't like to mess with other people's instruments, if he could help it. This meant he wouldn't have to. He let the other musicians take their places, tuning their equipment. Humming scales softly to himself to get his throat warmed up, Jiiro mounted the stage, taking the notebook from Che, his bright blue eyes skimming over the words.

He barely heard Che's next words. "All right man. It's all on you. We'll worry about the beat. You just concentrate on singing." He was too busy glancing over the words and listening for the beginnings of the music. Once it began, Jiiro waited a bit longer, catching the melody, before he began to sing. Redemption was a good song with a good beat, and he quite liked how it turned out. By the time it was over, the last notes dying away, Jiiro had broken out in a light sweat, having used a great deal of effort to improvise the words with the music that Che had begun.

The feline shifter took a deep breath, exhaling slowly, before he glanced around at the others on the stage. "Hey... you guys got any water around here?" he finally asked, giving the entire group a broad grin. "That was kickass, but I'm parched." His tongue felt a bit dryer than normal, and he rubbed it against the roof of his mouth in an effort to work some saliva around. "And... Daichi...those lyrics were pretty awesome. You just came up with those today?"

Daichi grinned and climbed up the steps onto the stage as Che answered, "I am, but I don't feel like singing today," before turning to tell Jiiro, "And since Daichi wrote the lyrics, that means you gotta sing." He blinked a bit at that, having figured he would have been told to sing his own song but shrugged it off. If playing with them could help him to figure out the music to the song it would be worth not singing it.

Trying to figure out the music to go with the opening line had been driving him crazy for weeks. Nothing he had come up with yet sounded even remotely right with it, which made this the most bothersome song he had ever written.

As Che took the notebook after he flipped it open to the proper page, he watched the other canine tap his foot and bob his head along as he read over the lyrics. Then he nodded to Brandon and Tommy before picking up one of the two guitars sitting on stage as he pulled out the pick he had been fiddling with in the auditorium. As he adjusted it, he nodded towards the other guitar, saying, "I'm assuming you know what to do from there, right?" and Daichi eagerly picked it up, plugging it into the waiting amplifier. Patting over his pockets came up with a black guitar pick and he tilted his head slightly as he strummed a few notes to tune it to something close to the sound of his own instrument. Instead of speaking, he let his actions and his smile as he stood waiting answer Che's question since they worked just as well.

As Jiiro took the notebook and prepared to start singing, he looked towards Che as he began playing, listening intently for a moment. Then Daichi dove into the song, picking up where it felt he should be and he could not stop the grin that spread across his face as the feline started singing.

It was...perfect.

As the last notes of the song faded and Jiiro said, "And... Daichi...those lyrics were pretty awesome. You just came up with those today?" he pulled the guitar strap over his head and gently sat it back down. His fingertips were tingling from playing and his right hand was shaking, eager to get a writing utensil back into it. The just finished music was still racing through his head, as loud as it had been moments ago, and he wanted to grab his notebook and write it all down.

Drawing in a breath to quell his urges, Daichi smiled at Jiiro and laughed lightly. "I finished them today and put in the last changes," he answered. "They've actually been sitting in that notebook for months unfinished because I couldn't fit music to the opening." Turning to look at Che, Brandon, and Tommy, he continued, "Totally did not imagine this morning that I would not only finish them but run into people that would give me music that fit them so well."

Che smiled as the end of the song drew to a close. He couldn't believe he'd found the niche he'd been searching for all this time. Ignoring the sweat on his brow, the werewolf shifter attempted to blow some of his jet bangs from off his forehead as it clung to his skin. This was what he'd been looking for; dreaming for.

The youngest Izumi grinned his toothy grin and licked his lip ring. He loved music so much; just as much as he loved computers and programming. Even more so, perhaps. He had desired for what seemed like ages to meet a group of people who enjoyed music as much as himself. Che wanted to encircle himself around people who found the sound and creation of music a blessing - a miracle - and could bask in the wonder of it.

It was because of this desire that Che had decided not to form a band when he'd been in high school. So many of his classmates wanted to obtain the "fame and glory" that came with the idea of a band. Getting money and working gig to gig just to boost up their image and, in the end, cared nothing about the music itself, but about pleasing the mainstream listeners.

And now, right before Che's very eyes, were two individuals - shifters no less - who wanted to create something as majestic as he'd always envisioned.

Che's ears caught Jiiro mentioning wanting water and he looked to Brandon who, concurring with Jiiro's parched feeling, decided to go and fetch them all water. The drummer got up from his set and slipped out the back door of the large performance space when he heard Daichi's voice at last. "Totally did not imagine this morning that I would not only finish them but run into people that would give me music that fit them so well."

Che smirked as he removed the guitar from his shoulder and gently set it down by his feet on the stand from whence it came. "That's what happens when you meet guys who have an affinity with music the way that you, yourself, do." He wiped his forearm across his forehead and sighed, rubbing the side of his nose and letting the pad of his index finger brush against his nose ring. "I know this may a be a bit early for me to say this, but I think we work damn well together," said Che, pausing to look at the two shifters while plopping onto the edge of the stage and letting his legs dangle from the side. "What do you guys think?"

"I finished them today and put in the last changes," replied Daichi. "They've actually been sitting in that notebook for months unfinished because I couldn't fit music to the opening. Totally did not imagine this morning that I would not only finish them but run into people that would give me music that fit them so well."

The other guy smirked, removing the guitar from his shoulder and setting it down before wiping his brow with his forearm. "That's what happens when you meet guys who have an affinity with music the way that you, yourself, do. I know this may a be a bit early for me to say this, but I think we work damn well together," said Che as he settled down on the edge of the stage, his legs dangling from the side. "What do you guys think?"

Jiiro gave Brandon a grateful nod when he came back with bottles of water, taking one from him. He unscrewed the cap, taking a long, healthy drink from it before he settled down cross-legged on the stage. His tongue darted out, removing a bit of stray water from his lips, before he looked from Daichi to Che. "Well, regardless of when you started it, Daichi, they're still fantastic lyrics. I really like them."

He finished off the bottle of water, rolling his shoulders slightly to work out the tension before he turned to Che. "You're right, you know. We do work rather well together. Kinda funny, isn't it? Like... fate or something." He grinned, running a hand through his dark hair. He liked the way it had been put - an affinity with music. If only his parents could be convinced that something like that even existed. They seemed to think that he would fail miserably in what he'd set out to do. It wasn't like he wanted fame or anything; he just wanted to be able to play music and get by.

The stage felt pretty good as he leaned back, resting his forearms against it. The surface was smooth and cool. He closed his eyes for a moment, blocking out the light from the ceiling. I really need to remember my glasses, he thought to himself. At least they're tinted enough to give me some protection.

Daichi could feel his hand still shaking even as he reached for the bottle of water Brandon offered upon his return. Nodding his thanks to the drummer, he took a long swallow then screwed the cap back on. He didn't need the water to drink...he just needed something to hold to keep himself from running away to a corner with his notebook and a pen.

"That's what happens when you meet guys who have an affinity with music the way that you, yourself, do. I know this may a be a bit early for me to say this, but I think we work damn well together," he heard Che say and looked towards the other canine shifter as he flopped down at the edge of the stage. As soon as "What do you guys think?" was asked, he glanced sideways at Jiiro, waiting to see what the feline would say.

Hearing "Well, regardless of when you started it, Daichi, they're still fantastic lyrics. I really like them," first made him smile. His parents had been the only ones to ever really hear his music and, while they both enjoyed it, his and his father's idea of music were like night and day. Orchestral was all well and good and he liked it but...it wasn't what he wanted to play.

As Jiiro said, "You're right, you know. We do work rather well together. Kinda funny, isn't it? Like... fate or something," Daichi couldn't help but nod. The way Che had started off playing had fit perfectly, better than anything he had ever come up with, and how Jiiro had gone through the lyrics was simply mind boggling. Every word had been close to exactly how he had sang them himself when he was checking over the lyrics to make sure they fit...only better.

Fate? Oh yes, he could believe that.

"You are right," he said as he sat down on the edge of the stage himself, legs dangling off like Che. A wide smile stretched his mouth as he looked at the two of them and continued, "That might have been the best thrown together piece of music I've ever heard; and I've heard a lot. If that's not fate pounding on the door demanding to be let in at the top of its lungs, well then I don't know what is."

Che smirked at the two shifters he'd met today. Yes, this wasn't just a mere coincidence. Bad enough that Che Izumi didn't believe in coincidences as it stood. But running into these guys just further pushed his mind into believing that this happened and it happened for a damn good reason. The mere thought of it sent a shiver to run up and down Che's back and sent a shudder to his shoulder blades. But instead of reacting physically and draw attention to himself, his smile grew and he took a swig of his water happily.

This...was fate.

"You're right, you know. We do work rather well together. Kinda funny, isn't it? Like... fate or something," said Jiiro, which caused Che to quirk a brow while slowly letting his arm fall - pulling the water bottle away from his lips. Well if that wasn't the lucky mind fuck of the day, Che didn't know what was.

"You are right," said Daichi and Che brought one of his feet up to rest on the edge of the stage so he could prop his elbow onto his knee. The elder male shifter took his seat next to him and began dangling his legs off the edge like Che had been prior to just seconds before. There was an unmistakable smile on Daichi's face; a smile of satisfaction and fulfillment. A smile of purpose and accomplishment only true musicians could feel and interpret it for what it was. "That might have been the best thrown together piece of music I've ever heard; and I've heard a lot. If that's not fate pounding on the door demanding to be let in at the top of its lungs, well then I don't know what is."

Che could hold back his excitement no further. He placed his water onthe stage and immediately jumped to his feet. Looking from both Daichi to Jiiro, he could not stop the laughter that erupted from his lips as the blood pumped through out his body; invigorating his spirit. "Fuck yeah!" He yelled, holding both of his fists together shoulder width apart. "Then whaddya guys say about us becoming a group? Let's start this band and show the world what our music is made of. We'll show them just what kind of gift fate has brought to us and we'll bring it to them - we'll bring it to the world!"

Jiiro readjusted himself, rolling his head a little to ease the tension in his neck. After his little stretching routine, he opened his eyes to focus on Daichi and Che. He grasped the empty water bottle in his hand, setting it between his crossed legs, before he rested his hands on his knees, perfectly at ease in the company of this pair.

"You are right," said Daichi as he settled on the stage, dangling his legs off the side. He gave a wide grin as he looked at the other two before continuing with, "That might have been the best thrown together piece of music I've ever heard; and I've heard a lot. If that's not fate pounding on the door demanding to be let in at the top of its lungs, well then I don't know what is."

"Fuck yeah!" yelled Che, pumping his fists into the air not long after he jumped to his feet. Jiiro gave a slight start before relaxing again with a slight grin on his face. "Then whaddya guys say about us becoming a group? Let's start this band and show the world what our music is made of. We'll show them just what kind of gift fate has brought to us and we'll bring it to them - we'll bring it to the world!"

Jiiro just couldn't help it; he chuckled, sitting forward once more to look at the other two. "Hell, why not?" he asked, running a hand through his hair once more. "I think we've all got what it takes. But... we'd need a drummer, wouldn't we? Unless either of you happens to be good with 'em? I mean, I'm no good with the damned things." He glanced pointedly to the drums behind them, one dark eyebrow raising slightly. "Anything with strings, sure, and vocals, of course. Drums? Never could quite get the feel of them."

Daichi jumped slightly as Che jumped to his feet and blinked as the other canine burst out laughing before he yelled out, "Fuck yeah!" For a split second before the other shifter continued, he thought he might have gone a little mad. "Then whaddya guys say about us becoming a group? Let's start this band and show the world what our music is made of. We'll show them just what kind of gift fate has brought to us and we'll bring it to them - we'll bring it to the world!"

Glancing behind him at Jiiro, Daichi pondered over Che's words. Form a band? It certainly was something he had always wanted to do - to play with others that loved the same sort of music he did - but he had never imagined it actually happening.

Like the feline shifter had said...it was like fate.

"Hell, why not?" he heard from behind him, breaking his train of thought. Daichi focused in on Jiiro as he continued, I think we've all got what it takes. But... we'd need a drummer, wouldn't we? Unless either of you happens to be good with 'em? I mean, I'm no good with the damned things. Anything with strings, sure, and vocals, of course. Drums? Never could quite get the feel of them."

Chuckling, he shook his head slightly before he said, "Well then if you two are in, so am I." Daichi felt the smile from earlier return to his lips and his right hand began to shake again with the urge to write something - anything - musical. As soon as he had time alone to actually write, he was going to have at least a few pages full. He could feel the inspiration spawned by their playing practically dancing in his head. "And I know how to play drums, Jiiro. Now I've been out of practice for a few years as I haven't played since high school but I'm sure I could manage well enough."
