I think this place would have a better reputation if members would share more information with eachother. Write ups, how to's etc.

This place is no different from any other 240 site, other than the fact it's a bit smaller (nicoclub, zilvia), which means we tend to all know eachother. When it's like that it's easy for new members, or 'would be' members to be turned away since they might think they'll be left out.

Most people just need to show up to a meet or two and meet up with some of us. I haven't been to a meet in months, which means I don't even know a majority of the new members, but that's usually all it takes for anyone to like this place.

Maybe the write ups wouldn't help the reputation at all, but it couldn't hurt. I know people do shit to their cars on a somewhat regular basis, why not take some pictures and post it up?

I'm going to be swapping my motor in the next few weeks (just sohc to sohc again), then rebuilding my current SOHC for turbo. I intend to post write ups for those processes.

yea nick i hear your side about the write ups. i have done a lot of work in my car and i can easily share the knowledge but i figured when you make a certain thread, if its not active for the longest the thread gets delete due to our limit bandwidth.

but yes that would help a lot for our new members.

It doesn't get deleted as far as I know. The page only shows threads from the last 30 days by default, there's a drop down menu you can change that with. Under where the list of topics are.

I still see posts from when the site first started.

m2c =
This forum is cool. Welcoming people who aren't on the elitist level of some other forums I have seen. Thank you members I have met and members I have yet to meet.

Adm and mods = win. Why? I've met em and they're pretty down to earth folks (though I have met them only once at last yr's bbq) and I like what they do for us, keepin tha spot almost free of whackness. The prices here are affordable for even dying starving college folks who have a kid and wifey wit bills to pay...that would be me. I know I am not much of a regular but Phanatik knows I'm pretty down (still tryin to see if I can make the Pho meet...still tryin) and again the forum is a place for us to make some money or do some parts collectin for projects though my first initial draw to this spot is how easy it would be to meet up (if I lived in the bay...anyone in tha 209 spot?).

I guess to conclude my random rant for tha night ================V

Mods, Adm, members of norcal240sx.com +1 and all random other people who check tha forum, c'mon in and talk wit us, we don't hate-

PS= write ups always a good idea. jus gotta remember to write up and take em pictures.

I think the best thing members and moderators can do in a situation like the one presented above is to remind that person that this forum is a privledge not a right and respect and curtiousness is the way to get peoples attention not bickering and name calling.

dear mods. you guys could chill out a bit on the forsale threads. like giving the the poster a heads up about the rules (who reads rules anyways?), and giving them like a set amount of days til lockage happens.

guys need to chill out on the ethuggin and help each other out

Mike. We aren't e thugs. We tried doing what you just said. People take advantage of our kindness and won't do anything after we ask them to. It's just a slap in the face. By locking their thread we give them a legitimate reason to want to post pics.

Thanks for your concern but we aren't here to e thug.

btw: When you go to the cash me out section, the first thread shown is for sale thread rules. You would think people would scan that over first, but if they don't want to, we can just lock.
