After about five years of Tae Kwon Doe, as a Korean martial art, I have been curently going to a Chinese martial arts school.

Shaolin Kung Fu, Chinese Kickboxing are what I take at the school.

I'm thinking of taking Tai Chi and/or Wushu there.

Do martial arts play a role in anyone else's life?

Judo is something to keep me from gaining the frosh 15, but I do have an interest in studying the different forms of martial arts. I mean, from my point of view, being a martial artist is better than being a sniper, since it takes more skill to learn a martial arts form than to point and click.

It would take a little more than that, I would figure. Having to take in patience, wind direction, a steady hand, etcetera...Ah well, can't give an educated thought on it since I only know sniping through Call of Duty 4. lol

Anyway...I don't really take any martial arts, but I do try to check out what I can if I find one interesting to me. Recently, I gave a slight look into (by that I mean wiki-ing) this one called Capoeira. Not sure how it is pronounced, but from what I did read, not sure if it can really be classified as a form of martial arts. Or, rather, I ended up confused as to if it was or not. tongue.gif

On that same page, I noticed a few I hadn't heard of near a list of other martial arts, but the names sounded interesting enough for me to want to view those pages. I was too lazy to do so, and it was late at night anyway; I dozed off.

Ah, capoeira. Lol yeah, it is a martial art. Brazilian slaves disguised it as a dance to keep their masters from prohibiting them from using it, then practiced it to defend themselves.

(Not sure whether or not they used it to escape, but either way it was a way from them to practice self defense under the noses of their masters.)

Anyway, I like Brazilian martial arts as much as the next guy, but I'm more into Wushu. Capoeira is fun to watch though.

I took Tae-Kwon-Do for like four or five years and would occasionally help out my Teacher during highschool. I'm just not into it anymore. It's still cool as hell, tho.
