Would Matt Bomer on White Collar make a good Dick Grayson?

This may sound selfish, but I don't see what the big deal with Bomer is. I'd much rather choose a guy like Joseph Gordon Levitt, whose already got the hair, frame and range to play Dick. Who cares that his eyes aren't blue, Christian Bales aren't either.

Bomer is a better actor. In White Collar, Neal Cafferty is smooth and cool. Exactly how I picture Dick Grayson to be. The father-son like relationship that Caferty and Burke has is very close to how I see Bruce and Dick's. Throw in a carnival gypsy past for Grayson akin to Patrick Jane from The Mentalist and I can see a smartest man in the room con-man persona that would make a Nolanesque Dick Grayson character. |

As a follow up, bomer's role as Bryce Larkin in Chuck shows how well he could play Nightwing's athleticism and acrobatic ability.

Yeah, it's a decent choice, definitely better than a lot of others, like when people propose professional wrestlers....
But he is 34 |

Yes, I mentioned him in a post earlier this year (don't remember what we were casting for at the time!
And as far as his age, I would have to agree that although he may be 34, he would very easily pass for an early twenties character. |

I've seen white collar and yea, I'll agree he has some acting chops. I think he looks like a complete douchebag tbh, lol. When he's trying to be all suave, his big stupid grin makes him seem sleazy and conniving imo. I may be in the minority here but I think JGL has a magnetic personality. He blends well in a suit and as I mentioned before, his haircut/frame is naturally tailored for the role of Dick Grayson. If you've seen 500 days of Summer you already know how charming he can be. In real life, Joseph Gordon Levitt loves doing acrobatics as well as performing his own stunts as evidenced in Inception. He's entering the prime of his career and looks young enough to play a Nightwing. Maybe it's just me... but I can't imagine Bomer sporting a leotard. I can't do it!

Sort of off topic but I like to reintroduce my self in strange ways.
Does anyone else think Dakota Fanning would make a great Stephanie Brown I miss Steph. She was great love interest for Tim. She was a nice addition to the Robin legacy. I’m glad it didn’t last long but it was a nice addition. Her Batgirl was great. Steph’s Batgirl was a must read for me. lot’s of fun Oops not really the place for this rant ? Sorry |

hey, good to see you back roy!
Sure, I can see that with Dakota Fanning. I was actually thinking the guy who played "The Master" in series 3 of Doctor Who, John Simm, might make a good Joker! Did you see Steph in the latest Batman, Inc comic? |

Mister Simm can certainly do weird, so I can see that. It's funny, I used to think of the Joker as a rubber faced manic lunatic but since Ledger's portrayal I can just see crazy |

Just my two cents, Bomer is an excellent actor. I think he'd make a great Bruce Wayne. He looks the part more than Bale does...and if I were to cast a Nightwing, or even just a Dick Grayson I'd cast Milo Ventimiglia. He has the look and the hair, plus the acting chops. I hope the next reboot of Bat films, has a Bruce that looks like his comic counter part...heres to hoping..

Mmmm interesting. I thought Matt Bomer (who is gay) was very good in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning & in Time. he is also hot & I cant wait to see him in Magic Mike & to be honest I think he would play a excellent Nightwing. but I would like Lil Chris Hardman. Jared Leto or Taylor Lautner & yes I also think Milo Ventimiglia would play a fantastic Nightwing too.
