Title: Indirect Advertising

Ds14 - February 24, 2007 03:56 PM (GMT)
I'd like to formally announce my ideas for advertising and/or getting the word out.

In the join form, for those of you who haven't read this in "State of the Site", I suggest we put a line in that asks where someone was referred from or what site. It'd help people know where to advertise.

Then I think for every referral, someone should get an item like a smoke bomb or ninja wire. Nothing huge, just enough to show appreciation. What do you guys think?

Hmmm, I say that's a wonderful idea, but we need the admins to give something like that some approval.

I am considering Spambotting Gaia, but I dunno. Gaia people are kinda...unwanted lol. They could prolly spambot the forum back or something outrageous cuz they all are assholes.

But meh...I dunno...advertising is usually unwanted in most forums...

I would like to keep spamming to a minimum as it will prevent other people from just spamming this site (at the very least will reduce it.) My personal thoughts are, like DS said, to ask people where and how they found out about this, but instead ask the people who are a part of that community to tell their friends who may be interested. This will likely get around quicker than just advertising, people might just ignore ads, but they'll be more likely to listen when it's someone they know or talk to.

Which is how DS got me to join and how I got Kazuma to join.
