In order to cross Snake Way you must simply create a topic about it. In five hours time you will be considered to have crossed. However you may be attacked by denizens of the afterlife on the way. If you do not respond to such an encounter by the end of the five hours you will fall. Alternativly, if you hate waiting or want to see the other side of the Afterlife, you may simply post that you have jumped.
