Here you can keep up to date with your recent anime-related purchases so that you can do things like go, "Oh cool." Or, "You got that?! Awesome! Can I borrow it?"

Anyway. I just got the complete series of G-Gundam on DVD, and a Principality of Zeon flag to hang in my room.

I want to purchase mobile suit gundam at acen so I can watch it, but Michael says I should just borrow his.
I haven't seen it but I think it's next on my watch list.

Last anime I bought was Otaku no Video, and it was great.

kagekami - May 13, 2010 05:49 PM (GMT)
The last thing I bought was the Nana volume 3 box set. I'm debating on now if I want to shell out the cash for the Dragon Ball Kai blu-ray set next week or not.

Theres a store I go to that sells new and used anime for very cheap so I pretty much buy any complete set he has thats cheap whether it be good or bad. My most recent purchases was 6 out of 10 volumes of Gundam Wing (bought it for the nostalgia lol), Reign: The Conqueror (very hard for me to get into this anime), And all 3 volumes of Yukikaze. I also just bought a OVA called Voices of a Distant Star (it was pretty good I think).

jenni - May 20, 2010 02:17 AM (GMT)
Voices of a Distant Star was sad. Sometimes I go to Buybacks in Columbus. I bought Eva for like $35 there once.

jenni - May 20, 2010 02:17 AM (GMT)
Sad as in depressing not sad as in terrible. I enjoyed it.

LaVache - May 20, 2010 02:29 AM (GMT)
Oh hell yes!! I love it when people rep Voices of a Distant Star. It was made by one guy in his basement after he quit his job to do something that he loved and then scored by his friend. There is even the original audio track on the DvD where he voiced the characters with his wife. The audio track is sub-studio quality, but it's heartfelt and definitely worth the re-watch to check it out.

Yeah Voices of a Distant Star was a very sad OVA but I really did like it. I actually was going through my collection again today and decided to pop it back in. BTW the store I go to is Video Games and Music Exchange on Schrock Rd and Smokey Row both in Columbus. The guy has really good deals on DVD's he actually just had a sale where all used DVD's were 99 cents up to 10. Least to say I geeked out in his anime section lol. Hows Buybacks selection of anime and there prices? I havnt been there in about 3 or 4 years lol.

jenni - May 20, 2010 10:34 PM (GMT)
Buybacks has a weirdly good selection. Not amazingly cheap prices, but definitely decent prices. And everything is in pretty good shape.
The anime I remember seeing there was Eva, Grave of the fireflies, Paprika,Robotech. There was a ton of anime, but that's all I remember seeing. They had a pretty wide range of stuff. It's been a few months since I visited there though.

kagekami - May 22, 2010 05:48 AM (GMT)
The buybacks on campus? I pick most of my stuff off of Amazon, since I seem to find a lot of good prices for anime. Also everyone should check out half priced books for anime they sometimes do have good selection the one off of Lane and North Star has some decent stuff for a good price.

yeah the one near campus

Descent900 - May 23, 2010 10:11 PM (GMT)
see I need to go to campus more often lol. I live near Worthington so a lot of the video stores around here seems to not have much selection of anime but they almost always say their campus locations have better selection. This applied to Play it (store in Lewis Center). They had a decent selection and then randomly sent ALL their anime to their campus location I think.

Of course. It will be glorious!
We plan to have me pull my sword out of my maid of honor, and then duel my groom (Michael?). He'll be dressed as Dios. It'll be fucking sweet. Also, we'll play absolute destiny apocalypse :D
Plus much more. There'll be rose petals everywhere.
