Riley could hardly believe it- he had a creative block! His pranking genius was being waylaid because he was having a difficult time coming up with new ideas. This was unacceptable in his eyes. Never in his 17 years, well technically only he'd only been pulling pranks for 10 years but that was neither here nor there- never had this happened to him! Had he been at home he would have gone straight to his sister Sera, the brain-iac that she was, and asked for her help in coming up with some new potions formulas or charms, but he couldn't even do that.
Sighing, Riley figured the only thing he could do was go to the library and do some research. It was going to be long, it was going to be tedious, but in the end, he figured it would be worth it. After all, it was going to be bloody riotous when he got some new pranks! So, he stuffed some quills, ink and parchments into his bag and practically sprinted to the library. Pushing open the door and ignoring the glare from the librarian, he made his way to the back shelves where the charms texts were housed. What better place to start than with charms, right? They were always useful. He tossed his bag down on a nearby table and started perusing some of the book titles on the shelf closest to him.
Riley pulled one down, coughing as some of the dust filled his mouth. "Interesting. 'Glamour Charms for the Beautiful Witch in You'. That could work to my advantage." he mused. Maybe he could use some of the charms to alter other people's appearances? He placed the book aside so he could look at it later and continued making his way down the shelf.

Chloe was finding herself in the most unusual places today. First, she had found herself in the dungeons for some unknown reason. She had just been wandering around and found herself there. And now here she was in the library! Without any books! She noticed the librarian watching her suspiciously, she'd only been in here a couple of times before, she'd be surprised if the librarian even knew who she was. She wouldn't blame her in the slightest if she didn't. The woman was giving her a condescending sort of look and she quickly went over to the numerous shelves, trying to find herself something to occupy her time with. She had obviously walked in the wrong section to do this, she found herself in the History of Magic section and that certainly wasn't going to hold her interest for very long. She glanced at a few of the titles, all of them sounding exceptionally boring. She ran a hand through her hair, looking around aimlessly for a better section.
She fond one with ample books on charms, potions, and other things that made for good humor. She could pretend that she would use them on other people and maybe even use a couple of them. Yes, that was probably the best way to occupy her time. She chuckled as she flipped through a couple books, they were filled with fascinating things. Maybe the library wasn't such a bad place at all! As she walked down another aisle with the same sort of books she saw one of her house mates, Riley. She walked up to him smiling, "Hey Riley, what brings you here?" she asked him curiously, glancing down at the book in his hands. Glamour Charms For The Beautiful Witch In You? She grinned at him, "Trying to find the beautiful witch in you, are you?" she teased, wondering why he would even be caught holding such a book. Not even she would and she was a girl!
She wasn't sure how Riley would react to her just walking up and talking to him. They had conversed on a few occasions but he was older than her. But she'd never been one to worry about things like that.

After pulling out a few more books that had looked to be of no help to him, Riley was reaching for another book on the shelf when he heard someone talking to him. Quickly grabbing the book and turning towards the person, he was surprised to see Chloe, one of his housemates. She was a few years younger than him- a fifth year or so actually. They had only ever talked a couple of times but she had always seemed rather pleasant.
He gave her a warm smile. "Hello Chloe. Just doing some research for a few....projects." he smiled mischievously. He chuckled at her comment. she'd obviously overheard him talking to himself. "Oh yes. Planning on trying out a few new charms and spells on myself. I just can't seem to do anything with my hair these days." his voice was joking and he winked. "Actually, it's just part of my 'research'." he made the gesture for quotation marks in the air as he said research. "Some of my pranks need some sprucing up, so I figured I'd look around and see what I could find to make some mayhem." He held up the book that was in his hand, the one he had recently grabbed off the shelf. The title flashed "101 Charms to Surprise Your Enemy" The title on the spine of the book had caught his eye as he was perusing the shelves. It was like finding the proverbial needle in the haystack. He only hoped the book would yield some promising charms and not anything overly sissy like "how to cast a charm to tie their shoelaces together". Riley brought his thoughts back to the present and tossed the book next to the other charms text, sending up another cloud of dust into the air. He covered his nose and mouth, and turned back to Chloe. "And what brings you about these dusty shelves on this wonderful day?"

She was glad to see that she didn't appear to be bothering him. She couldn't help but grin at his mischievous smile, it was one that she usually saw on the seventh year's face. She could only imagine what the projects he was talking about would be. If she had to guess she would say he was finding ways to do something to Slytherins. She thought that pranks were amusing but she didn't think that any single group should be targeted, but in this one case, she believed that most Slytherins did deserve what came to them, they were pretty nasty people. But of course, there were exceptions to every rule and she wasn't one to only judge a person by the house they were in. She was sure that Riley wasn't doing it out of hate though. At least she hoped not, she had always reserved a respect for him.
She laughed at his joke, "Well I'm sure you'll be able to find just the trick in that book! I sure do hope you find something, your hair is quite a mess," she replied, the teasing in her voice obvious. She didn't think that his hair really looked bad, she knew that he was teasing about it in the first place. It was still funny to see him walking around with a book like that! So she had been right! He had been talking about doing some pranks. She smiled brightly, "Oh really? And finding the beautiful witch in you is going to help you? Or are you trying to help others maybe find the not-so-beautiful witch in them?" she asked rather slyly, it was uncharacteristic of her. Sudden realization flooded over her as she saw the new book, "Well I'm sure you'll be able to find something useful in there," she replied, "Any particular suspects or just a random sort of thing?" she asked casually, unsure if he would actually give her an answer. He didn't really have a reason to trust her or anything.
Chloe followed Riley's lead and covered her own nose and face to avoid the dust. Why was it so dusty back there? She had thought that a lot of students would have been in this section. It would appear as though she had been mistaken. She shrugged her shoulders at his question, "No idea really. I just found myself in the library and went looking around the shelves to avoid that librarian," she replied with a slight shiver.

Riley smiled, his green eyes glowing with mischief. He sincerely hoped that these books would be able to help him out of his rut because he hadn't pulled a decent prank in over a week and he was feeling stagnant. His list of people to prank was getting longer by the day and he was getting antsy. There were a couple Slytherins who had some tricks coming their way, a few Ravenclaws and Puffs as well. Even some of the Professors, like Slughorn and Lockman- Lockman was always fun to prank, she was so smart but so oblivious. And she had a temper on her! It always made him laugh. He pulled a few more books down from the shelf, scanning the titles for ones he thought would be beneficial to his chaotic cause, and putting back the ones that weren't.
He chuckled at her comment, running his hands through his spiky hair. "It is a bit of a mess. It just seems no matter what I do, I can't tame it. But hopefully this," he tapped the spine of the book "will be the answer to all my glamour woes." he replied, laughing. His smile grew even brighter at her next comment and he placed a finger in front of his mouth as if to silence her. "Oh, it will definitely help me. And if you promise not to tell, I'll let you in on my secret." he winked. He didn't really have to tell her his plans, she'd obviously already figured them out. But, he was enjoying talking with her. He shook his head at her. "Can't tell you my victims names. Those are for me to know, and you to find out. You will see when the mayhem unfolds." he chuckled. It wasn't that he didn't trust her, it was just that he more enjoyed seeing people's reactions to his pranks when they weren't expecting them. That was part of the fun after all.
He gave her a small smile. He sometimes found himself wandering as well, but it was usually because he was looking for someone to play a joke on. "Well, you're more than welcome to join me in my quest, fair maiden." he gave her a mock bow, a silly grin plastered on his face. "But, yes, we must keep an eye out for that fire-breathing dragon. she's a mean one." he laughed. The librarian really was kind of mean when it came to her books and the volume of noise in the library. Riley didn't see the big deal. Why did it always have to be so quiet?

She thought for a moment, who would she prank if she could? She'd done some before but never anything extensive or creative, they were just the standard pranks like dungbombs. She knew a few nasty Slytherins who would deserve something to happen to them but nothing too terribly bad. There was one or two Ravenclaws also but other than that, she couldn't think of anyone. Of course if she was more bold than she would be able to do one on some of her professors, that would be funny. But it would also end up with her in detention, yet again. She wasn't very sneaky and was usually caught whenever she tried to pull something. Thats why she generally left it to the professionals, people like Riley.
She giggled, trying to keep the volume down. She knew she had been too loud before. She grinned at him, her eyes dancing with amusement, "Well I do hope it puts your glamour woes to an end, I'd hate for you to be frustrated with your hair all of the time," she replied with a bright smile. She immediately went quiet as he put his finger in front of his mouth, obviously telling her that she needed to be quiet. She smiled even more largely at him, she leaned closer to him excitedly, his wink was really cute. It was the perfect touch and made him look all the more mischievous. "Of course I won't tell!" she whispered excitedly, determined to keep her voice low enough. She shrugged her shoulders happily, "I suppose that I don't really need to know their names, it'll make it all more fun won't it?" she asked rhetorically. She didn't mind that he didn't tell her, she hadn't really expected him to. Now she would be surprised to some extent whenever it happened, that was always fun. Mysteries could really be good things.
She smiled broadly as he bowed, he really was fun. She chuckled quietly, "Are you sure you don't mind?" she asked him, hoping that he wouldn't. This would probably be the most entertaining thing she would find on a day like this. He seemed like he wouldn't really care though. She nodded, it was true. She liked things unnaturally quiet, the librarian that is. Chloe could hardly stand it. "Its almost like a graveyard in here with how quiet it is," she whispered.

Riley chuckled at her comment. "Why thank you. That's ever so kind. And if it doesn't help, I will just shave it all off I suppose." he replied. He would never shave his head, he didn't care HOW awful his hair became. Actually, Riley usually never worried about his appearance; he was hygienic and groomed himself, but he never went overboard with his habits. His hair was usually either styled in a "just rolled out of bed" look or somewhat spiked up. He liked it simple. He winked at Chloe as she leaned in and promised not to tell. "You were right." He made a big show of looking around them to make sure no one else was listening. "I'm researching glamour spells to use as pranks on random students and teachers." Well, not all of them were random, he did have a list, but some of them would be. Poor saps. He smiled at her comment. "Very, very true!" It was rare for Riley to come across someone who actually understood that point when it came to pranking. It was so much more fun to see everyone's expressions in regards to the joke, rather than just the subject's. Also, sometimes, some people just couldn't play it cool and they ended up ruining the prank for everybody.
His green eyes met hers as he shook his head. "The more the merrier." he replied. Riley was glad she wanted to stay and help. She seemed like a fun girl and he was sure somewhere inside of her there was an inner prankster just waiting to get out. Maybe helping him plan some would unleash that? If not, oh well, she was still fun to talk to. Either way, he was grateful for her help; it was going to cut his research time in half. He nodded his head in agreement with her assessment of the library. "Isn't it though? Gives me the creeps. Don't know why it has to be so bloody quiet all the time." he replied.

She grinned, shaking her head and laughing, "I think you'll be able to find something to help your hair, don't resort to shaving it.," she replied. She doubted that he had been serious but still, shaving heads was never a good idea. Of course, he could probably find some sort of charm in that book to make his hair grow back. She toyed with the idea of shaving her own head, just to see what it looked like, and then letting it grow back with a charm. How cool would that be? She wondered if she had a strangely shaped head, that wouldn't be fun. But she would never know any other way. She would just have to sneak a peak at that book and see if there was such a charm. Then she was definitely going to have to try it out herself. Chloe's eyes opened wide, he was going to use these pranks on professors? But who? She couldn't think of a single professor who would put up with that sort of nonsense! She had heard the Muggle Studies professor was cool but she didn't think that Riley took that class. "Professors? Who?" she asked before she giggled again, "Sorry, forgot I wasn't supposed to know," she added meekly. She grinned at his next statement, so that was the reason he wouldn't tell her. He just wanted to make it all the more fun for her and she wasn't going to complain about that! She looked at one of the shelves, "So d'ya need anymore books for your research?" she asked, emphasizing the word research and winking at him.
Chloe looked at his eyes for a moment, they were a brilliant shade of green. Green eyes were really pretty. She felt slightly conceited saying that, she had green eyes herself. But she never saw her own as anything out of the extraordinary. She grinned, "Well great then, I was hoping you wouldn't," she replied brightly. Sure she had pulled a few pranks in her time but they hadn't been really original. Just dungbombs and stuff one would buy at Zonko's, they weren't anything as extravagant as his pranks. She only hoped that she wouldn't hold him back. She giggled, "I don't either but that librarian sure is keen on keeping it this way," she replied in a sing-song voice. She looked around, "So, I'm new to all this, what do we now?" she asked curiously.

He smiled at her. "Let's hope so. I think I'd look rather awful with a bald head." Riley chuckled. He already thought he had an oddly shaped head and he was convinced all the bludgers his brother had tossed at him during the family Quidditch matches were to blame. Then he remembered he had only said it as a joke anyway, so he shouldn't really be worrying over it. He just flashed her another grin and winked. "Maybe if you ask really nice, I will let you help me plan a few and then you can know who some of the intended victims are." he offered. He was half-serious and half-joking. He figured he would enjoy the help and she might enjoy being able to know who some of the pranks were going to be for. Riley glanced down at the two books he had put aside to look through. Would they need more? Probably. "We might want to look for a couple more. Anything having to do with hexes or glamour spells usually works best." he replied.
As his gaze met hers he admired her eyes. They were a gorgeous emerald color and they seemed to glow as she laughed. He shook his head and brought his mind back to the task at hand. He pulled a couple of books down off the shelf and handed them to her. "Now, milady, we research. If you find anything interesting, mark the page and we can come back to it later. Right now I'm just looking for anything that you think we might be able to use on someone else. Or something we can easily alter to use on someone else. Nothing too dangerous or permanent though." He grabbed a few more books and sat down on the ground underneath the book shelves. Riley waved his hand at a spot near him, indicating she should join him and flipped open one of the books to start scanning the pages.

She giggled, "Most people would look pretty funny without any hair at all. You could always try it out if there's a charm to grow it back," she replied lightly, sharing her own ideas. That had been what she was going to do herself but it would be more fun to do it with someone. Oh well, she'd do it by herself if he didn't want to take part in it. She grinned at him. Of course she would have been nice to him anyways but now there was a prize for it! She nodded her head energetically, "Oh, some intended victims? I'm in! Although if you do them to professors, I'd rather be left out of that one," she chuckled, she didn't mind pulling pranks on students, that was one thing. But pranks on professors? The authority figures in school? No thank you, she didn't like to disrespect her authority figures in the least bit. She nodded her head and giggled when he said glamour charms, for some reason it made her laugh that he was even holding such a book. She pulled out a couple books that looked like they fit his description and flipped through the pages.
She smiled happily as she listened to his instructions. She nodded once to show that she understood, "I'm all over it," she replied, flipping open her first book. She giggled as she read about the antler hex, it made someone grow antlers! That was funny but she wasn't sure if Riley, such an experienced prankster, would find it as funny as she did. She figured she'd just look for more, something more on his level maybe and less on her own. She flipped the page to read more about Densaugeo. It made the person's teeth grow really, really big! Maybe that was something he was looking for? She looked at him, "There's a Densaugeo hex...it makes people's teeth get really big," she told him, looking a littler nervous, "Is that the kind of stuff you're looking for? I think its funny but I don't do this all the time, it might be below your level," she chuckled.

Riley shot her a dashing smile. "That's not a bad idea actually. I'd definitely try that out... if I could find a charm to re-grow my hair." he chuckled. Riley didn't mind experimenting with some charms on his own person, but only if he knew the way to reverse them. If he could find a spell to re-grow his hair, he would be game for shaving it off. He shrugged his shoulders at her, the mischievous look still in his eyes. "We don't have to do professors if you're worried about getting in trouble. I'm sure we can find plenty of other targets to occupy us." he replied. Riley figured if she didn't want to prank on professors, he could always do some of his own. Sure, he'd probably get caught, but it was worth it.
He poured over the pages of the text in his lap. This book might be helpful, it was on different wards and how to place them. He often used some wards in order to protect his pranking supplies that were hidden in his room and sometimes even to keep his pranks in place until the intended person arrived for the show. He flipped the page and started scanning until his eyes came across something interesting: a ward that trapped a person in a confined area. Now that could be incredibly useful! He could cast the ward around a certain area to make sure that his subject didn't get away until the prank had been completed. How often had he had o re-do pranks or serve detention because his jokes had missed their target? He marked the page and placed the book to the side. Riley raised his gaze to Chloe. "That's awesome!" he laughed. "It's perfect! And just so you know, nothing is below my level. I utilize everything, sometimes I just tweak it a little to fit my needs." he smiled.

Chloe couldn't help but notice that he had a very nice smile, it fit his personality perfectly. She chuckled at his comment, "If you do find a charm like that, let me know. I would kind of want to see what I would look like without any hair," she replied happily, "I'd probably end up looking like an alien with a really misshapen head! How funny would that look?" she asked him rhetorically, clearly amused with the idea. She hoped that he was serious, she'd want to try it out with him. She liked to try out different spells on herself sometimes but only if she knew that if she messed up really, really badly...she could somehow rectify it. That's all that mattered really, right? Right. She grinned broadly at him, "Yeah, I'm not looking for that much trouble! Sure there might be one or two of them who could take it better than others but I still think that they'd probably get really upset as well. But yeah, there will be plenty of other targets, I'm sure," she added happily, thinking of possible targets. She could think of no one who had personally upset her, that Alyson Morauer girl was a right nasty piece of work, but other than that there wasn't anyone she really had too big of problems with.
She beamed as he commented on the spell she found! So she had found something he could use! Hooray for her! She mentally gave herself a pat on the back. "You could utilize anything? My, my aren't you talented," she replied pleasantly, not a note of sarcasm was in her voice. It was true! It was a talent, she wished that she could be as resourceful as he was. But she wasn't, she was just Chloe and she was fine with that. There was a charm that could cover people in fur! What an absolutely ridiculous idea, she almost laughed out loud. She wondered if Riley would be able to use something like that. She pointed to the spot on the page and scooted a little closer to him so she wouldn't have to yell, "I don't know if you'd count this as a glamour charm," she giggled a bit, "But you can make people grow fur all over their bodies if you want to," she told him, amusement and laughter twinkling in her green eyes.

He laughed. "I will certainly let you know. I'd be interested to see what you look like as well. Though I must admit, you do have very pretty hair and it would be a shame for it to be shaven off." he replied. "I doubt you'd look like an alien. I might though. I swear all the bludgers my brother has thrown at me have permanently dented my skull." he teased, still chuckling. He imagined his head would look a lot like a quaffle itself, dented on the sides. He just nodded in agreement to her next comment. He had a list of people who they could prank, so they would be fine.
Riley winked at her. "I don't like to brag," he replied "but yes, I am very talented." His voice was joking and he gave her a goofy grin. "Really though, I just like messing around with stuff- a trial and error sort of thing. And my sister helps as well." Sera was always helping him with potions and spells, slightly altering commonly used spells to suit their needs. she really was ingenious sometimes! He liked to think that he took after her in that aspect, being ingenious and all. He looked at the book where Chloe was pointing, edging closer so he could see. "I wouldn't call it a glamour charm, but it's a charm nonetheless and it could be bloody useful!" he chuckled. He would love to see some students running around covered in fur. He looked up at Chloe and smiled approvingly. "You're really good at this research thing. I like the way your mind thinks." he stated. Riley usually preferred to do most of his pranks on his own as it was less likely that he would be caught, but Chloe was starting to make him change his mind. They'd only been researching for a few minutes and already she was stocking up on useful information. He was impressed.

She laughed, "Aw thanks!" she replied, blushing slightly at the compliment, "But it wouldn't really matter if I shaved it all off and we could grow it back," she pointed out with a grin on her face. She burst into giggles at his next comment, she couldn't imagine him with a head like an alien! She shook her head, "I don't think that you'd look like an alien either! And I didn't know you played Quidditch," she replied with a curious look on her face and then broke out into a smile, "Guess that just goes to show that you really do learn something new everyday," she added. She was glad to see that he didn't have a problem with her not wanting to pull pranks on professors. Sure, it was fine for other people, but it just wasn't the sort of thing that she liked to do. To each their own though.
She gave him a wide smile, "Brag all you want, if you're talented and have something to brag about, go for it," she paused and put her finger on her chin, "Well, unless you get way too carried away and won't talk about anything else," she said quite seriously and smiled. She didn't think he would do such a thing but she would find it annoying if he did. She perked up as he mentioned his sister, "Really? Your sister helps you out with all this stuff? That's brilliant! I wish I had siblings," she replied, looking back down at the text. How cool would it be to have a brother? It would be more than amazing! But it was just her and the parents, she had no problem with that even if she did wish she had a sibling every now and again. She beamed as he complimented the spell she had found! She knew that it was funny! She chuckled, "It could definitely be useful, I wouldn't mind seeing someone walk around with fur for a day. I wonder what they would think up in the Hospital Wing," she thought out loud, laughing softly at the last part. The nurse would go crazy! Especially if the student had no idea how it had happened. She grinned at his comment, "Thanks! I was worried I was going to be rubbish at it and disappoint you, maybe I just have a good sense of humor," she teased, not really thinking that it was all that great. Though she did have to admit that she found herself somewhat amusing at times. She peeked over at the book he was looking at, "Have you found anything good in there?" she asked before looking back down at her own book.
She flipped through a couple of pages absentmindedly until her eyes caught something. There was a charm to grow hair back! She handed the book to him and beamed, "Look! Hair can be grown back!" she exclaimed, immediately lowering her voice. Her face turned a bright red, "Oops...sorry," she whispered.

Riley smiled, "Well, if we can find the charm, we should definitely try it out. Then we can see just who does and does not look like an alien." he laughed. He ran his hands threw his hair absentmindedly. "I don't so much play as I'm forced to participate. My brother is the Quidditch fiend, not me. He makes my sister and I play with him though when we are all at him." he told her. "One time, he convinced us to play a quick game with him, and it ended up lasting six hours! Sera and I could have killed him!" Riley laughed softly. He and Sera had gotten Corin back pretty nicely though. That's when his sister had first invented the powdered dye potion. It was a potion that she had altered into a powder form, and when it made contact with a person's skin, hair or clothes, it dyed them for days on end. Corin had ended up turning Ravenclaw colors, and had had to walk around like that for a good long time before it washed off completely.
He smiled back her, once again admiring the way her smile made her face light up. "Well, now that I have your permission, I shall freely do so." he chuckled. He pouted at her next comment. "Aww. That's no fun!" he replied, grinning. Riley nodded his head at her question. "Yep. Sera's bloody brilliant! Wasn't head girl and a Ravenclaw for nothing, I suppose." he joked. He got along well with both of his siblings, but he was able to relate more with Sera. Probably because she didn't talk about Quidditch as incessantly as Corin did. He thought about the charm Chloe had found where they could make fur grow on someone's body. "I hope they have a large supply of hair-removal potion or at least some scissors." he chuckled. His eyes widened at her next comment. A disappointment? How could she think that? "Chloe, how could you think you would be a disappointment? You have a great sense of humor and you're intelligent. It's the perfect combination for this type of thing. I mean, take me for example..." he flashed her a large smile. He knew his ego was talking for him a bit, but he didn't care. Hers should be talking for her as well. She was really good at this! He flipped through a couple more pages and threw the book aside. "Nothing good in that one. But I found a few in the other one I was looking at before." he replied.
Riley started laughing as Chloe practically screamed in her excitement. "Well then, I guess we have an experiment to do, eh? I need to see how well this hair-growing charm works" he smiled. He winked at her and peered around the bookshelves from his spot on the ground. It didn't seem like the librarian had heard them. "It's all good. I don't think anyone heard you. Somehow." he teased.
