Title: New Greens, KB5 - Kobold Tribal Pack (6)
Otherworld - May 28, 2009 05:31 PM (GMT)
Here are the greens for the next (and final) pack of Kobolds. KB5 - Kobold Tribal Pack consists of 2 females and 4 young. One of the young Kobolds has been designed to be based with one of the females on a 25mm base, or they can be based independently on 20mm bases if preferred.

All 6 models together.

A size comparison with a Pig-faced Orc.

The females.

The kids.
They were sculpted by John Pickford, and will be available around 20th June, priced £7.50 per pack.

I need to buy just enough of these to completely fill out a fireball template. My party is eatin' good tonight!

Excellent work as always! :)

I really love the whole kobold range - they are among my favourites. Easy enough to paint - really distinguished from other companies (most kobolds are just way, way too large) and with the tribal pack you can now also add females and kids.
I still have not yet started painting my last large delivery :( but these are now on my list. It is not a question if I buy them - rather when - and if I take more then one.
Just one question - are the kobolds now complete with this set - I can't recall any further plans - but I'm too lazy to check that out right now.

Thanks, guys, I'm glad that you like them.
Yes, Thod, that's it for the Kobolds, the tribe is now complete.

They really look nicely and I love them, but there are two things I am missing or viewing critical.
| QUOTE (Monster Manual) |
| If 200 or more kobolds are encountered there will be ... 30-300 eggs. |
First of all, I would have liked to see a nest with eggs.
Second the kobold females appear to have breasts like humans. This won't make sense to me. I hope it's just the angle of the picture.
Will still buy them, just excuse my grumbling.

I love these. Despite the fact that I have bought a bunch I think I will buy the boxed set as well.
I am fine with breasts on the women and visible willies on the men. I like to see breasts on any female monsters.
Androgyny confuses my Paladin.

If you say female kobolds need breasts despite laying eggs, the number of mammary glands should correspond with those of dogs (eight or ten - don't need the exact number, but more than two would be fine and would work well with the kobolds' high fertility).
I have no problem with breasts or penises. after all it was Richard, who explained to me, that there were no naughty bits on the trolls, because he don't thinks they are mammals and so the genitals shouldn't be external.

If they were hyper-realistic she wouldn't have a dress (a human convention) or a butchers knife (powerful canines). They wouldn't use clothes at all because they regulate body temperature differently than mammals.
The mini exists to act as a symbolic representation of femininity. This allows characters/players inclined to make role-playing choices based on gender an opportunity to do so.
If you don't like it just buy more males and use them as females.

Very cool and can't wait for the tribal box to come out!!!!

I'm fine with mammary glands on kobolds as I consider them to be monotremes like platypi or echidna.
I think I'll file off the penises on the males and use some green-stuff to give them cloacae.

They walk upright and have opposable thumbs, that makes them more primates than anything else. The artist made a decision that I can justify as well as suspend my disbelief.
Besides, at some point you have to say to yourself "It's a fantasy game." and let the questions go.

Trolls reproduce by hacking off a bit, and letting it regenerate into a whole new troll. At least this is what we did in our campaign, when we setup a troll breeding program.
Note, several dozen reduced trolls in a bag of holding, dropped out when flying over the bad guys castle is a fantastic tactic. We call it "troll bombing..." :P
