The top ten classic rock songs topic by John W. got me wondering what everyone's favourite classic rock and metal bands we're (everyone had some great song choices on their lists)
Here's mine in no order:
1. Kiss
2. Iron Maiden
3. Judas Priest
4. Sweet
5. The Doors
6. The Cult (not sure if this is should go on this list or not but I love these guys)
7. Rush
8. Black Sabbath
9. Cheap Trick
10. Heart
11. Kansas
12. Boston
13. Metallica
14. Slayer
15. America
16. Aerosmith
17. Foreigner
18. Yes
19. Motley Crue
20. Def Lepperd
I tried to keep to just 20 choices. But other's could be longer or shorter I don't care. ;)

My faves:
1 - Van Halen (I am a serious VH-maniac, collecting bootlegs of all sorts).
2 - Led Zepplin (Van Halen Mark 1)
3 - Queen - (Sumptuous guitar rock and awesome vocals)
4 - AC/DC - (Blue collar everyman rock... I'm on the highway to hell!)
5 - Deep Purple - (Unbelievable chops)
6 - Metallica - (The greatest metal band of all time)
7 - Judas Priest - (British METAL!)
8 - Iron Maiden - (MORE British METAL!)
9 - April Wine (She's a roller... a high rolling baby. Guys from my area formed that band)
10 - Rush - (Best avant garde rock EVER)
11 - Triumph (great band with some great songs, some of the WORST production EVER IMHO)
12 - Kiss (Kind of a joke but some good songs and awesome stage shows)
13 - Hendrix
14 - The Who (pretty far down on my list. Some great songs but I was never a huge Who freak)
15 - Montrose - Heavy blues rock that served as a template for Van Halen)
16 - Cream
17 - Black Sabbath (the template for all metal bands)
That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Rage Against the Machine is the only rock band that I still listen to on a regular basis. I also like Rob Zombie, AC/DC, Static X, and Disturbed (they were some of my favorites when I used to listen to rock).

I have so many bands that I like that I'm sure that I probably forgot some. But this is basically the stuff that I listened to a lot during the past few months (except for the stuff that can't be considered rock or metal). I'm not really sure of the order, because that really depends on my mood and that most bands are very different from one another.
