She is fairly easy to hold a conversation with, and if she leans toward either extreme of introverted or extroverted it is extroverted. Perhaps due to her vampric nature, she gets lonely very easily, needing to constantly be around people. She will rarely go anywhere without at least Lucius with her, and frequently takes Victoria and a few other members of her enterouge as well. She is very manipulative, a combination of her natural personality and her vampiric ability.Unlike many vampires, Emma is still a very sensual creature. This is in part due to the fact that she was embraced during her teenage years, and still has the sexual drive of a vampire. Unlike Coven vampires in Meliora, or perhaps due to some genetic quirk or the lengthy span of years she has lived, Emma is infertile and doesn't need to concern herself with conception. The years have eroded away any predilection for gender, age, or race when it comes to sex, making her truly pansexual. Though Victoria is by far her longest lover, Emma is not monogamous and engages in acts of affection with many of her Menagerie.Emma is driven, at least enough to have taken Adan and assist Heinrich in taking over Meliora with vamprism. Her own personal goals don't extend beyond ruling Adan - she doesn't want to distract herself too much with the concerns of ruling. Emma is happy with the size of her Menagerie, and while she may still add to its size if she finds interesting enough creatures, she doesn't wish to make it too large. Even numbering close to 200, the Menagerie very much has the feel of a family - a large, incestuous family at least.Emma always likes to play with her food. Though there are a good number of un-Embraced among her Menagerie who would willingly offer themselves up as food, she enjoys playing intricate little games with citizens from time to time. People usually see her as a harmless little girl, so its quite easy for her to catch people off guard. She wears dark makeup to draw attention to her eyes and wears pink lipstick to give her a girlish, nonthreatening appearance. Her hair is straight and dark brown and quite long, falling almost to her butt. Despite its length, Emma keeps it trimmed and well-groomed. Her eyes a a vivid bright green, adding somewhat to her hypnotic effect. Her skin is pale white and unblemished - vampires don't tend to get facial blemishes, and she is rarely involved in physical violence so has stayed away from scars. She is short and slender, looking very much like a teenager. She has noticeable curves, but they aren't exactly prominent on her body. Her gait is smooth, like a dancers, a result of thousands of years of being undead as well as the increased agility of the Palladian. She tends to wear the latest fashion among nobility, different from many vampires in that she doesn't only stick to back. She enjoys wearing white, or even green to compliment her eyes as well as back. Other than that, she stays away from too much color.Equipped ItemsAs the original creator of the Daywalker's Ring, Emma wears one of her own. She also wears one of the Veritoim's Commander Rings, linked to Damien and Rayenelle.Other ItemsEmma has little use for weapons. She does have an ornamental staff made of precious metals and donned with precious jewels. There are several facets of it that have been enchanted or have useful mechanical components. It is a result of magical and mechanical tinkering between her and some of the Madar in her thrall. The base of the staff is platinum, and is actually collapsible so the entire thing can be easily hidden on her person. Towards the tip, there is a hollow space in the base where a magical wand can be placed and later activated. Around the wand's tip are four precious stones, each connected the the four primary elements she can use. Each can store some degree of extra magic reserve. At the staff's tip is a fist-sized silver orb. Though it normally appears opaque and reflective, it is enchanted with light magic. When activated, the orb appears to be made of glass, completely see-through. Images can be willed to appear within the orb, which Emma uses for hypnotic purposes. The final enchantment on the staff itself is activated whenever the wielder lets go of the staff. Instead of dropping to the ground, it will hover in the air wherever it has been let go at. The wielder can then summon it to their hand at will.HistoryEmma was born to an aristo family in Esdoy, a relatively small kingdom slightly south of the Vampire Kingdoms. It had been kept a small town due to the frigid climate and frequent Kindred raids as long as any could remember. Emma's childhood was simple in comparison with the rest of her life. She was the favorite and the youngest of five children who even as a child constantly manipulated those around her to her whim. It was a simple life, a comfortable life. She was schooled as best as any in such a small kingdom could be, and seemed to be fairly bright. It was at thirteen that her life changed forever. A Kindred raiding party cornered her family during a trip to one of Esdoy's larger neighbors. She watched in horror as her family was rounded up to be taken back to the Kingdoms as food. Her father and brothers fought them as best they could, but what were human soldiers to the Kindred? Her oldest brother, Lucius, managed to impress them to some minor degree - and the Palladian among the party recognized the potential in Emma. They were separated from their family, re-educated to fit the lifestyle of the Kindred. Emma, still young and impressionable, made the change with ease (with a little help from the Palladian who was to become her master). She became a vampire at sixteen, forever doomed to posses the body of one who wasn't quite an adult. Her brother fought the Embrace, his adult mind shattering as be became Kallacz.For decades upon decades, Emma and Lucius lived in the Kingdoms. They survived the years, growing stronger and more refined as the sands of time eroded away their brief former lives. Eventually, Lucius' family became a dim whisper of memory in his mind. Slowly, his mind became more civilized. By his 45th year mark, he could be considered normal again, sometimes even keeping control of that beserker rage during battle. Emma was taught the art of hypnosis, and by her 100th year mark the forefathers of her Bloodline had allowed her to start her own coven. She stole her brother from the Kallacz family who had embraced him, entrapping him in her hypnotic webs as easily as she had when she was younger. Slowly but surely her house grew as thralls and even other Vampires succumbed to her power. By the time she was 325, her house had grown to the point where the elders of her Bloodline allowed her to become one of them. By the time she was 644, her power had grown too much for its own good. Her house rivaled even the strongest elder of her bloodline. But this was not enough. She wanted more power. It was easy enough to dominate a guard to one of the powerful Daerah elders. It was less easy to fight the elder herself. Her hypnosis couldn't fully lull the elder, and several of her thrall died in attempt to hold the Daerah down. But she finally had her prone, and then she drained the elder, gaining her power. She reveled in her knew ability to work magic, but the Kingdoms turned against her for her crime. They all allied to turn against her, easily crushing her house with their combined strength. She fled the Kingdoms with seven of her most powerful followers, among them her brother Lucius and Victoria, her lover and adviser. For about ten more centuries, she would wander the world as a nomad, slowly building up what she now called her Menagerie. They would never number more than 200, but they were stronger than their numbers. Each was selected out thousands from dozens of countries for some defining characteristic that stood out. Some would be Embraced. Some couldn't be embraced. But they all served a purpose, an end. And that end was whatever she wished it to be. As she moved from place to place she learned more about magic, reveling in its secrets and power. She stayed in some places longer than others, but always moved on when the truth about her Menagerie was discovered. Always she looked for a place where she could settle for good, a place where her true nature could always be hidden. Eventually, she learned of the one who had survived the near-destruction of his bloodline. Ever so intrigued, she had sought him out, finding Meliora in the process. Here was a land she could settle in. She made alliances with Henrich, who had already become Duke of Salus, and looked about for a place of her own to rule. She set her eyes on Adan, but knew that it would be no easy duchy to rule. She made alliances with Damien Blair, a demon-drow who led the Veritoim in that area, knowing that such an organization could greatly help her plans for the duchy. In return for his vast resources, she supplied him with information of other lands and some of the more exotic of the Menagerie that interested him, along with the use of her own Art. The magic she had gained in the kingdoms didn't work in Meliora, but through Damien she found a very similar source of magic. She was lead to the Athanhaer, and was finally able to employ her notable knowledge of magic within the country she sought to live.With the help of the Veritoim, she saw how her goals might be realized. The son of the ruling Duke, Caius, was leading a rebellion against the throne. Some of Emma's own Art persuaded the Duke to follow the same course. With Adan, the rest of the kingdom in turmoil, and Damien providing an inside to the throne, Emma opened up the rule of Adan. During the Rebellion, she made one of Adan's counts - Viktor Mora'mare - her thrall. At her bidding, he vehemently opposed Cato's actions and was eventually imprisoned by the duke because of his opposition. As Cato and Caius were killed, rule of Adan was open and no one was trusting another Lucius heir to take rule. The deities and nobles were supposed to meet at the palace and decide the new duke of Adan, but the meeting was interrupted by fragments of the rebellion. With two of the dukes now strangely quiet, rumors of an invasion on the horizon, and with Heinrich's approval, Phillip appointed Viktor Duke of Adan. Now, Emma rules behind him, taking the guise of his daughter. Her goals now are to assist Heinrich in the subtle vampiric invasion of Meliora, though is quite satisfied with her own duchy and does not wish to rule anything of a larger scope. With Damien now gone from the Veritoim after facing suspicion from Project 7, Emma has allied herself with Rayenelle in his place. She is slowly but surely altering the laws of Adan to coincide with her wishes, and quickly rebuilding the duchy's economy after it took a major hit in the Rebellion.Magic Emma has been a mage for over a thousand years, and is quite familiar with many different aspects of magic. She has a broad range of knowledge when it comes to the different types of elements, and the few elements she is most familiar with she is very adapt at using, especially for enchantment purposes. She is most familiar with Day, Night, and Air magic, and is also pretty familiar with Fire magic to a lesser degree. She can enchant using these elements. She can work Fate and Time magic, but rarely utilizes them in her enchantments. She is less familiar with Earth and Water magic, and though she can use them she rarely does. Her magic is the only way she can defend herself physically - she has little experience with martial combat. She is innately fairly powerful - what natural ability she might have had was augmented when she took the blood of the Daerah elder. Centuries of using magic made her very efficient in its use - any show of magic she might make will be much more effective than flashy. Athanhaer magic is very similar to the magic she had access to outside of Meliora, and she has adapted to it fairly quickly.Hypnosis Neither a magical art nor a supernatural ability, Hypnosis is the means by which Emma can assert her strong will over others. This is manifested in two ways. The first is the magnetism that triggers chemicals in the brains of others to subconsciously draw them toward her. This is communicated in a way similar to pheromones, and seems to be a physical characteristic taken on as a result of her vampirism. This effect can easily be resisted if someone is aware of it or has a strong will. It is most useful in holding those already following her together. The second is actual hypnotism, which can technically be pracised by anyone but is extremely augmented through her bloodline. She can hypnotize through a variety of mediums; from 'rolling' someone with her eyes and speaking commands in a low monotone voice; to the classic swaying pendulum technique, which produces much stronger results; to a simple suggestion which carries more weight than someone else's would. Hypnotism can have a variety of effects, including amnesia, mood alteration, hallucination, habit making or breaking, and in stronger cases actually making someone a thrall, or follower. Though some hypnotism has a trigger which releases it, hypnotism can usually only be broken by another stronger (or equally strong) hypnotist. Those with strong willpower or who are pre-aware of her hypnosis are better suited to resist it.
