Diturbingly quiet it was. slowly a band of five rats were circling in on Rika.they trew their swords and stepped onto the path.with three vermin in front and two in back Rika had nowhere to run. "drop your weapons." demanded the head of the vermin party....

Rika took out her bow and fired a small volley of arrows at the vermin in front of her...

two vermin fell to the onslaught. the vermin behind her jumped at her and landed on her back,pulling her to the ground. the leader,who was a rat, poited his sword at her throat."gimme all yer florins." he said roughly...

Rika rolled out of the way took out her claymore and pointed it at the vermin....

he just laughed. he had two other other vermin to Rika's one. they surrounded her. pointing their sword points in on her they lunged simoutaneously....

Rika jumped up bounced of a vermin's sword, did a backfilp and landed behind one of the vermin then slashed with her claymore...

the vermin fell to the ground dead. the two remaining vermin rushed to the side of the road. assuming they were fleeing Rika relaxed slightly. she was suprised when out of the trees at the side of the road they grabbed to enourmus pikes. standing shoulder to shoulder they charged,the wicked blades of their pikes gleaming in the setting sun.........

the arrows missed the quikly charging vermin. as rika fell down from her jump she was just inches away from a pike point." I don't want to have to kill you." said the Rat "JUST HAND OVER YOUR FLORINS AND WEAPONS!" he contiued in a calmer voice "otherwise I will kill you"....

Drawing their sheathed swords the vermin circled in." your the one whos going tho be full of holes missie." the rat said sternly. "you shoulden't of messed with us." the rat kicked the broken tip of the pike at rika causing her to put up her hands to protect her face. he slashed at her unprotected body....

Rika quickly blocked the blow with her claymore, kicked hime in the face and then slashed at the vermin with her claymore...

the vermin bowled over with the force of the kick and was sent to the dark forest by the sword blow. the one remaining vermin fled leaving a purse full of 200 florins on the ground.....

Wiping the sweat of her forhead from battle she rested a bit. Later Rika bent down and picked up the purse. she then continued down the darkening forest path....
