CHARACTER SHEET

Here is the MELIORAN CHARACTER SHEET. And this is Doc! While you are free to spiffy it with fancy fonts and texts and whatnot all you'd like, please be precise and detailed when it comes to creating your characters, as it is them that will be born into our world (please not literally, that is tmi), and we would love to know what they are like. (unless they are terribly people, in which case it'll just be me)

Now here's how it works, you fill out the very nifty sheet below here (Mally does excellent work), and depending on what type of character you are playing, also posted, is a bunch of copy/paste codes. Put the ones that apply to your character in the marked section below, and post your sheet. And an admin (probably not me) will look over it accordingly.



Name: This is how we would identify your character. (Doc I swear to god, don't taint this) (Naming anybody 'MC Hammer' will get you instantly accepted, then banned whenever Mally notices)
Age: This is how old your character is, keep in mind just what race your character is. A two hundred year old human bears explanation; a two hundred year old elf generally does not.
Gender: Does it have boy parts, or girl parts? (BOTH.)
Race: This is what race your character is. Refer to the Essential Reads for more information
Sexual Orientation: Does your character prefer girls, or boys? (Judging by previous trends, 'both' is usually the correct answer', though 'crooked' is always funny)
Follower of: What god does he/she follow, if any?
Occupation: Does he/she have a job? What is it?

Personality:

This is the part where you may explain how your character eats, sleeps, drinks, acts around other people. Is she nice, sweet, and bubbly? Is he evil, sick, and twisted? Is he that local imbecile dancing on the streets like a lunatic? (If he has godlike powers, judging by our population, probably) This is where you would put it, and the more accurately you fill this out, the better idea we have of who your character is.

Appearance:

This is the place where you may describe your character. Simply posting a picture is not enough. Give us some vivid details.. (AND BY VIVID DO NOT MEAN OBSCENE THINGS.) (she's just kidding, obscene is good) on what your character looks like. Does he have bright green eyes that seem to poison your soul? Is she petite, small, kinda like a bunny rabbit? This is up to you to decide. Please describe them thoroughly, or we might make some assumptions on their appearance.. (And you wouldn't want your big beefy barbarian to be turned into a blond-headed weak skinny pretty boy now do you?) (for all that calixto is fucking hilarious)

Weaponry:

This is where you may describe what your character uses to defend itself if s/he has any. If you prefer, you MAY include magic, though physical protection is generally a good idea.

Strengths

Ah, everyone's favorite part. This is where you tell us what skills and affinities your character has. Is s/he a little stronger then the average wo/man? Does your scholar know several language? Is s/he a crafter of some sort? Is he a mentally stable person? (Is s/he Jesus?) Here is where you define those little things that make your character shine. *Magic does NOT fall under this category. Refer to second post*

Weaknesses

And here is where we put those little flaws that every character has. And although I know you don't want to admit them, your character MUST have them. Whether it be mental, physical, emotional.. whatever the case may be, put them here. Does he have a fear of bunnies? Or crazy men? (terrible idea, Meliora is full of crazies) Are they very jealous? Do they have a handicap, like being crippled? (being a Crip is not a handicap, there aren't a lot of Bloods around) Are they physically weak? Or not so smart? Define them here. And remember: they must balance your strengths.
Seriously speaking now, I disagree with the very last bit, I personally don't think it has to be a perfect balance. You can skew your character either way as far as I'm concerned (though any reason as to why you would want a weak one is completely irrational to me), but making a Mary-Sue or an Anti-Sue is right out. For me, the perfect character is one who is, generally speaking, better than average, but has a few flaws to balance it out. Though if your character is enough of a badass, and has the depth (both psychologically and historically, because I love reading 5 pages of history) to back it up, I will accept it.

History:

Here is where you explain how your character came to be. Explain to us how your character got to be, the way they are. Who knows? Your history may get you more intertwined with Meliora then you think.
This is unimaginably important to me. This is make-or-break-a-character for me. And if you go to the trouble of pre-arranging ties, whether casual or otherwise, with other people's characters, or guilds, or even NPCs, I will know you have read at least some of the Canon, or some of the character sheets, and I (and no doubt Mally and Katie) will love you for it.

RP Post Sample: Post a sample of your roleplaying here. It can be from anywhere, or it could be a IC post from your character. Up to you.
This is optional if this is your third (or more) character, because by that point we'll know for a certainty that you can actually write.


Player Name: What you will go by. (For example, I'm Doc.)
Other Characters you Play: The list of characters that you play (If your list covers two lines, you may either want to give your characters shorter names (Protip: 5 words? Too much.), or get rid of some of your characters.
Contact Information: How we may contact you I.e. MSN, PM, email, whatever.
Where did you hear us from: Where DID you find us? So we can applaud them for their good sense in sending you here.

FOR ATHANHAER/DEITY MAGES

Magic: BEFORE YOU PUT THIS IN YOUR APPLICATION: PLEASE READ THE RULES OF MAGIC AND RELIGION as Meliora works magic SIGNIFICANTLY differently then most fantasy based sites. This isn't even a question of mana magic or Vancian magic, trust me this is some crazy shit)

Degree of study: Before being given magic, most mages undergo a considerable degree of study before they're given the right to cast magic.

FOR PRIESTS
(NOT AVAILABLE FOR EARTH PRIESTS.. well.. you COULD be an earth priest, but prepare for hell.) Oh hell yes, please do, I will drive him INSANE.

Rank: How high is your priest on the totem pole? (metaphorically, we're not pagan barbarians) Consult your god for more information on this.

Role: Describe what he/she does to service their god.

FOR MILITARY.
*Whoever is in charge of military stuff, step in on this please* (Will do)

Nation: What nation's military are you in? Are you a nationless dog-of-war, wandering around joining up wherever the fighting is short and pays well?
Branch: What branch of the military are you in? Are you a battlemage? Artilleryman? Cavalry? Infantry? Navy?
Rank: What rank are you? Private? why would you even do this NCO? Officer? GENERAL?
Station: Where is your character stationed? A city? Forward outpost? God forbid, THE FRONT LINES?
Honors: Has your character won any honors? Is he part of an elite unit? Is he a Champion of any form? (not like Men's Diving Champion, like being selected as The Best at some martial skill like swordfighting, pistolry, or just an all-round badass) Does he have any sweet trophies? (like scalps, or a dragon skull, not like a gold medal in basketball) Any medals? (don't give me any 'Purple Heart' bullshit, in Meliora you are not rewarded for being injured, only for ripping balls off with your bare hands)
