Allestree Juniors Madrid 1-0 Pride Park Juniors.

Definately one of those games where the result doesn't reflect the match,even though at times we came under a lot of pressure,the boys gave as good as they got and put a very good Allestree side on the back foot for most of the 1st half,which finished 0-0.we hit the post, they hit the bar,we also had a couple of efforts cleared off the line,this was pattern of the game for much of the match.
With both teams playing an agreed 8 a side,the boys lined up with Reece in goal,Chandler,Josh and Andrej at the back,Thomas,Joseph and Dele across the midfield and Deegan upfont.Andrej was very good in defence,very solid,but also saw a long range effort just miss the post,with chandler also solid at the back any chances that allestree had were quickly snuffed out.David also did very well when coming on winning some important headers and tackles.
Going forward,Joseph,Dele and Thomas Created chance after chance and each came close on several occasions,Deegan too created chances and had a few one on ones with the keeper but was unable to convert.
The goal came against the run of play with with 6 mins to go when we lost posession on the right side of the defence and the forward raced on to place the ball under an advancing Reece in goal.
Afterwards myself and Tony told the boys that if they continued to play like that in the coming season,then they will win more games than not.Very pleased with performance if not the result.
