Pride Park Juniors v Mickleover Sports Club
We had cemented our position in 3rd place, but we were determined not to let the season just fizzle out, after a great season we wanted end it on a high. Even though the scorelines in the two previous matches against Mickleover Sports had resulted in comfortable high scoring victories, they had shown qualities in those matches, that with a bit of luck, they could give us problems. Mickleover gave us plenty of problems in the first 15 minutes and it was no surprise when they took the lead,I say it was no surprise because,no matter what we did at the other end, their goalkeeper was in tremendous form, saving everything we threw at him, shot after shot, chance after chance, went begging and only because of the keeper's form,he was outstanding. Just before half time,a loose ball in the box,was put away by Danny to make the score 1-1,with the keeper in inspired form,it was a big relief to see the ball in the net,but we should of at least had 10 by this time. Half Time Pride Park Juniors 1 v 1 Mickleover Sports The second half was much different to the first,we completely dominated it,a late challenge by the keeper on Kieran, gave cause for concern,it was a poor challenge, but more clumsy than dirty and the keeper was distraught, that Kieran had been injured. A penalty had been given because of the foul on Kieran and Jamie slotted the ball home for 2-1,we continued to dominate and added two late goals, curtesy of Joseph, the second being the type of header, myself and Tony had been crying out for all season, straight from a corner and bang into the back of the net. Full Time Pride Park Juniors 4 v 1 Mickleover Sports A great end to a great season.well done boys!!! groupz footie footie footie |
