The Infested Lake

As Filrion paddled into the lake, a ripple disturbed the surface of the water, not too far away. Filrion paddled away from it, but the ripple seemed to keep getting closer, and closer. Filrion could see a pike's head from under the clear water...

[Fanfarl]

the pike swam under the boat and swam away. as Filrion got into deeper and deerper water he encountered more pike,but they all just passed by him. they all seemed to be headed in the same direction.......

[Filrion]

Filrion, although curious about the pike, paddled forward, hoping to reach the island before anything else happened. Suddenly, a much larger ripple formed near the pike. A deepcoiler's head broke the surface...

[Fanfarl]

and then filrion heared a splash behind him. he turned;it was another deepcoiler. deepcoiler's heads poped up in the swarming mass of pike. Filrion had paddeled into a feeding frenzy. pike and deepcouilers alike bit and fough top get at a large dead deepcoilers carcass. they attacked each other shedding more blood and making them attack each other .....

Hoping to escape, Filrion paddled furiously, not realizing that his boat had snagged on the carcass, which was now trailing behing him, continuing to attract the fish. A small deepcoiler reared its head, and bit at Filrion, who cleaved its head off with his sword. Picking up the head, he threw it far away. Some of the pike, and deepcoiler chased after it, allowing Filrion to paddle closer to the island...

more deepcoilers chased after filrions boat. as he slayed another one with his sword a pike lept out of the water and plunged him into the lake......

Sputtering, Filrion felt himself sinking from the weight of the chain mail. Suddenly, Inspiration struck. She swooped down, plucking Filrion out of the water. The eagle, a daughter of Migraw, flew high above the lake...

when she noticed she had a struggling squirel instead of a pike Inspiration let out a caw of surprize. when she had landed and deposited Filrion on the beach of isle marl she questioned him."whatcha doin' in da beach, awk' my bonny squirrl.ya robbed my ov my supper."

"Quite sorry," apologized Filrion, "I was trying to get to Isle Marl, to vist Migraw, but I stumbled on a feeding frenzy. If you hurry, you will still be able to catch some food" Filrion headed up the beach, and began climbing a set of stairs hewn into the rock wall... At the store, he bought an Endless Quiver of Arrows....

as he was leaving the small shop a large black cloaked person stepped up to him. filrion couldend tell what it was because their face was covered by a hood. as filrion was walking past he saw the glint of a knife that was being plunged towards him......

Swiveling around, he whipped out his sword, pointing it at the stranger's throat. Everyone was out to get him, today, it seemed. The stranger seemed undisturbed, and slid the knife back into its sheath. However, behing his back, he was slowly drawing...

a torch. he lit it with a flick of his paw and threw it at filrion. ducking to the ground the stranger kicked filrion in the legs,knocking him over. he grabbed filrion by the throat." woulden't mess with me." he said,in a voice barley over a whisper."my name's Dennis,and I've been hired to exterminate you."

"I don't think so," said Filrion, kicking Dennis in the scut, and leaping up. He drew his knife as well, and entered a battle position. Dennis, very sore, pulled out a battle axe, and attacked, swinging up and down. Filrion defended with a needle shower attack...

dennis rolled out of the way which caused his hood to fall off reaveling that he was a large Ferret. he swung his battle axe in a circle going faster and faster thenquickly slammed it at filrion.....

Filrion blcoked the spinning blade with his sword, and lobbed his knife at the ferret's head. He swung his blade in an arc, cutting downwards...
