Description: Fear the future defender of Liresul

Damhriel Ame - December 30, 2010 12:38 PM (GMT)
Name: Damhriel Ame
Age: 43 or the elven equivalent of 13
Gender: Female
Race: Elf
Sexual Orientation: She's not into boys yet
Follower of:

This has been highly questionable since the death of Venea. Damhriel only obsessively worshipped one goddess, and one goddess alone. And with the lack of a new air god, it's hard to say whether or not she'll worship the new one if it ever arrives. She has 'devoted' herself to the element of air, not it's representative.

Occupation: Once a mage in training. No one is sure now..

Personality:

Damhriel is what many would want in a child her age. Still somewhat cute, sweet, and yet to be tainted by the terrorizing rage that is adolescence as she descends into her years as a teen. She has that sunny personality, that drives the most pessimistic up a wall.

Damhriel is still the social butterfly, as she had always been. Damhriel likes talking, and interacting with people. Though trying to grab someone's attention has become a lower priority on her list, she does enjoy seeing a new face, and goes out of her way to try and befriend everyone, with or without their consent. A bad habit she has fallen into, is that she has a habit of trying to force people to like her, through doing outrageously kind acts to try and impress the individual, or try to interact with them when they clearly do not want to be spoken to. Some may say that Damhriel has developed a nearly stalkerlike quality when it comes to her attempt to make friends.. and once she knows that they like her, Damhriel will either become extremely close, or completely forget about them, almost as if it were a game.

Another thing that Damhriel has a habit of doing, is assuming the best of people. Damhriel is very much under the belief that there is good in everyone, even the most heartless villian, and as such, Damhriel will give everyone a special chance to a redeem themselves before casting them away for the dead. She may even give several chances before being put on Damhriel's shit list. Which, god help you if you get on that, seriously. For it takes extreme skill to get put on that list, and trust me, it's not the list you would want to be on. Damhriel naivety also makes her optimisim go way too far. An example of this would be her thinking that an air god would arrive before the invasion. Or that the Felori would magically forget the gigantic city in the mountains and proceed with invading the rest of Meliora. Needless to say, Damhriel's good heart and innocent thinking gets her into a lot of trouble.

Damhriel is still, very stubborn in her decisions and her loyalties, whatever they may be. She is hard to coax or lead astray when she decides something.. trust me, ask the priests who practically flew through the window against their will. Or Damhriel's insistence that she is going to take over Liresul. She's incredibly stubborn, and refuses to listen to the most logical sense when it comes to her decisions. To talk her out of whatever she's doing, is like trying to talk the sun into not rising. It isn't going to happen. The same thing with her loyalties. While it's become a little bit harder to grab her loyalties, due to the death of Venea, Damhriel still has strong loyalties, and doesn't like having conversations that are insulting to the ones she is loyal to. Which: is a good thing, in a way.

Damhriel still has that touch bit of clever in her. She's not super smart, but she does have the ability to analyze her situation, and adapt to what may need to be done. Which, is considered common sense, but see, you have no idea how few people have that now-a-days. It's a talent within itself, but regardless, Damhriel is a sponge, waiting to soak up knowledge, wherever it may be. It makes her quite the curious person, one that would break any sort of personal boundary to see to it that she had enough information about her current surroundings. Some say she's so curious, that she may even be more curious then an old air mage, who was legend at Liresul for getting into things that she shouldn't get into. It makes her an avid listener, and an inquistor when the time calls for it.

Damhriel, however, is a little more mature then the average child. Hey, after the invasion of Liresul, she had to sober up a little bit to get something done. She may occasionally invest the time to pick a flower, but the age is gone where she may have referred to it as a pet, or friend, or try to engage active conversation with it. Nor would she be foolish enough to daly around outside temples when there was things to get done! She is usually lighthearted and kind, to everyone, but when it comes right down to it, the crazy childlike imagination is gone, replaced with a more realistic, practical thinking of mind.

Damhriel has grown like a weed since the childlike days at the temple. Her once 4 foot, slightly chubby structure has grown to a 5 foot stage of awkwardness, as her body starts going through the changes and starts taking the path towards womanhood. Her head is a little bigger then her body at the moment, her feet and hands a little larger and clumsier then they ought to be, and the slight hint of pubescence showing in her finger and her chest. Her skin has grown a slight tan, the fat that had once globbed her fingers, her hands, and everything else, seemingly burned away into a thin, lithe, wirey, mishapened teenaged mishap. Still, she got the good end of the genes, at least in her opinion.

Damhriel's hair is a few degrees lighter then her sisters, perhaps due to her constant presence in the sun, or her acts of idiocy when she was younger, or god knows what had touched the girl to make her hair that color. Regardless, her face has a slightly angular, almost butch feature to it, the same facial structure present in her sister, and her mother before her. Most of the rose on her cheeks have disappated, but the slight hint of the dimples are more evident then ever now as she reaches into her teenaged years. Her eyes are still the same piercing blue, wide, and full of ambition.

Damhriel's wardrobe had finally grown with her, though lately, she's taken to wearing the few white/grey robes, as a sign of patronage to Liresul, and Venea, the last air goddess, and her idol, once upon a time. She hasn't had the time yet to go shopping for herself, so for now it would do.

Weaponry:

Damhriel... still does not have weapons. Someone should give her one. SRSLY.

Strengths

Damhriel herself does not have that many strengths, other then some martial art training from her sister Arashi. But the degree of the fighting is limited.. strictly defensive moves that are used to push away and evade the opponent, long enough for her to run away. Nothing more, nothing less. Arashi was crippled before she could teach her some more advanged techniques.

Weaknesses

Damhriel is a child, and as such, she is more prone, more easily manipulated, and physically weaker then most people she encounters. As a child, no one really takes her seriously, no one has to listen to what they say, and there are sickos in the world who god knows what they would do to a little girl like her.

History:

Damhriel Ame was born in a small little town somewhere out in the middle of nowhere.. probably long gone and dead since the Felorian invasion. The child had an unfortunate degree of luck during her childhood.. often kept quite close to the house at the time of her walking years, due to the supposed lost of her sister, Arashi. There, Damhriel had a normal life, up until the same bandits that supposibly killed her sister, came back, and well.. finished the job.. Except, of course.. for Damhriel.

Damhriel was found later by a few missionary priests who had come in to help aid the citizens. One of the priests had pitied her, for Damhriel had suffered some injuries during that incident, and now orphaned, taken her to Liresul, where the child had a good future as a priest. However, when she was taken to the beautiful mountain city, thigns didn't turn out that way.. in fact, they didn't turn out that way at all. See, what Damhriel had neglected to tell the priest, was her full name. And at that time, Ame would have made a very big difference. And it did. The minute she murmurred her name.. the entire temple was in a confused rush. Ame? There was another Ame? Wierd. How could there be two Ames? Arashi was an orphan.. or was she? Eventually, the air goddess spoke with Damhriel, *whom Damhriel would practically fall short of falling in love with, and obsess about until her death* and fetched her older sister Arashi, a famous air mage, and one of Venea's elite.

However, Arashi was always travelling around the world doing errands. And Damhriel after seeing her sister, wanted to be a mage. And showed the potential for it.. so Venea had the child sent away with Arashi, to train her to become a mage. And through her travels.. well.. Damhriel encountered many, many things.. Like..

1. Dealing with a homosidal banshee trying to kill her while in flight training..
2. Meeting the white elves of Anstruth before secession
3. Falling out of a boat into the water, nearly drowning to death..
4. Meeting the earth god, and learning that flowers do not make good pets.

And tons of other fluffy adventures.. that was, until her death.

Then everything went downhill for Damhriel..

As Venea died, so did her patronage for churches, and the soul that once lifted her to be a mage, faded. Stuck at apprentice level, she became restless, and depressed, wandering lifelessly around the temples of Liresul, as did most of the people after the death of Venea. Without an air goddess to protect them.. Liresul was without the breath of life that they had taken for granted. And over time, Liresul started to lose that essence that made the city so famous to begin with.

They had no chance when the Felori came.

The Felori had breached their mountains in no time at all. The air mages couldn't rain the barrages from above without getting shot. The bullets often cut through their air attacks.. only the most skilled mages could hold them back, and of course, primitive weaponry only broke in the might of Felorian superiority. Damhriel was the horrible witness to this all when it came. She even witnesses her sister getting shot several times, before falling to the ground. And with such little wielders of magic.. Liresul had no choice but to evacuate what they could, and surrender. Her, Arashi, Kayra, Mazrin, and a few other air mages organized a huge evacuation, which put most of the Liresul citizens largely in the cities of O'Shea, and Imperial, before finally being forced to leave themselves.

And for a brief moment after the attack... Damhriel. felt that spark that once fueled her to be a mage.

And it ignited a small flame which fueled her love for Liresul, air, and Venea once more. Who were they? The Felori? How dare they take their city? And now, Damhriel has a goal.. become the best mage ever... and take back her city, her home, of Liresul.

And now, she eagerly quests for the freedom of Liresul, and the new air deity, wherever he or she may be. Last time she heard, there was a chance that Felorians got pushed out and conquered by a border prince! Still not good, but a hell of a lot better to fight against, that's for sure!

Magic: Apprentice level air magic. Damhriel can do nothing more then mere air cantrips. The most she can do is summon up a large gust of wind, but that takes a lot out of her.

Degree of study: Theoretically.. nearly 20-30 years of apprentice level magic?
