Who here is really under 13? If you are, you're technically not old enough to be reading the Naruto manga. At least not by American standards. It's not like when I type fu*k, people think I'm saying fulk. Come on, now? As long as it's not graphic sex that nobody would enjoy or random cursing for no reason, what's wrong?

What do you guys think about the over-childitizing of stuff?

Do yourself a favor and read the Terms of Use for using this board. You will see that most of the rules for the board really come from the ToS everyone agrees to once you register at the site. OK, so everyone should be over 13 around here. Now the next rating would be R, which is being over 17. If we go by TV we have of course TV-14, which is what Adult Swim is pretty much. I dont think many people areound here would complain if we held ourselves to that standard.

I mean just look at the South Park movie. They hit it exactly. As long as you have no "bad" words, you can have pretty much as much violence as you want. Now that is within reason of course, I dont want to go into details, but I think you can figure it out. As an example, the new LotR movies are all PG-13.

As far as sex is involved, as long as you imply it well enough, you can still get a PG-13 rating. The way to imply it would be only if you knew exactly what the true intent was, you would understand it. As well as having plenty of other things that could be happening instead.

Really, go look at the ratings of some movies you own. The ratings might surprise you as to what they are. I mean Monty Python and the Holy Grail is PG.

Omega is correct. Also we want to try and accomodate any and all that want to rp naruto. So keep it clean. I've already had to warn in that post. I don't want to have to do it again.

Well to be honest I was sort of commenting on how you were both being a bit sensative. Now, I perfer to work on a case by case for what is alright and not, but I thought mentioning what PG-13 is exactly would be good. I really dont want this to turn into some big thing, so I doubt I will post on this again. I said what I wanted to and what I meant by it. Oh and dont take any offence to this, I just like explaining things. Even if I know you already know what it means, I just cant help it.

Sorry to revive a dead topic, but...

If you're in character, what's wrong with cursing?

And if you're out of character, is it really such a big deal? Again, this isn't a movie, we're not restricted to PG-13 and R. With the standards set on literacy and ability to make a decent character, I doubt anyone under 12 would join this/be able to. And most 13 year olds have heard their fair share of supposed curse words.

Remember, obscenity is defined by a community standard. Nobody seems to take offense to it, and if they say they do, then take action.

That's my opinion.

Okay then, here's my action: I'd prefer to rp where there's minimal cursing. It's bad enough at my school as it is, and there have been times where my younger siblings have looked over my shoulder whilst rping and see cursing from other members.

Also, just because a PG-13 movie has cursing doesn't mean that Role-playing boards need cursing. If you don't like the rules on cursing, I haven't seen any rules that say you have to stay here.

Suggestion: you could try making up words for cursing. I for one am a fan of saying "squiddlyspooch." I'm pretty sure that if you're imaginative enough, people would know you're angry/stressed without being offended.

Point taken, but I really disagree.
