Wait... this con is over a year away and you've already set a first pre-reg deadline, of $25 no less? How much is that at-con price gonna be? $100?!

Yeah, it seems really far off to be even advertising it this aggressively. But I guess you can't plan too much for your first con... *shrug*

Wow, Akron (finally, a con where I don't need a hotel room! Awesome!). I'm definately going to have to think about it... but as of now, too far away to know for sure if I can make it.

Ah well. biggrin.gif

Well to tell you the truth a 25 dollar pre-reg is not bad at all especially for a full 48 hr convention, but I see where you are comming from figuring we are cutting the first date off early. Then again since it is our first year we need to be agressive with promoting that way we get as many people as possible. To answer you about pre-reg price thing though, the cut off for pre-reg is $40. (Not going to be $100. lol)
(if we were charing 100 bucks a registration everyone would be getting free panda treats, a con badge and a case of bawls and then some. haha)

I have been working relentlessly on new ideas for this convention and since we have the whole hotel and they are letting us do w/e it is that we want, the brainstorming power has went into overdrive and we have at least 5-10 events that have never happened at a convention. but.. sorry to say that everyone will have to wait until probably ohayocon 08 to see what these are bash.gif

My thoughts exactly...
Even if pre-reg cuts off at $40, at-con pricing will probably be like $40-50, which, IMO, is ridiculous for a small, first year con in a little hotel in Akron.
Also, being a 48 hour con isn't a big deal. Colossalcon is in the same boat as you (small hotel, though much bigger city) and 42 hours of con....but it's only $30 for the weekend if you pay AT THE CON. Pre reg is even cheaper.
I'm really wondering what you're gonna have to make it worth the extra $15...even the "and gaming" part isn't THAT big of a deal, since most anime cons incorporate gaming in one way or another.

Well, I'd rather see aggressive advertising over lack of planning and such.
Though, I think the price will end up being a big turn off.

I think I may end up going to this, because I won't have to buy a hotel room and such for once(Yay for living in Green!) Though, it will depend on how much money I have left after Ohayocon next year (if I go, haven't decided yet, ohayocon is not getting put above Animepunch and Sugoicon, no, not at all.)

The fact that RBG is running it is a plus in my eyes, of course! Since I'm following Kyo to hell and all already...

Following Kyo to hell seems like a poor decision on many levels, but hey, your call!

I found out I was going when I saw me listed on a flier, so I guess that means I'm going!
