Terrible with histories and writing down personalities because I go by feel than by following a strict list of personality points so I'm hoping I could get some help on that. :D there was once I joined a site that required an extensive history and personality and when I started RPing, they kept pointing out so-called inconsistencies in my character's personality >< I hope if anything like that happens, please be kind and not mean, like they were.

On another note, I RP first-person. Is it okay with this site? Would like to know before I start on anything.

Your freeform works are inspiration to many of my feeble attempts, even if I'm light years away from you in writing prowess. Even then, I'm really glad you're back (in Legacy too, yes) because we as 'mortals' get to enjoy more of your masterpieces!...

I'm Kari, mod here and in Legacy (though I'm more of a sleeping staff nowadays) and probably one of those closet fans of your works. I... don't know if you know me before, but I guess it's pretty inconsequential.

The sign-up requirements are probably nothing to you, and RP-ing first-person is okay as long as you don't switch POV often. I must, however, advise that the personality and history be adequately telling of the character because your Pokemon choices ultimately depend on your character. Not going to say much, but much of the plot and Pokemon you meet are going to echo some part of your personality at some point in time.

At the very least, Chapter 00 is completely personalized so what you choose to tell the Author in your sign-up determines a bulk of your journey...

We may have different definitions of hardcore, because this place isn't certainly one (I've seen one!)

You can play your character however you want. The reason why I - yes, me - stressed on the personality and history is because the two go together as a pair. Recently, I may have been a bit critical about characters, but don't worry, no one in the Staff, including me, will judge your character in a critic's point of view, unless you really want to. Because I'm sure you came here to have fun, after all xD

Besides, the worth of your character is not based on what you write. There are different methods for you to express the character to the reader. It could be by small details such as hobbies and repeated actions, or by dialog, which is important in the RPG. Personally, what I hate most are RPers who are too obedient to what they write! Change, transcend - pay attention to the different shades of life! YES I'M FEELING VERY VAGUE RITE NOW.

OF COURSE IT'S NOT OKAY -- yea you can go ahead and RP first person. Anything works...except 2nd person. Yea, don't do 2nd person.

Hey Kari! It's nice seeing you here! And hey, of course I know you! Oh I love a RPG board that places importance on personality and history - but well, I guess I'll try my best. I feel like writing them down feels more like telling than showing, you know? That makes it hard.

And hey Tan! Thanks for the warm welcome; it's greatly appreciated! Like what I wrote to Kari, I'm happy personality and history does play a part in the plot! I don't mind criticism, just not what the site (it was called the Light Within if I recalled right) just insulting my character: "She's a slut! You didn't say she's a slut in your personality write-up!" "Okay, why is she acting like such a bitch here?"

It's hard to swallow such 'criticism'. And well...
