Excuse the dodgy grammer in the History section but it's hard to keep the gender a secret XD
Player Name: Katie
Preferred Method of Contacting: Email, PM, IM :]
How did you find Meliora? I helped make it :3
Other Characters:Calixto (I am abanoning Keres >.>)
Name: Alameth, Al, Ala
Age: Very old. Even it's uncertain of its true age but it must be over 500 years old.
Gender: It's hard to tell XD
Race: Demon or elf. Again, it probably knows but no one else can see through the layers!
Sexual Orientation: It isn't fussy
Follower of: Time
Occupation: Mage of Time
Personality: Loyal isn't exactley the right word for Alameth but the creature is not a betrayer. It might not stay by your side forever but it wouldn't do anything to cross you or to hurt you if you were once it's master or friend. For someone with no visible face, it is extremley good at reading others expressions and often uses this to it's advantage when talking to people. This is made ever more useful by the fact that no one can see it's expression and thus can't judge emotion through anything but voice. When danger is afoot, Alameth is more likely to stand ground rather then fight or run as the clothing restricts it's movements rather efficiently. This isn't to say Alameth is lacking in fighting ability as it applies it's unique way of twirling around on the spot with it's knives. It's not very dangerous, granted, but this tactic is very worrying to watch as vast quantities of purple fabric and feather swirl in a curve around the demon.
In it's own way, Alameth is very introverted. It may express feelings in great depth to anyone nearby but these will often be lies to hide true feelings. Layers of the mind cover it much like layers of fabric cover it's body; it takes a lot of layers to be removed before you get down to the actual creature behind it all.
Though often wary at first meet and perhaps even rude or spiteful, Alameth can make a valuable if not a little strange ally. Glad to assist in any way it can, it will help a friend to the end. However, anyone who gets on it's bad side, either by harming it or it's close friends will find a wrathful creature rather then a calm one and it will be quick to follow behind you where ever you go with those empty eyes and china face.
Children are probably Alameth's weakness and anyone holding a child to mercy will have Alameth obeying every word. It hates to see children in pain and will often help urchins and such in the streets by scattering any coins it happens to have at the time. If it has no such thing (income varies by what it can pilfer!) it will leave flowers. Though of little use, it's almost a way of saying 'I'll be back with more'. The children's reaction is usually less then positive with such a strange, menacing creature but once coin is dropped, they usually forget.
Alameth has little moral objection to theft and violence though it will only partake in the latter if required. It hunts for it's food so that is not a problem, but it's fine clothes have been aquired through stealing money throughout it's long life. However, it would never steal from a child or from someone it knows to have a family to support (unless they are rich and have more money then they need). In a way, it works as a kind of child's Robin Hood though much more sinister to those who don't know what it is.
Appearance: {See signature for play-by ;D}
Alameth immediate appreance is one of purple. It likes purple it seems as purple adorns every inch of it's body. There is not a trace of it's true skin underneathe all of the layers of clothing and finery, perhaps the only bit of it unguarded are it's eyes. Now, I say it as it is extremley hard to put a gender to this creature. It is about 5"6' in height which could be either gender and speak in a coarse voice that could, again, either belong to man or woman.
It's hair is hidden under a large headdress made of feathers and silk, varying in colour from purple to white. There are highlights of gold among this and these hide any hair completley. A white china mask covers it's facial features, everything covered in perfection, rose lips and a soft, white nose. Purple patterns run around both of the mask's eyes and down the right cheek in an elegant flourish. However, through the eye holes of the mask, a pair of cold, blank eyes look out at the world. They are a very light purple in colour (a natural colour in humans, would you beleive, the lightest natural colour) and seem to be used as nothing more then a tool for seeing where it is going. On days in summer when flowers are common, these beauties can often be seen fresh plucked in the crown of the headdres, though again and perhaps more creepily, can still be seen several days later and wilting.
Feathers, silk and soft fabrics cover most of it's body, fine gloves covering it's land then these in turn covered by long, dense sleeves which hide all trace of the delicate digits (that seema little bit too long to be in proportion). Feathers run down the shoulders and back and the outfit ends in a purple skirt around the feet. Odds and ends of gold, similar to those in the headdress apear around the outfit and these glimmer in the light as Alameth moves. In some places about it's person, it also has little clumps of bells. This allows a rather high pitched jingled sound as steps are taken but does prevent any stealthy movement, sacrificing hiding for flashyness. Flowers sometimes appear around the robes as well, tucked into gold bands or straps of silk or feathers and these are treated in a similar way to the hat flowers.
It takes a lot of effort to move such large amounts of material and thus Alameth is physically quite able, although it's movement is greatly restricted by the clothes it wears.
Weaponry: Due to the times of Meliora requiring at least a little protection, Alameth carries a pair of small knives. They are without a defined handle and about six inches long, maybe slightly less. The blade is folded steel and carved with marks that perhaps only Alameth understands. Alameth carries them in a specially designed sheaths on the inside of it's sleeves and, due to the sleeves enourmous size, they can be drawn quickly and easily.
Armoury: Armour, to Alameth, is something to be used but only where it is needed. Underneath the robes that cover it's chest, a small breastplate, just wide enough to reach form armpit to armpit protects the vitals there. The stomach is unprotected as is most of the rest though there may be some armour type qualities to all of the robes due to their many layers. Arrows and swords would get through but they'd do less damage.
History: Alameth was born a long time ago and not in Meliora itself. A neighbouring kingdom gave birth to this creature and, no matter which race or kind it was, it lived happily there.
However, it's homeland was soon subjected to a military Coup against the reigning government and king, creating turmoil and civil war across the nation. Now, Alameth's family were not stupid and they eventually sided with the army as they commanded almost all the force of the country. Eventually things became less war-like and more organised as the Generals took control of the populace and it's products.
Conditions were harsh and there was little understanding for difference of those that were out of line. People were killed or people disappeared and this soon became a fact of life rather then something people feared. Alameth's family moved house at this stage and went to live near the borders of Meliora.
The day that changed Alameth's life, a travellers sought refuge at their house. It was nothing out of the ordinary; their house was the only one for a few miles and people often caught themselves around this area at nightfall. Only this traveller was no traveller at all. He'd started his trip across the country from the capital and his job was to weed out any remaining supporters of the king. As the traveller sat with Alameth's father and shared ale, Father's lips began to loose and he began to say how much better it had been under the king. Alameth's mother did her best to quiet him but to little avail. The traveller said nothing and eventually they retired to bed, Alameth deep in thought.
Alameth awoke to flames and quickly climbed out of the window to the bedroom, heart beating triple it's usual clammer. The house burnt down that night with Father and Mother inside and Alameth could have done nothing to help them.
It wasn't all tragedy as it was a long time ago and Alameth moved on after a 100 years or so, taking on Meliora.
The place bothered Alameth somewhat but it was much more calm then the previous life in a military controlled country. Al wandered for a good many years, completley the average citizen though carrying an accent.
Eventually it lost the accent from that country now so far away. Rejection due to the accent and foreign origins had seen Al move away from most other life now and the dark forest became it's home for a time. It was here that Al seemed to lose focus and identity over long years of eating what was hunted fresh and raw and generally living like a beast.
Reintroduced to the world of people by a lone elf that dared wander the woods, Al now seeks to find a meaning in a life that has had no direction for a long, long time.
Becoming a mage was probably the first step in this and enjoyment stems from the simply manipulation of the element of Time.
Other: As a mage, Al's power stems from time itself. Al isn't that skilled in the field currentley and can gently push time to become slower or faster though the power to stop it completley has yet to be gained for anything larger or heavier then a feather on the breeze.
I'm sure through it's various journies through Meliora, Alameth's gender and actually appearance will be revealed whether voulentarily or against it's will! (I shan't think it'd be too happy about this though!) When such a point occurs, appearance of it's face and it's actual gender will be clarified in this profile.
