Title: Kid who smashed the controller
DKong - April 25, 2011 02:34 AM (GMT)
So to anyone who was in the game room during the Brawl tourney and witnessed the epic meltdown of the controller smashing kid - did anyone get it on video? It was SUCH a classic moment. Definitely going down in AP history :lolguy:
ssjwiggy - April 25, 2011 04:28 AM (GMT)
Not to be nosey, but I'd like to know what exactly happened to him after he got escorted out by the police. Was he allowed back in, banned from future AP's, etc...
DKong - April 25, 2011 04:46 AM (GMT)
Here's a picture of the controller. I managed to snag this a few minutes after the incident happened. Game Junkie had it on display at their table . Please excuse the quality, though. 2 megapixel phone cam (and no flash) + the lighting in that room = garbage.

I'm also curious as to what happened. I saw him crying on the floor outside of the game room a little while after everything cooled down. Past that, I have no idea what happened.
Mit - April 25, 2011 07:58 AM (GMT)
Yeah I wanna know if he was banned or not (already sent an e-mail actually). My friend was the one who beat him, and it would be good to know for our own safety that he won't be there next year...
Vincent - April 25, 2011 11:08 AM (GMT)
This is what happens when I miss AP. Somehow I prevent these things from happening. Or something. I dont know.
Kimiko - April 25, 2011 11:37 AM (GMT)
I don't think he will be back period.
Am!ty - April 25, 2011 12:15 PM (GMT)
I was playing my match in the tournament, then all i hear is the dude start to rage.. O_O
Akatsuki_Angel - April 25, 2011 02:49 PM (GMT)
i was about to walk into the gameroom with my friend then they escorted him out. i thought maybe he got hit or something cuz he was holding his head. he smashed a controller out of rage? o_____o
GJ-Northstar - April 25, 2011 02:59 PM (GMT)
We had been getting weird vibes from that kid at the booth all weekend. Some of the other GJ guys were trolling him in Naruto to watch him freak out, so it doesn't surprise me that he took it too seriously and flipped out. I guess he really wanted that free pass for next year...
I was told he was escorted out by the police after crying on the floor for a solid half hour, so I wouldn't expect him back.
We also hooked up the kid that beat him with Bawls and hugs :3
GJ-Cornix - April 25, 2011 04:53 PM (GMT)
As for a slightly more full story.
Apparently the kid had been chainthrowing, and when a staffer noticed and told him this was not allowed he replied with something to the effect of "Go eat a dick, I'll do whatever I need to win." ("Go eat a dick" is paraphrasing, the second half is a direct quote.)
The staffer replied that chainthrowing would make him automatically lose the match and that continuing could also cost him game-room priveleges at the least, so he stopped. Then when he lost the rage came out and the controller break happened. Then he cried on the floor for like a half an hour until security could escort him out. I'm not entirely sure what happened to him, you'd have to ask one of the official AP staff, but I do know he wasn't in the game room again.
chibi_reborn - April 25, 2011 07:57 PM (GMT)
Me and my boyfriend were in the hallway towards the game room playing Pokemon Black and sitting down on the poofy couches there when we saw the police walk past. I was like "Uh oh...yea its Saturday XD" cuz usually all the main drama stuff seems to happen on Saturdays for me. My boyfriend was like o...k...wuts going on? and I was like I dunno. My boyfriend bent over and told me that they were going into the game room and I was like...ok thats new. We didnt pay any mind cuz he was in a pokemon battle with his cousin at the time...a few minutes later we heard the screaming and crying and thats when we went to investigate and sat at one of the round tables in the room and yea...thats when we saw him crying and laying on the floor in a fetal position. I was the Kenpachi with his hair down and the sword. My boyfriend was the Bankai Ichigo and his cousin wasnt in cosplay cuz his organization 13 cloaks chain broke. I wanted to hear what happened to him after the police escorted him out cuz we left the area before they escorted him out cuz I was starting to not feel so good.
kagekami - April 25, 2011 10:14 PM (GMT)
Yeah I was sitting at the tables outside when the escorted him out. He kept on shouting for some guy named Dave to help him out and I might of had a that guy moment, but I couldn't resist shouting out "Daves not here man."

:lolguy: I'm sad I missed this part.
Lime - April 25, 2011 11:21 PM (GMT)
Wrong video, du- oh I see what you did there. :o
Anyway, I heard about the incident and saw the dude on the floor in front of the gaming room, but I never knew he got carried out. Man, the things that go on at cons.
Indract - April 26, 2011 12:34 AM (GMT)
I was playing pokemon with a huge group when this all went down right outside the game room. Someone escorted this guy out of the game room. he was already crying at this point and didnt make it past the gameroom doors far and fell almost under a table. He cried for about 45 minutes and we where trying to figure out what happened. All we heard was he lost a tourny, made a scene and then fell outside the gameroom crying. then con staff showed up and 20 minutes later hyatt staff and cops showed up and escorted him down the hall. The rumor i heard was he was not being cooperative and they sprayed him with pepper spray. idk tho
Vincent - April 26, 2011 12:37 AM (GMT)
And no one legitimately got this on video? That's depressing.

This is entirely possible because I was by the Java coffee place down the hallway and the kid was screaming and cursing at the police telling them if that they wanted a hug, go get a furry
FlyingElf - April 26, 2011 08:19 PM (GMT)
He is no longer welcome at AP or AP events. He purposely and deliberately broke the convention's property which is completely unacceptable.
As for what happened after he were escorted by the police, we couldn't post that even if we knew for privacy reasons.
KarateLincoln - April 27, 2011 03:33 AM (GMT)
I'm the person you're referring to! Sorry guys <3
My rage wasn't quite from losing, it was from that chaingrab rule that was not listed anywhere or mentioned prior to the tournament.
It makes me really feel sad that I can't go to any future Anime Punch stuffs, or even Ohayocon since it's at the same venue.
I have no idea who to send it to, but I really really want to send money to pay for the damages and also send an extra controller because I'm that bummed out about it.
Since Saturday, I've dropped out of class, not left my room except for food and restroom, been in a constant state of panic, been sore from the police etc. Just super sadness all around ^^;
Now there's a chance that my parents will send me to a group home for mentally impaired people or something in a few weeks now, which also makes me sad.
If anyone wants to ask me any questions or wants to talk about it, feel free to.

I call bullshit. You've pulled stupid shit at Ohayo and Matsuri, not to the extent of the brilliance you've shown at AP, but stupid shit nonetheless. I've seen what happens when you lose in tournaments or you don't get your way, and I feel bad for their staff for having to put up with your crap.

Considering how this spread, I wouldn't make plans to attend a lot of conventions either. I don't think they'd want to put up with crap like this.

Wait, what? :wtf: Please tell me you're not claiming police brutality. I'll laugh my ass off if you do.

Yep, I've certainly done more than my share of embarrassing shenanigans.
I love attending conventions and I will as often as my budget and parents allow. I went to Colossalcon '11 and there were no problems. A NEW RECORD!?
I'm not claiming police brutality, of course. That's silly. Police do what they have to do. I was really confused and wanted to slow things down, but that's not acceptable in a situation like that, so they had to twist my arm and stuff. It's not like I was cooperating and they knocked me on the ground and kicked me or something. Besides, handcuffs make anyone sore!

* Side Note:
The only thing that ever made my ex's sore when I used handcuffs, was me.
* Side Note 2:
Then again, ours were furry
* wait.... sude note 3...:
were the handcuffs furry...?

No dipshit, you do what they tell you, otherwise they drag you to the ground and/or fry your dumb ass with a tazer. You should consider yourself lucky that didn't happen, or they didn't charge you with resisting arrest.
Pathetic excuse... you make us gamers look bad with your epic stupidity. Now go cry in a corner and beat your head against a wall like you normally do. Maybe after repeated blows to your skull, you'll get some sense knocked into the gaping void you call a braincase.
FlyingElf - July 24, 2011 10:18 PM (GMT)
Now now, there is no need to be rude. Plus at this point, is it even really a relevant point anymore?
Boss - July 30, 2011 03:19 AM (GMT)
Just saw that he got banned from Matsuricon. So that's two that we know of.
Hope you didn't have plans that weekend.

I was agreeing with you o_o
When cops tell you to do something, you do it. Duh. I just didn't so I faced the consequences.
I'm not making any excuses, am I? D:
I'm just hoping to have this out in the open so that people can understand how horribly I fucked up and hopefully forgive me, yknow?
Also, I can't really recall doing anything outrageous at other anime convention tournaments as a result of losing. I'm very forgetful, though, so please let me know of any incidents you remember!
Boss - July 31, 2011 12:46 AM (GMT)
Let's see from what I've observed, shall we?
You've attempted to change tournament rules for your benefit.
You whine when you don't get your way.
You've ran your mouth with rather racist comments during matches, and I've heard you do that firsthand before you got smeared in the match I played. You pull that crap in the game rooms too.
If the organizer tells you to do something, you don't do it (like reporting wins). You were yellowcarded for that at Ohayo, lost your next match, and bitched out the guy running it saying that it threw you off. He later redcarded your ass for that.
Interfered in other tournaments.
You've slammed controllers in disgust before.
You also were set up in Matsuri's brawl tournament. Your opponents kept you in to the final to watch you get your heart ripped. Did you really think you had a chance in that one? Christ, a quadruple amputee would've eliminated you in the first round.
Should I stop now, or continue to embarrass you further?

Sounds like an excuse to me. And a pathetic one at that.
KarateLincoln - August 6, 2011 04:00 AM (GMT)
That's not an excuse, just me telling you WHY I raged...
An excuse would be if I was trying to make it seem like it was alright.
Also, I don't remember any of that stuff lol. I'm not saying it didn't happen, because knowing me, it did. I have a bad memory.
Saying a quadruple amputee would beat me hurts though. It's okay though. I don't have hard feelings towards you.

You really are an oblivious dipshit aren't you?
You completely overlooked what I posted about Matsuri's Brawl tournament. Your opponents threw matches INTENTIONALLY to keep you in, only to promptly stomp you in the final. Those guys could've easily ended your hopes within mere moments, and everybody in the room knew it was happening, except for you.
That wasn't skill that got you to the final. Not by a longshot. But then again, you have shit for memory, so you can feign ignorance. Sounds like another excuse.
Quit while you're behind son. You're only making yourself look bad, and every post you make on this subject reinforces that.

Drop it or take it to a private conversation.
Nothing productive or useful has been posted and unless something is getting done, further debate is pointless.
Basically there are far cooler and better things to discuss than a 4 month old issue that apparently 2 people still care about...1 of them because he was involved.
