The thing that hooked me on SC was the map editor. It just made so many fun maps to play aside form the melee ones. It helped out even more when I began to make my own as well, though back then my screen name was Omega12. Yeah I know, I am very imaginative when it comes to making screen names...
Anyway, the best part about this was I slowly became rather skilled at making Madness maps. And trust me, such a simple game is NOT easy to make. The amount of balance work involved is just ugh... Well, anyway, turns out I can back up this claim. I made a madness map that people actually played! By that I mean I would see my map on the list of custom games made by people I didnt know. Its just so awesome to see that.
Anyway, out of randomness, and to partly scare some of the people who dont know about SC, here is the list of units for each race.
Terran: SCV, Marine, Firebat, Ghost, Medic, Vulture, Siege Tank, Goliath, Wraith, Science Vessel, Battlecruiser, Valkyrie, Dropship, Nuke (if you really count this as a unit...), Spider Mind (Again if you count it)
Zerg: Drone, Zergling, Hydralisk, Ultralisk, Mutalisk, Overlord, Lurker, Infested Terran, Queen, Broodling, Defiler, Guardian, Devourer, Scourge
Protoss: Probe, Zealot, Dragoon, High Templar, Archon, Dark Templar, Dark Archon, Reaver, Scarab(If you count it), Dropship, Observer, Scout, Carrier, Intercepter(If you count it), Arbiter, Corsair
I think thats everything. I feel as if I am forgetting some obvious unit for each one...Oh well, it was only off the top of my head anyway. Yeah...I have played a lot of SC over the years, but hey its been out for like 10 years. Plus I tend to remember random crap for long lengths of time...
Oh and a Marine costs 50 minerals, takes 40 seconds to make, has a default attack of 6, with three upgrades it gets 9, default armor of 0 with upgrades to 3, 40 HP and a range upgrade along with stim packs. I like Marines! So what!
