Hi All,

Next month marks the 5th Anniversary of Otherworld Miniatures, and to celebrate I'll be running a series of sales and promotions over the next couple of months. These start today with a sale on many items in the webstore, mostly with discounts of 10 - 20%, but some are marked down by 25%, 33%, 40% and even 50%. The sale will run until 4th October 2011. Anyone who makes a purchase during the sale will be entered into a prize draw to be held later in the year.

October will see the release of our first Limited Edition model. It's a conversion pack for the DD1 Demon Idol (which was our first ever release), featuring a pair of climbing thieves, 2 braziers, and altar, a scenic diorama base and other accessories for recreating the scene from that well-known book cover. Here's a quick snap of some of the parts as a work-in-progress on Kev Adams' sculpting desk.



In November, we'll be running prize draws and a painting competition, and possibly holding an open day at Otherworld HQ.

Oh, I forgot to ask if there was a new miniature associated with the last voucher scheme similar to last year?

No, that's on my 'to do very soon' list. It might be an altar/brazier set (different altar from the DD1 piece, but the same braziers), or it might be a master casting of something from the 2nd half of 2011. More details soon, hopefully with a poll.

Guess, it's not something I'll have a use for, but sure looks good - and will make an awesome scenery piece. Probably more interested knowing what's on the ordinary release schedule for November/December. Hopefully will see something spectacular.

And will try and see if I can sneak in an order before the 4th, as there are some rather cool bargains in there ;)

can we use our vouchers for the sale?

This looks amazing. I might have to buy another Stone Demon Idol to go with this set. Just so I have one for display and one for gaming. I've been looking forward to seeing this since you first mentioned it.

No, sorry, voucher credit cannot be used in combination with any other sale, promotion or special offer. If you want to use vouchers, you'll need to refer to the 'usual price' listed in the webstore sections, or use the standard 'add to cart' buttons to buy items at sale price.

Just an idea Richard but if you hold an open day how about holding or allowing to be held on site a game of everybody’s favourite 1st edition game, just for all the otherworld enthusiasts to join in and bring their toys....

Assuming it did not clash with anything, I would aim to get there for an open day, you are only 1 hour away.

Been scrambling for a MONTH now to get some cash into my Paypal account. :angry: It will annoy me no end if I miss this sale.

Ugh, it's like pulling teeth. I must now "wait 1-2 days until the next step in the process." Again, and again, and again.

I think I got an order in. Paypal may have caused me to experience an aneurism in the process, but it appears, yes, I've ordered four figures, just received confirmation via Email. Somehow, Paypal has managed to take what should be a very simple thing and mangle it into an absurdly roundabout way of not actually getting it quite done.

I think now I'll go have a nice lie-down.... :blink:

Some of you eagle-eyed chaps may have noticed that the sale is still running! I decided to let it run a bit longer, and will now close it down on 4th November, the day after our official birthday. There's still time to grab a few bargains!

Very impressive,and great timing too,as I just bought the demon idol from a distributor not too long ago ( I'm a late OW demon idol bloomer,so to speak.) I hope in the future maybe we can get the rest of the diorama ( dead lizard men/adventurers,etc.etc.) Btw,did anyone ever figure out what god the demon idol is supposed to be? Best I can come up with is either Mammon or Moloch...I asked one of my TSR friends that worked there at the time,and even he didn't know for certain.

I don't think it's supposed to be any specific demon.

I'm cool with that, the unknown is more evocative.

I'm pretty sure it is just "artistic licence."

A quick update on the sale - I'm getting quite close to bringing a new webstore online, so there's no point in making changes to the current one. So the sale will run until the old site is no more and www.otherworldminiatures.co.uk takes over.
