What can and has occurred, in some discussions, is that members are posting, or responding to a post, whether purposefully or inadvertently, in a manner that aims to indirectly identify specific persons in our military community which often ends up generating negative consequence.

This is simply not acceptable. Posts of this nature have and will continue to be edited for such content.

While an exhaustive list of what to do, and what no to do, is simply impossible, here are the highlights for when you need to explain a difficult situation you are dealing with where another military community person is involved:

a. Gender neutral language will be used to indicate the person, and their family, being discussed.

b. no reference to where or what trade/classification/profession the person, or their family members, is; nor any other work-related information be it military or civilian;

c. no reference to where the person, or their family, lives, and

d. no inclusion of any information that is not relevant to the desired objective of creating a 'picture' that demonstrates your situation so that you can receive support and feedback.

Each situation will be handled by the Moderators in a consistent and timely manner. The Moderators will use personal judgment focused on fostering a respectful, safe, fair and supportive environment.

With a website, you will be in an excellent position to support the CF and promote understanding of CF operations and activities and resources.

The consideration of greatest importance to you, as a user of DND/CF information, should be information security. Many eyes watch the World Wide Web. Before you post any text or image on your site, ask yourself the following questions:

Does it contain classified or designated information?

Would it threaten the security of Canadian Forces operations?

Could it put CF members, DND employees, or their families at risk?

Would it infringe on any individual's privacy rights?

Does it identify you or anyone else as someone who has access to sensitive information?

If you answered "yes" to any of these five questions, do not post the item on your site!

1. Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you!

2. Please be sensitive on the topics of race, religion, and politics!
Be considerate of others feelings!

3. No personal attacks toward members or non-members will be tolerated.

4. No arguing with Moderators or Administrators.

5. You are welcome to disagree but you must be polite.

6. No bashing any company or their products. No bashing other people. If you can't say anything nice about someone, then don't say anything at all.

7. Keep language "G Rated", this includes insinuations. If you wouldn't say it in front of your grandparents, your parents or your children, then you shouldn't probably be posting it on an online forum. Remember this is a family site.

8. Only appropriate pictures suitable for all audiences will be allowed, this includes avatars. If the photo is questionable at all it will be deleted without warning.

9. No commercial messages will be allowed with out permission. This includes web site links, phone numbers and addresses. These messages/Link must be approved by a staff member if they are not they will be deleted with or with out notice.

10. Please do not use another person’s personal information, graphics, posts without their permission.

11. Continuously breaking the rules to disrupt the community could result in you being suspended, banned from the forum with warning. This is a support site. Please be supportive
