Autumn walked through the halls of St. Marina's, not really talking to anyone. Her mind was on the events of the previous night. They'd been on her mind all day, to the point where she'd gone up to her science teacher to ask about the possibilities of Venus being seen the previous night. Of course, he'd told her that they were nigh impossible. That made her feel no better. It was one of the first days of school and she was pretty sure that teacher already though she was a little crazy. Oh well. She would survive. As she went through the motions of the first half of the day, talking with her friends and taking the mindless notes, she thought about the couple as well. Feeling the love eminating from that man, being hurt by the pain within them both, it was just as weird as seeing the planet.

Finally, she had a break, and luckily it was right when lunch would be starting up at Polk. She'd toled Kiz that she'd meet her there, so she left St. Marina's and hurried the few blocks that separated the two schools. She kind of hoped that Kiz would take her lunch on the benches outside so she wouldn't have to go in. She knew she'd have to take a load of crap if people saw a St. M's girl at Polk and while usually she didn't care, she wasn't in the mood to listen to it that day. A few texts from friends came in, inquiring where she was, but she ignored them. They'd survive one day without her.

Finally reaching her destination, she glanced around. It didn't look like anyone was outside, sitting on the few delapitated benches outside the lunch room. That was odd, since on nice days, people, well, seniors, were almost always out there. A look into the windows told her that people were just coming into lunch. Hopefully, Kiz would be one of them. Just to make sure she sent her another quick text.

She sent it, hoping her phone didn't decide to delay anything, and that kiz wouldn't get in trouble for checking it in school. Then she'd feel bad for getting her friend in trouble. Guess I wait then, she thought, sitting on the bench and staring at the door. Though, she couldn't wait long. Her break would only last another half hour, and it took a few minutes to get back to her own school. So all she could do was sit and hope that her friend showed up in the next few minutes.
