WELCOME.
welcome to rockwood performing arts academy, a brand new roleplay set in hollywood at a school for young performers, namely actors, dancers, singers, models, and comedians. the school has only recently added dorms to the premises, and now the school is accommodating more students than ever. everyone wants to be famous, right? and these high school kids will stop at nothing to claw their way to the top.
what they don't know is that all the drama, cat fights, hookups, and more are being filmed and aired on MTV. how long will it take them to figure out what's going on? when they finally do, how will they react? only you can decide.
we are currently accepting canons only, but make sure you look over everything before you join. we'd rather have a couple of super-active roleplayers than a bunch of good-for-nothing forum game players. you must register with a first, middle, and last name.

NHNB rules- read everything that's possible to read on the site before you make a move to sign up. it will help you understand NHNB`` more and it will save the admins from having to explain things you can find out for yourself.
- as is probably common sense for you at this point, a first, middle, and last name username in all lowercase is required when you register. anyone found with other names will promptly be deleted. if you have found that you've forgotten to register with a middle name, simply pm an admin and we'll take care of it.
- don't spam, obviously. this counts advertising your site in the cbox, your sig, and generally any area besides for the ads section.
- canons work like this: first to you reserve one, then you register, then you post your application. if you try to reverse the order of this in any way, you will have successfully pissed the admins off. you will not be accepted if you haven't reserved your character. that means that someone else can just mosey along and post to reserve the character you wanted. likewise, if two applications for the same character are posted, the person who has reserved first (or reserved, period) gets the spot.
- you are not allowed to post anywhere until you have been accepted. this shouldn't take a long time, so just be patient and an admin will get to it. remember this: 'pretty smiles and battle scars.' if you bother them in the cbox or over AIM, however, it's likely that your application won't be reviewed at all.
- after you have been accepted, you must sign up for everything. this means face claim, sports/activities, a dorm room, etc.
- use correct grammar and spelling at all times in the roleplay. third person, please. we are a semi-literate board (i consider the rankings to go beginner, semi-literate, intermediate, literate, advanced), so we require at least two paragraphs per post. this isn't a lot to ask. we're here to have fun, not to be forced to write 5 paragraphs per post, but at the same time, many people (myself included) find it annoying to roleplay with someone who's only written a couple of sentences.
- we are rated r. these are teenagers away from their parents for the school year, and things are going to happen. i respect if you have a problem with this, but maybe this board just isn't the right place for you.
- all mature topics must be labeled as such, and locked away in the mature forum. the password can be obtained from an admin by anyone wishing to start an r-rated topic.
- you control your character, and your character alone. you weren't tricked by the fake code words above, were you? the real ones are: 'the truth is no tea party.' god-modding sucks, so don't do it.
- the character limit for the moment is four characters per player. in order to make a new character, you must already have at least thirty posts on your current one. if you think you can handle a fifth, contact an admin and we'll consider giving you the green light. for every girl character you play, you MUST have a boy.
- respect is a must out of character. obviously, your characters may have their differences in the roleplay, but once you hit the ooc section, that has to stop. the last thing we need on this site is drama, and if you're found to be causing it, you'll be banned.
- if an admin or mod asks you to do something, you have to. we're not unreasonable around here, and you shouldn't be either. if we tell you to add to something in your app or try to beef up your posts a little in the future, try to do it. if you are rude to an admin (or anyone on the site), you will be banned.
- signatures and avatars can often be helpful for other people to see what your character looks like. so saying, we would love for you to have these, but keep them at a reasonable size. if what you have isn't reasonable, we'll give you a friendly reminder to resize or recreate.
- ripping is not tolerated at all. this means graphics, applications, or posts. if you're found to have taken something from the site, there will be serious consequences.
- last but not least, have fun! that's what roleplaying is all about, right?
