WELCOME.
welcome to rockwood performing arts academy, a brand new roleplay set in hollywood at a school for young performers, namely actors, dancers, singers, models, and comedians. the school has only recently added dorms to the premises, and now the school is accommodating more students than ever. everyone wants to be famous, right? and these high school kids will stop at nothing to claw their way to the top. what they don't know is that all the drama, cat fights, hookups, and more are being filmed and aired on MTV. how long will it take them to figure out what's going on? when they finally do, how will they react? only you can decide.
we are currently accepting canons only, but make sure you look over everything before you join. we'd rather have a couple of super-active roleplayers than a bunch of good-for-nothing forum game players. you must register with a first, middle, and last name.

ice-cream social`` this event takes place the first night of camp at 7 o'clock in the dorm lobby. it's a required event and a way for everyone to get to know each other, or so the activity coordinators say. everyone knows that it's just a way to scope out the queen bees and figure out who you have a crush on... in any case, its sure to a lot of fun!

hallways`` RPAA hardly has hallways like any other high school in the country. on the contrary, its floors are tiled with gold-flecked marble and large teal and white (school colors) stars inscribed with the names of famous alumni and their graduation dates, the school's own walk of fame. on the inner side of the hallways lie the classrooms, each with an elaborate wooden arch, and on the outer side there are floor to ceiling glass windows, tilted at just the right angle so as not to blind you. lockers line the wall space between each classroom, and on each is a plaque with a single "inspirational" celebrity quotation. chances are if you want to get anywhere on campus, you'll have to pass through these hallways at some point.

classrooms`` classrooms at RPAA are split into sections according to subject. floors one and two of the academic building are used as core subject (like math, science, english, etc.) classrooms, while the bledel wing on the eastern side of the third floor is used for all acting classes, the timberlake wing for singing lessons, and the fourth floor, titled 'oprah's floor' due to a generous donation on her part, for everything else. be careful, you wouldn't want to get lost in this place!

lecture hall`` every once and a while guest speakers will be welcomed to the academy and all students will be required to attend one of their talks. however, these lectures aren't usually minded very much, because usually some rather famous person has been invited. the lecture hall holds up to seven hundred people at once, and its cushy teal folding seats each have a wooden fold-down 'desk-like' surface attached to the armrests, so that students may take notes (or pass notes!) during lectures. when there isn't a lecture going on, this room is often used as a study hall space.

cafeteria`` this cafeteria is probably a far cry from the sorts of cafeteria's you've seen before. it's located on the ground floor of the classroom building, and instead of the classic buffet style food service, multiple kiosks from different food chains like starbucks, sushi samba, uno's pizza, tgi fridays, and more are set up in the main room for students to choose from. two large adjacent rooms hold tables and chairs for students to eat at, or, if they're in a rush, they can just take their food on the go.

academy bookstore`` the academy bookstore, located just off of the cafeteria, is the source for all things RPAA, from sweatshirts, notebooks, and textbooks to magazines, gum, and a small amount of frozen food (though you can find more "grocery-like items" in the student center). chances are, everyone wants a baby tee with the name of the most famous performing arts school in the nation on it... all students are bound to come in here at one point, wether its because they need a new binder for a class they've just picked up or because they're just bored and have extra lunch period time to blow off. beware, however, that the prices aren't exactly cheap. well, what do you expect? this is hollywood hills!

lawns`` the lawns here at the academy are in great shape, and students can often be found laying around on them and attempting to tan when there's warm weather and they have a free period. wooden benches are also scattered about the lawns, and students are welcome to study (or do any manner of other things) there as well.

the fountain`` smack-dab in the middle of campus is a huge water fountain, donated by the infamous jolie-pitt family. large knee-high rocks surround the bubbling water, perfect for sitting on, and oak trees spread out even beyond that. the classroom building is just a ways north from the fountain, while the dorms are south. the library, performing arts center, and music school lie to the east, and the parking lot and LA itself are a couple of miles west of campus.

cyrus library`` the cyrus library, donated by everyone's favorite pop princess, miley cyrus, holds more books than you could ever hope to read. here you can find everything from history and reference books to trashy fiction, romance novels, and madonna's latest biography. it also has two large elevators to transport students amongst the three floors of the library, the third of which holds magazines and a small hub of brand new macintosh computers. the librarians are generally friendly, though their ultimate pet peeve is too much noise, so keep your voice down!

simpson amphitheater/performing arts center`` this HUGE amphitheater, donated by both simpson girls shortly after ashlee got her new nose. complete with a lobby, mezzanine, box seats, and all the latest technology available everywhere, this place is like a huge broadway theater, only better. its constantly booked up with all of the students who want to use it for plays, musicals, dance recitals, talent shows, and concerts. students attend everything free, of course, though sometimes the shows are so sold out that parents can't even get tickets... these performances are regarded as social events by hollywood's elite, so celebs, their fans, paparazzi, and most of all, the general public (those who are wealthy enough to afford tickets). it isn't uncommon that talent agents should be in the crowd either... students have been known to be "discovered" directly following a performance here. hey, it happened to scarlett johansson, so it could happen to you, right?

williams music school`` the campus music school offers only the best lessons to its students, regardless of whether they are taking voice, piano, violin, guitar, flute, of any other countless options. these lessons can be scheduled into your normal day and will often get you out of an extra language or pointless study hall. most RPAA students choose to take an instrument, and many play in the chamber ensemble, orchestra, or even in one of the twenty-three independent on-campus bands. chorus, gospel choir, and chamber singers can also be found rehearsing here.

the ground floor/lobby`` a small vestibule leads into the lobby from outside; a swipe of your key is required to get in. metal mailboxes line the walls immediately in front of the entrance, and elevators (and the stairs, if you for some reason feel like taking those) are directly to right of the vestibule. a doorway to the right leads to the lounge, where there is all kinds of furniture and even a ping-pong table and television. travel even further to the left and you'll find a small kitchenette area perfect for midnight snacks. there's a stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee machine, toaster oven, and blender.

the first floor`` the first floor is generally made up of freshman and sophomores, as it is a rather undesirable place to be, though of course the ones that have had success with their careers thus far are bumped up to at least the second floor. rooms on this floor are rather small and are to be shared amongst three people each. the closet space is limited and the roomies must sleep in bunk-beds. every room has its own bathroom, though, and the water pressure in the showers is quite good.

the second floor`` slightly more luxurious than the first floor, the second floor has seventeen doubles and three singles available. each room has its own bathroom and walk in closet, though the pipes usually freeze in the winter. the privelege of these rooms is usually reserved for the semi-famous freshman, the sophomores, and the juniors. a couple of times in the past seniors have been known to frequent the singles, because it is faster to get up here than to take the elevator all the way up to the fourth floor. it tends to be a bit quieter too.

the third floor`` generally regarded as being pretty posh, most third floor rooms have two large walk-in closets, queen beds, bathrooms with actual bathtubs (as opposed to floors one and two), and some even have a view of the infamous hollywood sign. rooms are shared amongst two people and the fire exit is along the right side of the hallway. keep your voices down... the walls are very thin on this floor!

the fourth floor`` by far the best place to live within the dorms, fourth floor rooms are large and spacious, with king sized beds, huge closets with circular racks that spin electronically according to what you've pressed on the remote, and bathrooms have showers and bathtubs. only the best students can get rooms here, and therefore its known as the huge party floor. there isn't a single night of the week when there isn't some crazy stint happening... good thing the rooms get cleaned four times a week, right?

the rooftop`` you aren't technically supposed to be hanging out here on the roof, but students do it all the time anyways. i mean, it's not like the entrances are locked or anything... there's one on the outside of the building, leading to the stairs, and another on the fourth floor. sometimes students throw parties up here, but it's used for an assortment of other reasons. be careful around the edges... it's a long way down.
