Otherworld - January 25, 2010 04:12 PM (GMT)
Very early days yet, but you can see some progress here. John Pickford's work. More to follow soon.

kodiakbear - January 25, 2010 04:58 PM (GMT)
Fear fills the heart of every fighter out there.
DukeoftheBloodKeep - January 25, 2010 06:58 PM (GMT)
Awesome, they look quite pervy in that top picture!
Welf VIII. - January 25, 2010 07:11 PM (GMT)
Awesome! As usual one must add.
Together with my two Rust Monsters from GW and one from Grenadier's Dungeon Dwellers Set, these might bring an end to many deadly weapons.

I'm definitely looking forward to these, Richard!---and the first head-on shots of the RMs look positively menacing: I don't ever recall seeing a Rust Monster snarl before ;)
Drew? - January 26, 2010 05:43 AM (GMT)
Oh Man!
FINALLY Rust Monsters how I always imagined them to be!
Jake B - January 26, 2010 06:43 PM (GMT)
Can't wait to get my hands on this one!
Looks great so far.
Cthulhu - January 26, 2010 07:15 PM (GMT)

Thier horny for your car keys and your pocket change.
Drew? - January 26, 2010 08:56 PM (GMT)
I ACTUALLY have a pair of Rust Monsters in the scenario I am working on at the moment LoL!
One of the great underrated Monsters IMHO!
marjasall - January 27, 2010 02:11 AM (GMT)
Man, these get me excited. I love the pitbull stance.
Just as I expected - these beat any rust monster mini that I've ever seen before - and they aren't even done yet. Perfect! :D

I suspect they will attempt to devour my paypal account whole!
Chgowiz - January 27, 2010 12:29 PM (GMT)
I like! Oh yes, please.. a pair of them would be so sweet to sic on my players.
Thryth - January 28, 2010 01:49 AM (GMT)
Rust Monsters! Yea!!!
I've been looking forward to Otherworld making these.
marjasall - January 28, 2010 04:13 AM (GMT)
It looks much like the plastic toy version from the '70s, but much better - more refined.

(I found this pic somewhere online - I don't own one of these plastic ones, but did when I was a kid).

The Rusties are just about finished. I'll see if I can get John to send a couple of snaps before he boxes them up, or failing that, I'll do some pics myself next week.
Ceowald - January 31, 2010 07:08 PM (GMT)
These are brilliant! Can't wait to paint these.....
DukeoftheBloodKeep - January 31, 2010 07:14 PM (GMT)
Ooooooh! Pictures would be great. Is there any word on the other models? Who is working on the were-creatures?

I to am interested in seeing what OW has for us for the were-creatures.

I have YET to see any Were-Creature Mini's that have really impressed me - so I await these with baited breath!

What would you want to see? A more animalistic were-creature a more humanistic or something else? just wondering.

I QUITE like the Werewolf from Heresy (well I must do, I own one LoL) - but its too 'gangly' and monkey-like really.

The WestWind Werewolves are, well - to be frank - Crap!

The Blue Moon ones aren't much better!

The Reaper ones don't quite do it for me either!
I suppose I am looking for dynamic, without being silly - strong without looking mis-proportioned or bulky!

I agree it is great in its dynamicness but it a little long in the arms.
As I was looking over the reaper ones I hit a little goof on there web site.
It made me think: was this before she was hit with wereness and undeadness.

Overall I quite like the reaper line, but it can be hit and miss sometimes!

I have purchased over a hundred blisters of reaper miniatures so I know I like some of reapers stuff but like you say they miss sometimes. Mostly the sculpts are very well done. But some times the style is what really bothers me.
caputo - February 2, 2010 08:58 PM (GMT)
The small Black Tree werewolf I have certainly has camp value
kodiakbear - February 8, 2010 02:16 AM (GMT)
Back to the Rust Monsters.
It is so greatl that OW is doing two sculpts. The fact that Richard is about to release twice as many rust monsters than any other mini maker even the huge WOTC who owns the game they first appeared in shows how cool OW is.
