Wasn't sure where to post this but it came up in a conversation I had the other week whem remembering previous D&D games we had played.

I've always enjoyed the old Judges Guild scenarios and the Dark Tower is probably my all time favourite.

Anyway, we got talking about favourite NPC characters, particularly villians. I remember being given serious grief by Mirth in the aforementioned Dark tower scenario.

Anyone else got any memorable NPC's

Cheers Wayne.

Icar, from the 2nd Slavers module became a recurring thorn in the sides of the party I was DMing for years ago. He just kept popping up unexpectedly and it drove them crazy because they never managed to get their hands on him.

I would really like to see an Otherworld version of Count Strahd von Zarovich. I know that there are a number of vampire miniatures out there but none of them really fits the bill. Heresy's Lord von Blutgericht seems too brutal, while the one by Freebooter is a little too effeminate for Strahd...

A little off topic but since vampires have been brought up, I thought I would share a thought. Have you ever noticed how many vampire miniatures are dressed like Count Dracula? It makes since for a vampire to dress in older style clothes than today’s styles if the vampire is powerful enough to not need to blend in or just moved from far away. But why when the PC miniatures are sort of dressed in clothes from 13th century to 15th century are almost all vampires dressed in 18th or 19th century clothes. I know some artist out there could draw an awesome vampire in medieval clothes or even better an ancient vampire in Greek or Roman clothes so we could get a vampire that is not from the fashion future.

Excellent point. A vampire should be dressed appropriately for the period in which he is. So, in the movie Fright Night, for example, it is precisely because Jerry Dandridge appears to be so normal that everyone finds it difficult to believe that he is in fact a vampire.

So maybe we can see an Otherworld Vampire, dressed in a more medieval fashion...
