The woods are silent, the only sound through them is the whirring of the wind. It doesn't bother him though, as he walks along. Here, nothing matters. Nothing at all is of more importance than doing this, this one special deed in which his mind had forced him to believe was necessary. He followed the scent, and it has led him here. To his doom? To their doom? None of this is on his mind as he slowly walks into the clearing. The scent of wolves is heavy, almost oppressive as it reaches his nares. He doesn't like it. He never has. But there's one scent that stands above the others...
Kroenen had been walking for a while, but it wasn't all that bad. The silence was nice - even the walking was nice. The slow, smooth methodical movements he took were completely calculated, as if he were some sort of robot. His face was it's usual stoic masking, not showing anything except the strange hardness in his eyes. His usual bright pink eyes were darker, almost smouldering, his movements odd and slightly off. If one knew the brute they would know that he was not entirely himself. But no one did. There would be no one back their standing up for him. Like he really cared.
He flicked up a brow slightly as he looked around, searching for the wolves in their dens. He had been so quiet in his approach, but he knew that at least someone should have heard him, unless of course, the pack was elsewhere. His tail swished soundlessly behind him, his stance spread out as he finally stopped, digging his nails into the soft loam of the freshly thawed earth. He was here. Kroenen. The time of silence was over. His lips bared back, revealing sharp canines, his head whipping around from side to side. The feral, almost rabid look in his eye made the picture even more terrifying for the weak hearted. His hackles were standing straight up on his nape, his head tucked cautiously towards his chest. He said nothing, looking around anxiously, only breathing. He leapt forwards, tearing into one of the dens. Empty, but he had known that. His mask turned into a grin, a sadistic, but almost melancholy grin.
"Andariel, I'm here," were his whispered words, as he emerged, causing a bit more destruction around the den area before leaping into a cave which smelt rather uninhabited and waited. Waited for them.

Kalen limped into the densite. And what did his eyes meet, but a wolf he had never seen before rampaging around in his dens?! It was a good thing no one was here, for this one had a rabid, brutal look about him, with deep pink eyes and fur the color of midnight. Kalen knew in an instant that he couldn't take this wolf alone, but he surely could try.
The first thing the old alpha did was howl as loud as he could for backup, and then he turned his light green eyes hatefully on the challenger. A snarl ripped through him, and all at once his teeth were bared, his hackles were raised, his ears were pinned, and he was wishing the most unimaginably painful death upon the disgusting creature that dared to defile their dens with its very scent.
He stalked forward, ready to spring and rip the throat out of the creature at any moment. "WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?" Fury beyond any fury he could possibly show. Already, thorns from the den barrier were cracking and spiraling slowly towards the wolf, ready to spring and entangle him in their sharp branches the moment he gave the order. If he didn't get out now or explain why he was here, this wolf was dead.

Kroenen chuckled, the sound which began as a rumble in his chest, then moved to bellow out of his lungs and through the cave. It provided nice acoustics. He didn't move from the shadows, watching the new wolf with his larger pink eyes. It was after he spoke that Kroenen moved, slowly emerging from the shadowy abyss of the cave. His head was down, his chin being tucked down to protect his neck, so his gaze was downturned and glaring. He grinned wildly, staring at the old alpha and whipping his tail about angrily.
"Look Andy, you know what I'm doing here. So hand them over before I force you to," he said with a snarl, his brows narrowing as he stared at the male. it was an odd sort of stare, as if he was even looking past him, or through him. Not even at him, taking in that in fact the wolf was no one who he had ever seen before, no one whom he had ever known. He leapt down from the stones, snarling again and baring his teeth.

Another furious, violent snarl was all the other wolf gained from Kalen. "There is no Andy here. Now I'm going to ask you one more time, and only one more time. Who are you and what are you doing here? Or do I need to teach you a lesson about intruding into Kemi territory uninvited? I have an entire pack that would like nothing better than to tear you limb from limb and feed you to the crows!"
He took another few steps forward, not far from the other wolf now, just a few steps and a leap and they would be face to face. A good, fair distance. He was no novice to fighting, that was for sure. "Either way, you better make your paws move and GET OUT! You're not welcome here!" Worry made him twitch with unease. He couldn't win this fight, if it was going to happen. He was too old to fight. If it came to it, he could hold his ground for a good few minutes before getting tired. He sniffed the air nervously, nose twitching.
He needed backup.

Kroe leapt down from the rocks of the cave, landing nimbly on his feet. His muscles were tense, all tightened up as he lowered his body low to the ground, carefully sizing up the male before him. It was obvious who had the advantage - the old, alpha against a much younger, vicious male? It wasn't very hard to see that unless some miracle happened, if a fight ensued, Kalen would need some help. His jaws unhinged, hanging open to reveal his teeth. His tail, which before had been whipping around his rear, was now tucked closer to his body, not in a show of submission, but in attempts to make sure it would not be a target. His eyes narrowed as he began to circle the alpha.
"You're a bad liar Andy, you remember what happened last time. Just hand over the pups and I'll leave. You don't deserve them anyways... that bastard!" he snarled, his eyes flaring up. With that, he snapped at the air in front of him, coiling his muscles up, and then springing towards Kalen. His defensives were strong - something he had learned over the years. The minute you let them down you're down. From his position, he moved his right paw, feigning a leapt towards the right, but pushed off, propelling himself to the left. From here, he whipped his body around, leaping with his claws out, and jaw open towards his shoulder, trying to curve his body around to stand parallel with the alphas.

I'm gonna scream, I'm gonna warn them here...
Well I told you I'd do it, told you I'd do it...!
Tye Dye woke with a start. He heard words in the air, odd for the night. He rose with a start, shaking the sleep from his eyes. Something wasn't right, and Tye didn't like it. He stretched for a moment, and then the sound of a distressed howl pierced his ears. Blinking furiously, he lurched forwards, his body running quickly towards the source of the howl. It wasn't a far run from where he was, but it took long enough. His heart was racing. What the hell was going on?! Tye growled below his breath and then came into view of the clearing.
He could see his alpha, Kalen, speaking to a cave. Tye stopped immediately, watching the occurrence, and then, when he thought it couldn't get any stranger, a midnight black wolf leapt out of the shadows. His eyes widened, and he watched as the male proceeded to attack Kalen. Tye bolted into the clearing - he was a fast little bugger - and leapt towards the alpha, letting what he thought was a vicious snarl out of his mouth. Barely out of puphood, the youngster only managed a small menacing growl as he flew over top of Kalen. He was intercepting the attack made for his alpha, a rather courageous move for the little wolf. His aim was to lock jaws with the male, forcing him up and off his feet. Or something. Tye didn't really know what he was planning to do yet...

Kroenen had meant to hit the alpha, a blow which he could have dodged, but either way, he would have gotten a grip on the male. But instead of hitting his target he was cut off by a flying, white and blue furball. Kroenen felt teeth close around his lower jaw, and instinctively bit down on the portion of the others mouth that was in his. He felt teeth dig into his own maw and tongue, snarling slightly. The pain was bearable - the blood lust and anger he felt numbed almost all physical blows, but it still hurt. Holding his defences, he wrenched his head to the side, going to pull the other, smaller male with him, and then to the other side, continuing to hold his jaw tightly, digging his teeth into the other's maw. He raised a paw, smacking it towards the male's face, trying to scratch his eye. He pushed forwards as he did this, knowing the alpha was still behind him. Wouldn't if be funny if the attacker tripped...
All thoughts in his mind were gone as he attacked, the only sensation through his body was anger. Anger for himself, anger for these... wolves, and anger for Andy.

It wasn't unusual for Shylee to sleep often during the night. In fact for the past little while she had kept to herself, sleeping most of the day and night. Occasionally she left, but only for a bit. Kalen, the alpha brought her food often, something that always made her exceptionally joyful. Tonight was no different, as she slept in her den. She woke suddenly to shouting, and an incredibly painful spasm in her belly. She yelped, though it was muffled by the earth and dirt surrounding her. She winced her eyes, shifting, and rolling over to a more comfortable position on her side. Her den was a dug out in the ground, large enough for her and even another wolf to fit in, so she was able to move around comfortably. She heard raised voices outside - recognizing the voice of Kalen. She whimpered slightly, hoping he would be okay through whatever the problem was. She could also hear the strange lyrical voice of another, someone who was not at all familiar to the female.
She moved again, attempting to pull herself out of the den, which she did manage to do. As she moved another spasm made her wince in pain and she yelped, pulling her body close together, not wanting to move again. Pinning her ears back she lifted her muzzle slightly, and yelled.
"KALEN!"

Confusion. Angst. He couldn't tell what was going on anymore. This was a battle the old wolf would lose, and he might die. He might die, and leave a pack, alone, helpless. Fenrir would take control at once, no one else would have the strength to step up in the event of his death... no one would know what he was leaving behind until the moment came, which was much sooner than he thought, that it became obvious... and then it would be too late, because Kalen would have never have told them, and there would be no solid proof...
He took a hasty step back when Kroenen showed signs of attacking. Bad move, especially for an alpha. But there was no need for defense, for of all wolves, it was Tye (the maiden as proclaimed by Horo) came soaring over his head, launching himself almost clumsily at the attacker and meeting his jaws head on. Ouch. That looked like it hurt, for both of them. He snarled in defense of his packmate, launching forward and lashing out with claws and teeth, meaning to give the wolf a good battering and some nice scratches to remember him by while he was preoccupied with Tye.
A cry broke his concentration, and he whipped around with wide, bright green eyes.
SHYLEE! THE PUPS!
He spotted her at once, even though his eyes weren't what they used to be, he could smell her. He could smell the distraught. At once, not even hesitating or sparing a glance back at Tye (poor thing), he threw himself across the densite and launched himself into Shylee's den, panic tearing his heart to painful shreds as it thudded against his chest like a drum. "SHYLEE! Shylee are you okay?!"

A screech in the night. Terrible scents of fury hit her nostrils like... like... like REALLY REALLY ANGRY WOLVES ABOUT TO RIP EACH OTHER'S THROATS OUT! Which was exactly what it was, actually. Horo, lurking somewhere nearby, heard the screeches and shouting. Her ears pricked, her russet tail flicked in interest, and she shifted her cherry eyes in the direction of the sound.
This could prove to be fun....
Fun indeed. At once, her furiously fast fast paws were flying along the ground, lithe form sliding through trees and across small clearings with apparent ease. After all, she had almost a thousand years of practice. The cream colored tips of her ears were pinned flat against her skull, contradicting the playful smile that seemed to flash across her face like it was frozen there.
She stopped abruptly, sniffing and looking around. There was Tye, fighting the intruder. Kalen, running across the site in response to the wail that came from Shylee. She gave the air of that direction a tender sniff.
Pups! Not that she hadn't noticed before, even though Kalen had been doing his best to hide his little affair with Shylee, but it was a bit of a shock. Weren't they a bit early? Just a bit. Oh well. If they were early, that meant Shylee needed her help.
She was faster than Kalen of course, reaching the mouth of the den before he was halfway there, but she let him attempt to slide in first. Waiting for Shylee to snarl and make him leave again. Her instincts wouldn't allow a male inside while she was birthing. Especially not the alpha, mate or not. Though Horo most likely wouldn't be rejected, because Shylee's instincts would also tell her if she needed help or not, and her brain wouldn't let her reject help from Horo, who was a bit over 600 years old. Silly. Wasn't it? How nature worked. And males were so stupid. An old wolf like Kalen should know not to enter the den of a birthing female. She rolled her red eyes, stretching her jaws in a yawn.

We're not gonna take it!
No, we ain't gonna take it!
Tye felt jaws surround his own, and he yelped loudly in pain. He was not expecting this situation to be so painful! With the other male's mouth around his upper jaw, it made it extremely hard to concentrate on anything else. He felt his eyes water, but he tensed his muscles, trying to ignore the pain (which was really bloody hard to do!) and make sure that he could save his pack. Which seemed... rather unlikely. He felt his head begin to thrash around, and he let his muscles tighten, letting the male move his head around. He released his grip, wanting the black male to let go of him. Then he felt him advance, and he stepped back with him, luckily not into Kalen.
During all this, Tye had barely realised that Kalen had left, or Shylee had screamed, or the immortal had ran through. All that mattered right now was getting Kroenen off of him, and then chasing him out. It that was even possible. The male was quite a lot larger than the small, just out of puphood, male. Tye focused his brain, trying not to let his ADHD tendencies take over. With another growl, he dug his heels in, trying to stop Kroenen from pushing him back. He couldn't think of anything else to do unless his jaw was let go. He felt a paw brush up against his face and he closed his eyes, glad that the claws were blunt. They scraped his face, but caused little damage, not what could be said about his bleeding and punctured maw. Owie.

Kroenen laughed when he heard Tye yelp, though the sound, muffled by jaws, teeth and fur, sounded more like a snort. His moving head seemed to cause little damage, and then suddenly the younger male stopped and provided resistance, and he felt his jaws slacken. Kroenen let go, whipping his head away and then moving towards the right, and then swinging his body around. It barely mattered that the alpha, Kalen had tried to attack, and then ran away. The sound of the female heavy with pups brought his attention back to his aim.
"Give me the pups, Novara... I know you have those half blood rats," he snarled, tasting the familiar taste of copper and iron on his tongue. Blood. The taste made his mind swirl and he tensed, his defensives still solid. He snarled, lunging himself at the male's flanks, his paws out before him. His jaws were wide. Obviously he meant to grab the male on his flank and belly region. Whether he'd be successful... he'd have to see.

Shylee was in a panic. The contractions were hitting her hard now, and she had absolutely no idea what to do. She whined, waiting, hoping, that Kalen knew what to do. She heard his feet pounding above her, and then he tried to enter the den. Her eyes grew wide, and she whipped her head around, aiming a sharp snap on his muzzle. "GET OUT!" She didn't know why she had snapped, but she didn't want him IN the den with her, though she didn't mind if he stayed outside. She smelt another scent though, this one not very familiar, but not at all unwelcoming. She lifted her head, peering out slowly.
"Who's the-" her voice was cut off, and she winced. The pain was bearable now... but she doubted it would stay this way. Taking a quivering deep breath, she moved herself carefully over to the wall, making room for whoever this was. By the scent it was a female, and perhaps she cold help her... she had an odd, sweet smell to her, something that made the female feel slightly more welcome than any other one. Feeling another wave of pain hit her, she closed her eyes, tensing up her muscles as the pain went through her body. She could feel squiggling down in her belly, and the shifted, trying to make herself and the pups more comfortable.

Terror now, as Shylee snapped at him unexpectedly. He retreated with a yelp, panicking inside, his heart picking up the pace even more. How was that even possible? He hadn't thought that his heart could move so fast.
He whimpered, limping in tight circles around the entrance of the den, casting hasty, pleading glances at the Goddess Horo. She would help, right? He couldn't do anything, no matter how much he worried, but she could. Now that he could think about it, it had been stupid of him to try and get into the den. He was smarter than that, wasn't he? Yes, he was.
Pacing... pacing.. pacing... all thoughts of Tye and Kroenen were gone from his mind.

Horo snickered as Kalen rushed out of the den. She cast him an exasperated look, rolling her eyes and waving her tail for him to stay there. "Don't worry, everything's gonna be fine. Silly brute." Then she slipped past him, into the den, humming a happy tune that was oh-so-fitting to the mood.
"Shylee, I'm coming in, I'm going to help you." Not a question, nowhere near asking if she could come in, it was just her. She was going to help. Horo was going to help, yes she was, that was the matter of it.
She lay next to Shylee, not next to her belly though, so she wouldn't get in the way, pressing her side against the old she-wolf's soothingly. Her warm pink tongue drew over Shylee's ear in comfort, and an almost catlike purr rose in her throat. "Relax... you're going to be fine... don't concentrate on the pain, concentrate on the pups you're bringing into the world with every breath you take..." Her voice was velvety soft, soothing.
