Spiral Caves [X]
In order to get from the Central Pier or the Eastern Region to the Plateau, one must travel through these caves. They slowly make their way up over a thousand feet to the top of the plateau. Many creatures of the dark live in here, and it could be dangerous if you aren't careful.

Tall Forest [Unclaimed]
The name is mostly in reference to the fact that the Tall Forest sits higher than almost any other area in Maiara, save the mountains. It is temperate, with a warm summer and a cold winter, in which most of the trees drop their leaves and snow falls. There is plenty of food year-round, making a good place for a pack.

Cold Forest [Unclaimed]
Farther to the north and east of the plateau is the Cold Forest. It is cold much of the year. The vast majority of the trees are coniferous, and able to stand up to the intense cold found in winter. There is usually snow on the ground, even sometimes in summer. However, there are also many things that can tolerate this environment. If you could exploit them, maybe a pack wouldn't be so hard to run...

Frozen Beach [Unclaimed]
The plateau suddenly drops in the far north, where a beach can be found. Fine, white sand lines the beach from one end of the drop to the other, however, much of it is often covered by ice. The ground between the beach and the plateau's edge is almost always covered in ice, and little lives here. However, this place is not lost for life. In fact, many rumors about things that dwell here make it seem quite worthwhile to explore...

Icy Peaks [X]
The western edge of the plateau ascends further into the mountains. These are the tallest in all of Maiara--the tops are permafrosted. It is extremely dangerous, as one misstep could be the end. The high altitude has an effect on the energy and thought process of most Pokémon. It's said that one who can climb to the highest summit can enter the shrine to the Guardian Bird Articuno and receive blessings.

Saraku Rift [X]
In the center of the plateau is a deep, deep valley. The orange, layered rock exposed at the sides are full of nests of bird Pokémon. At the bottom, many, many feet down, is a lake. There are many fish in it, and supposedly cool fossils. Some ruins sit down here as well. If you could find your way to the bottom without falling, maybe you could find some treasure.
