Chloe had just gotten done with some good old Quidditch practice. She looked a right mess is what she looked like. Her hair was pulled up but long big strands were falling down, she was completely sporting the windswept look. Along with some of the dirt smudges on her face from crashing into the ground once...or twice, one could easily assume what she had been up to in the past hour or so. She was thankful they hadn't worn robes, it was a rather hot day outside, and she had been allowed to wear her muggle shorts and a ratty old t-shirt. She slumped down on the open fields, her arms spread out as well as her legs and she looked up at the sky. The sun beat down on her ferociously and she wasn't sure what had brought about the sudden heat but she was glad for it. She took a deep breath and let it out loudly, hot weather was awesome.
She began trying to see if she was capable of moving her arms or legs but they were all too sore to do any kind of movement so she continued to just lay there, trying to count how many times she breathed in one minute. She wasn't doing a good job of it because she got distracted by something about every twenty seconds. Her mind involuntarily went to Riley whom she had so much fun in the library with a few days ago. It was a shame that they hadn't talked much before then, they obviously got along really well.
She finally managed to get some feeling back in her limbs and managed to sit up, not realizing that bits of dry grass had gotten stuck in her hair. Not that she would have really cared if she had known anyways. Then she saw something in the Forbidden Forest, or on the edge of it really, and looked very closely to try and see what it was. It looked like some kind of animal but she couldn't be sure...

Riley wiped the sweat from his brow as he plucked the last valerian root he could find. He needed to stock up on some of the things he needed for his pranks. This particular root would be good to use in some of his more potent jokes- like the ones he liked to play on Professor Lockman. Riley could ground up some of the root and slip it into some chocolates or other candy. Whomever ate the tainted treat would be asleep within a few minutes. And to top it all off, his sister had given him some other ingredients he could mix into the candy to make the person snore and drool heavily in their sleep. It would be perfect for Lockman! He tied the string closed on his supply bag and shrunk it don to put into his regular school bag. Riley slung it over his shoulder as he made his way out of the Forbidden Forest.
He squinted as the light hit his eyes and groaned softly at the increase of heat as he left the shade of the trees. Making his way back up towards the castle, he noticed a person lying in the grass, looking at him oddly. As he got closer, he recognized Chloe. Riley smiled brightly. He had really enjoyed the time they had spent in the library and only wished they could have met sooner. He figured he would say hello. Riley made his way over to her and grinned at her appearance. She had obviously just come from Quidditch... or from being attacked by a grass monster. "Hey Chloe!" he greeted. "How's it going? Are you relaxing or do you need help getting up?" he laughed. She looked like she could barely move.

Hmmm...whatever it was it was standing on two feet. Oh man, were there werewolves in there? Chloe started to cringe a little as the creature starting walking closer towards her. Then she realized they had a backpack on. Well that was odd. Werewolves didn't carry bookbags did they? She had to go ahead and assume that they more than likely had no use for them. So she was wrong there. It had to be a student, there really wasn't another choice. As the person came closer Chloe smiled, actually she was grinning from ear to ear. It was Riley, the very person she had just been thinking about. Ah, well, if you speak of the devil he will come.
If Chloe had been a normal girl she may have been completely upset that Riley saw her in such a mess. But she didn't care in the slightest. This was Chloe in her element. He'd better just go ahead and get used to it. She tried to find the strength to use her vocal box, she knew it was in there somewhere, "Heya Riley," she said feebly, exasperation clear in her voice but the big smile was still plastered on her face. She laughed and looked up at him with a half-smile, "Is it that obvious that I'm having trouble moving? Ugh and I thought I'd been covering it up so well," she teased, scratching the tip of her nose that was itching because of the caked on dirt. Ugh, that took a lot of effort.
She decided to keep on teasing, "So Riles, how's your bro doin'?" She tried to keep from giggling.

'Mind if I join you?" he asked as he plopped down on the grass next to Chloe. he doubted she would say no, and if she did, then oh well. Riley smiled and figured the best thing to do would be to keep her in a conversation. Maybe she would be interested in his new pranks? "I was out picking some valerian root to use in one of my new pranks." he stated. "Any idea why that would be such an asset?" he teased her. He wanted to see if she would catch on.
Riley chuckled at her sluggish attempts to function. She was obviously beat. "nope. Not obvious at all. I'm just a trained observer." he laughed, smiling. "And I observe the fact that you look worn out. Rough practice?" The smile dropped a bit from his face at her teasing words. So, she wanted to go don that road again. Two could play at that game. Riley smirked slightly,"My brother is fine, just enjoying his practices and dating this girl and that girl." he waved his hands to enforce his point. "I, myself, am wonderful. Thank you for asking." he stuck his tongue out at her.

Before Chloe even had the chance to answer Riley he had already plopped on down beside her. She rolled her eyes, "Well sure Riley, why don't you just sit down?" she growled playfully. Chloe smiled at him, unable to keep a straight face. She had learned quickly that it was almost an impossible task to keep a straight face around Riley. It was one of the main reasons that Chloe liked to hang around him. She hoped that after their library time they'd be spending more time together instead of just the casual hello when they saw each other. He was such a fun guy that she couldn't help but want to be around him. She was practically drawn to him like a magnet. She rose her eyebrow at his statement, she had no idea what the roots were for. She scowled and put on her whiny voice, "Aw, Riley, you know I don't know that kind of stuff. Don't make my mind exhausted tooooo," she complained. "Just tell me." She knew she was probably being put to some kind of "Are-you-a-good-prankster" test that she was already doomed to fail from the get go. Anything she had learned about pranks she had learned through him.
She scowled again as he laughed at her, "Good, I would hate to think that my inability to function was obvious to anyone that wasn't trained," she mumbled, her voice slowly coming back to her. She looked at him with wide eyes and used as much of her muscles as she could, nodding her head up and down, "More than rough. I was having an off day and then he made us stay an extra two hours! He's trying to run some kind of boot camp. But it'll pay off. You're coming to our match next Saturday aren't you?" He better. She wasn't going to be very happy with him if he didn't. She smiled, "Well, I guess I'll just have to settle for you then," she teased. She stuck her tongue back out at him, "Well I figured you were fine if you're off picking some of that whatever its called root," she said offhandedly.
She was starting to feel a little lightheaded from sitting up and having the blazing sun, which had just earlier been comforting, beating down upon her with all its might. She laid back down on the grass again but it was more uncomfortable than it had been before. She slid over slowly and put her head on his lap and let out a sigh, "Ah, don't move. You're more comfortable than the ground," she told him, stating the obvious. She didn't care if he didn't like her laying there. She wasn't moving. Hell, she could probably even go to sleep at that very moment if it weren't for the sun and the fact that Riley was there. She wasn't going to waste her time with him.
She smiled up at him, "Think your brother would be jealous?" She couldn't get enough out of that joke. It was the one that actually seemed to get the most reaction out of him. She used a little more energy and picked her hand up to pinch his cheek like an old grandmother would do to a small child, "Aw, I'm just kiddin' Riles."

He shot her a goofy grin. "Why thank you very much, don't mind if I do." he chuckled, crossing one ankle over the other as he leaned back on his arms. Riley stared out over the fields, letting the heat spread over him. It wasn't too unbearable, but it was enough to make him want to take off his robe. He quickly sat up and pulled his robes off, sighing contentedly as his body cooled a bit. That was SO much better! He balled his robes up and tossed them behind him. He laughed at Chloe's response. She was so cute when she begged. "Poor Chloe. Too overworked. I guess I will have to ease your troubles and tell you the answer." he fixed her with a bright smile. "Valerian root can be ground down to use as a sedative. If I put enough of it into a candy or chocolate, it will make a person fall almost instantly asleep." he raised his hand to let her know he wasn't finished. "But, what makes it even better is that my sister clued me in on a few other herbs that, when combined with valerian root will have some interesting effects. One will make the sleeping person drool massive amounts of saliva, puddles worth! Another will make the person snore so loudly and heavily, it's sure to peel paper from the walls." It was easy to see that he was excited about his new found prank ingredients.
Riley just continued to chuckle at her scowl. he felt bad for her though. it seemed as if she had had one hell of a practice. "Is he trying to wear you all down before games? That doesn't seem like a very good strategy to me." he replied. Riley had been planning on going to the match, if not because he loved Quidditch, but then because Chloe would be playing. But, he wasn't going to tell her that. "Yea, I might be there." he replied nonchalantly. He wanted to see how riled up he could get her. He scowled playfully at her, "Settle, eh? Nice. Thanks for the ego boost." he pouted.
The next thing Riley knew, Chloe's head was in his lap. He looked down at her and smiled. "Do I look like a pillow?" he joked. He actually didn't mind her lying on him. In fact, looking at her lying down made him want to lie down as well. He lay back, grabbing his robes and tucking them under his head. "Ahhh. This is nice.' he sighed happily as he watched the clouds float by overhead.
He scowled again at her interest in his brother. He knew she only did it to make him react, and so react he did. "I don't know if he will be jealous. He has a throng of girls vying for his attention, nevermind doing things like putting their heads on his lap." he retorted. His scowl deepened when she pinched his cheek. His grandmother used to do that ALL the time. He hated it when she did it, but he didn't seem to mind when Chloe did it, as long as it wasn't too often. He rolled his eyes at her nickname for him. It was the same one his sister used to call him. Riley just huffed at her in response.

She rolled her eyes and casually flipped her hand, "Pfft. I know. You'll do whatever you want to do," she teased, chuckling a little bit. She watched as he leaned back on his arms and felt a surge of jealousy. If only her arms could support her right now. She watched as he got up without saying a word, was he already leaving? She frowned a bit until she realized he was just taking off his robes. She grinned up at him, "Oh, am I getting a little striptease now?" she teased, giving him an audacious wink. She smiled contentedly as he told her he would just give her the answer and not make her work for it. She grinned as he told her what the roots would do and about the special ingredients his sister had told him about. She shook her head, "Let me guess, Lockman again?" She was the boy's favorite target. Sometimes Chloe couldn't help but feel sorry for her. "I tell you, one of these days you're going to push her over the edge and she's not going to stop till she's got your head on a plate mister," she told him in a mock warning tone, her finger pointed at him and everything...even though that did take a lot of work to keep her arm up like that. She couldn't help but smile though, he got so excited about his pranks. It was endearing.
Chloe nodded her head in exasperation, "I know right? Apparently our team isn't anywhere near good enough to beat Hufflepuff. I don't know what team James is looking at but it sure as hell isn't Hufflepuff," she scowled. She normally didn't say words like hell, she just didn't like to most of the time. Her mum had always told her not to say it. But oh well, mum wasn't around right now and she wasn't happy with James at the moment. She glared at him, "You better be joking Riley Dane. You better be there! Its your own house! Show some pride what don't ya," she teased but not really teasing. She would be mad at him if he didn't come. He'd pay for it somehow and she tried to look as menacing as possible but she knew that she had never really been all too good at that look. She grinned, "I know, I'm always good for raising your ego, eh?" He just knew how to take a joke. Or else she wouldn't joke like she was...no she probably would.
She beamed up at him, "No, not really. You don't feel like one either but I guess you'll do," she replied, snuggling into his lap and making herself even more comfortable. "You better watch out though, I may just end up falling asleep right here and you'll be stuck out here all day," she teased but tried to sound as serious as she could. She smiled and sighed along with him, "It sure is." She looked up at the clouds, trying to look for formations like she had always done when she was a little kid. She pointed up excitedly, "Oooh, look at that cloud! Its shaped like a pirate ship!" Easily entertained.
She sighed yet again, "So I'm getting the impression that you don't really like the idea of me going after your brother...am I right?" She loved messing with this boy though she wasn't quite sure what made it so fun. All she knew was that it was. Chloe chuckled as he huffed at her. "So other than picking out your roots, what else have you been up to lately? Did you ever pull off any of those pranks we found?" Then Chloe suddenly remembered the promise they had made each other, "And remember, we still have to shave our heads," she giggled uncontrollably.

Riley just gave her a knowing grin and chuckled. He usually would have asked first, but he was pretty sure Chloe wouldn't have minded. They had gotten to know each others personalities rather well with the time they had spent together in the library. He raised his eyebrow at her question and winked at her. "That depends. Do you want one?" he asked, a mischievous smile playing on his face. He could only imagine what her answer would be and he tried to contain his laughter at the entire situation. She had to know he was only fooling anyway. Riley chuckled again, "Yea, it's for Lockman. She's just too much fun to prank. I don't know why that is, but it is." He shrugged his shoulders. "She gets all kinds of angry, but she has yet to become violent. I don't think she has a violent bone in her body. Sure, she's strict and prissy, but I don't think she would actually hex someone, let alone a student." He smiled at Chloe. it looked as if it was taking all of her strength to point at him. She must really be worn out!
Riley nodded his head in agreement. Gryffindor never had a problem beating Hufflepuff, if one was going to be honest, the team wasn't very good. He flashed her a smile as she glared at him. He patted her on the head, like he would a little child, "Of course I'm going to be there. Don't get your Quidditch gear in a twist. I wouldn't miss it." Normally, he would have nudged her, but she looked sore enough and he didn't want to make it worse.
He smiled as she snuggled further into his lap. This was actually kinda nice. He didn't want to say anything aloud though, that might make things weird. And he definitely didn't want to ruin their closeness. "No worries. I might just fall asleep myself." he gave a mock yawn and stretched his arms. "But really, if you do fall asleep, I might have to play some jokes on you. Just as a warning. I can't help myself when there's an easy target right in front of me." he teased. At her exclamation, he looked turned his gaze to where her finger was pointing. He definitely didn't see a pirate ship though, the cloud looked more like a dragon. "I think it looks like a dragon. see? There's the tail, and the wings..." he pointed out the different things he could make out.
Riley rolled his eyes, even though she couldn't see it. "No, no. Please, continue talking about my brother. It's no trouble at all. All the girls do it." his voice was laced with a playful sarcasm. "Of course I mind! I mean, what's wrong with me? Why do girls only want to hang out with me when they realize who my brother is?" Riley's voice was still teasing, but he was half serious. Lately, a lot of girls had started hanging out with him, but they weren't interested in him, just his brother. It was driving him batty! And he knew Chloe wasn't like that, that she said what she did because she knew it irritated him, so he didn't mind her teasing. But, there was only so much his male ego could take! "I haven't pulled off too many, I've been kind of distracted with looking for the roots so I can try this new one out of Lockman." he smiled. "Hopefully I will be able to do some of them soon. If I had a partner in crime, I might be able to do more..." he let his sentence trail off. Riley chuckled at her mention of their earlier pact to shave their heads. "Well, I'm game if you are. Just name the when and where and I will show up to help shave your head." he replied.

She laughed at him and shook her head, "God no! Don't take my innocence! She squealed and made a big show of covering her eyes. They were just like old friends, just like her and Apollo. Though Apollo and her friendship was different, they really had known each other since they were in diapers, and well, there was just something different about it though Chloe couldn't put her finger on it. Oh well. She rolled her eyes, "You know for someone who comes up with such original pranks you'd think that you'd come up with more targets than just the one," she sighed, "Its a little disappointing really." She was only playing with him but his pranks and his brother seemed to be his two sensitive spots, so she was going to poke jokes at those just to get under his skin. She laughed at his response, "Well you never know. She may just snap one day and go crazy after all those pranks. I wouldn't underestimate her if I were you," she warned him, her left eyebrow slightly raised.
She scowled at him as he patted her on the head like a little kid. She couldn't help but laugh at him though, honestly, her quidditch gear all in a twist? She still looked at him with her mouth in a thin line and her green eyes flashing for just a moment with warning, "You better be there Riley Danes or I'll find you afterwards and beat you into the ground...the muggle way." She knew it wasn't much of a threat but she wouldn't go through with it anyways. She'd probably just end up shaving his head in his sleep or something else along those lines.
Ugh, he was almost too comfortable. She was about to fall asleep, the sun was being nice again, filling her with warmth but not too much warmth, and the light breeze that hit them now was relaxing. She laughed quietly, "Falling asleep is too tempting. Don't ruin the happy thoughts with worry that i may actually fall asleep and wake up with blue skin or something. You never stop thinking of ways to torment people do you?" She teased as she stretched out her own arms and legs, feeling the tingling all the way in her fingertips and toes. She scowled as he corrected her and checked again, damn. It really did look more like a dragon. But she was stubborn, "No way, you're out of your mind. That's a pirate ship," she muttered, lying right through her teeth.
She let out a big sigh, "You just always want to keep bringing up all these other girls. Geez, trying to make me jealous or something?" She teased right back at him. It was a good thing he didn't get tired of being teased, if he did, this friendship probably wouldn't have lasted too long. His last comment was a little more serious and Chloe wondered if that was actually a real problem for him. it didn't seem like it, she was only doing it out of a playful manner, she liked hanging out with Riley because he was Riley. She smiled at him, "Aw, Riles. There's nothing wrong with you. There's just something about an international Quidditch player thats hard to resist. But I mean I could get him without hanging out with you. I hang out with you cause you're Riley Dane, fun crazy practical joker who has a crazy ability to make me laugh my pants off," she told him honestly but made sure to keep it playful and not too serious. She grinned, "Partner in crime, eh? I guess I could handle that title. I don't want to get into way too much trouble though. I'd like to stay in school if you don't mind," she pointed out. She knew he never got into too much trouble, he always bordered the line, but she wasn't nearly as sneaky as he was! She smiled again, "Right after my Quidditch game, astronomy tower. You game?"

Riley snorted and laughed at her response. He was tempted to pretend and give her a show, just to see how she would react. He reached down to the hem of his shirt and started lifting it up, "Better open your eyes Chloe. You're gonna miss the show." he couldn't keep a straight face and busted out laughing even harder, giving her an exaggerated wink. Like he would actually strip for her- no way. When he was able to stop laughing, he fixed her with a goofy smile. "Just because my pranks are random and original, doesn't mean my targets have to be. Lockman is just too good of a test subject. Why fix it if it isn't broken?" he shrugged his shoulders at her nonchalantly. Professor Lockman was his ultimate test subject because she was so gullible and trusting. She obviously never learned from her mistakes either. Normally when someone eats a candy that turns their entire face blue, one tends to not really eat candies from an anonymous person anymore. But, she did and still does.
Riley grinned at her scowl, she was so adorable when she was made. Like a little lion cub trying to act intimidating. "Calm yourself Chloe, no need to get violent. I will be there, with bells on. Don't fret, pet." And now that he had said it, he thought it would be a spectacular idea to actually show up to the Quidditch game with bells on. Loud, obnoxious, annoying bells. She wouldn't be able to miss him. It was a fantastic idea!
He smiled down at her. "Falling asleep is tempting. It's a nice day out. But, I cannot be held responsible for what may occur if you do happen to fall asleep on me." He snickered quietly. He did enjoy teasing her, she was so much fun. Riley stared up at the cloud they were both examining. It definitely looked like a dragon, she must be seeing things. "Well, I don't know what cloud you are looking at, but the one I'm looking at, looks like a dragon."
Riley chuckled softly at her dramatic sigh. "I'm just letting you know the reality of the situation is all. Don't want to see your hopes get crushed if I can help prevent that." He patted her head where it rested on his stomach. He smiled at her comment, "Awww shucks, you're going to make me blush."[b] he joked. [b]"If I didn't know how badly you were after my brother, I'd think you were after me." he chuckled, a sly grin on his face. Their banter never got boring; she could dish it out as well as she could take it. That made her alright in his book. And her agreeing to be his partner in crime made him like her all the more. "Ok. If we plan any risky pranks, I will take the fall so you can continue your education." he replied. Riley raised his eyebrow at her, even though she couldn't see it. So, she rally anted to go through with the whole head shaving thing? He wasn't going to back down. "After the game? Sounds like a date." he smiled.

Chloe knew that he wouldn't really and pretended that she was peeking through her fingers to get a glimpse of it. Once his straight face fell hers did as well, "Aw shucks, I thought you might have actually gone through with it," she sighed as she snapped her fingers loudly. She just laughed at his wink and shook her head. She was just thankful he was the sort of boy who wouldn't really give a girl a striptease. Then she would have really been running for the hills. She rolled her eyes at his response, how typical...she should have seen that one coming. "Alright, whatever. I can see you aren't going to be changing your mind about Lockman anytime soon. Have you ever tried any pranks on the other professors? I bet Professor Oakshire would take it really well, mind you though, he might get you back. I bet Finnigan would skin you alive though," she told him. She really thought Finnigan might, he always kind of scared her. Maybe it was just because she thought he was incredibly powerful, or at least he had that air about him, or maybe it was something else entirely. He was very nice but she just knew she wouldn't want to get on his bad side.
His grinning at her while she scowled made her scowl even more. She hated it when people did that! Gosh darn it, they should be intimidated! Not smiling at her! Though she did have to laugh at him when she thought about him at the game with bells. "Alright, good. That sounds like a plan to me. You should have a big sign with "Chloe Rocks My Socks" on it too. That'd be good. Just so everyone would know why you're there," she joked. He probably would have gone to the game anyways, who didn't go to Quidditch games? Especially boys? Especially the younger brother of a professional player?
Chloe grumbled something incoherent before clearly saying, "Fine, fine. I won't fall asleep but thats only because I know the sorts of things you'd do to me without feeling guilty in the slightest." She didn't like to feel defeated but she was now. Besides, her energy was slowly coming back, she could mover her legs now and that was a good sign. She just shrugged her shoulders, which was hard to do while laying down, "I think you're delusional." Stupid dragon-shaped cloud that looked more like a pirate ship at first glance.
She just laughed as he patted her head, "Well, I guess I should be thanking you for being so concerned for my well-being then," she grinned, "But don't worry, I'm a big girl. I can take care of myself." She stuck her nose highly in the air, which wasn't very difficult given her position. She giggled, "Aw come on Riles, I thought you would have noticed by now. Have you not been able to tell that I'm just head over heels in lovvvve with you?" she teased right back. She liked that they could tease probably until the end of time. She didn't think that she'd ever get tired of it. She wanted to spend as much time with him as she could, he was just such a crazy, fun person. But she didn't want to be a weird girl who really annoyed him and wouldn't leave him alone. No sir, she didn't want to be that girl. She grinned and patted the side of her leg, the only thing she could pat without really having to move, "Good, thats all I ask. So are you above needing to finish your education these days?" He wouldn't need one to open a joke shop, which is what she thought he needed to do anyways. She was glad he was still game with the shaving heads, "Excellent, its a date then. I still need to think of something to write on your head though..." and she lost herself thinking of funny things to write.

Riley chuckled at her scowl and her idea for his sign. He reached his hand up and scratched his chin in mock deep thought. "Well,.... I suppose I can do that for you. I guess it wouldn't kill me to hold a sign. Although I would like to point out that I don't even hold signs for my brother, so you better realize what a big deal that is." he replied, his voice taking on a faux seriousness. It was the truth though. He loved his brother but he had never brought a sign to a game for him. It was too much hassle and his brother probably would've slugged him. Especially because knowing Riley, he'd make the sign do something crazy like explode or burst into fireworks.
He smiled down at her even though she probably couldn't see it. She sounded like she was half asleep already, though she was promising she wouldn't fall asleep. "I can't help it if my best inspiration comes when I have a sleeping target." he joked. He peered up at the clouds again. They were moving so quickly. Weird. He chuckled at Chloe again, "You don't think I'm delusional, you think I'm handsome and charming and quite the catch." He tried to keep a straight face but ended up breaking into a smile towards the end of his sentence. He just liked teasing her so much.
"You should be thanking me. I'm not this nice and concerned with every girl I meet you know. Just the cute ones." he would have winked but she wouldn't be able to see it anyway, so it was pointless. At her teasing he laughed and reached down to muss up her hair. His brother used to do that to his sister all the time and it drove her crazy. Riley thought for a moment about her question. He loved being at Hogwarts but he didn't see education as being a large necessity in his life. Granted some of the things he learned in class came in handy when developing new pranks, but that was about the extent education played in his life. "I'm sure I will finish school, but after that, I don't know. Doubt I will go on to Uni. No point in it for me. What about you? What're your plans?" He always got ind of antsy when he talked about his future. He really didn't know what he wanted to do and it worried him, so he tried to push it away.

She grinned, "Good, then its all settled." She eyed him suspiciously for a minute. Was there any way that he could make her a sign that would end up letting off some loud sound or something to mess her up? Could he somehow make this a prank? She tapped her finger on the side of her face, "You aren't gonna pull a prank on me in the middle of the game are you?" she asked, her voice attempting to sound menacing but failing miserably. Hopefully she wasn't giving him any ideas though. He could pull something on the opposing team but if it was something that messed her up, she'd be on him like white on rice. And she knew that she would probably never be able to predict what Riley was going to do next...could anyone? He was like a ticking time bomb, one that you knew was going to go off at some point but you had no idea when. And then the next thing you know your skin is dyed green or you have boils all over your face. "I've got my eye on your Riley," she told him as she pointed her finger at him.
She grumbled. She knew she couldn't fall asleep, she'd wake up with an extra arm or something ridiculous. "I'm supposed to be your apprentice, not your target," she retorted, even though she knew there was probably no position that she could ever hold where she wouldn't be a target for Riley. There wasn't a position anyone could hold that Riley wouldn't think about pulling a prank on. He did go for professors! She rolled her eyes. "Yeah, I think you've just given me enough proof for me to really believe that you are delusional," she teased. She wasn't ever sure that there would actually ever be a moment where she and Riley would be completely serious. It just didn't seem possible for the two of them.
She sighed, "Well, if I didn't any better, I'd say you were only nice to the cute ones because you're trying to charm them away from your brother," she replied, folding her hands across her stomach. Chloe swatted at him without success when he mussed up her hair. Her hands only hit air, never coming anywhere close to contact with Riley. She still didn't have the strength to actually make that kind of effort. The fifth year grew a little uncomfortable. She had meant the question rhetorically, she hadn't expected them to actually talk about the future. It wasn't something that she enjoyed talking about, she was almost scared of it. She would be graduating in a little over two years and she still had no idea what she wanted to do once she left. Were they actually having a serious conversation? She shifted uncomfortably, "Um, well I'm not really sure yet," she mumbled, looking up at the sky. "Apollo and I always talked about running a Menagerie together," she added, trying to sound like she had some sort of plan...even though she and Apollo weren't really that serious about it.
